  1. Yes, I look at that steam chart everyday. I see the day coming where I might even be able to get a claim. If they had a claim system that didn't leave so many claimless, Deleted the cyclones, Worked out better placement for the Sotd… people might stop leaving. We still may end up with a good game in the end. I'll hold on a bit longer to see. The cyclones have killed my interest in going to sea but I'll hold out a bit longer.
  2. I think this may have more to do with your PC. My PC has no issues and my lawless is pretty busy. The object spamming sucks but it may be even worse to have island without any open space. Just think if every area block by spammed pillars were blocked by spammed buildings. I do agree with limiting spam pillars but not in limiting real building to your house/barn... This might not happen if there was a claim limit. How about a company is limited to one island? And that is if you have over 50 active players. A guy tried to recruit me the other night. One perk he listed was his company had 8 islands and lots of space for building. While its hard just to pull a ship up to many lawless islands.
  3. How many of you are 100 years old now? Do you plan to do the FOY? I reached 100 a few weeks ago. Just seems normal now, the debuff and looking old. At this point I don't have any plans to sink time in the FOY chase. They say 100 is the new 30. I'm just wondering how many are 100 years old and holding.
  4. While at it, why not raise my weight limit also? Since so much of this game revolves around chopping down trees. What is it... 3 trips for enough just in wood for just one medium plank?
  5. Last night and this is the second time for this event for me... I pulled my ship up to an island. I dropped anchor. I unseated the npc crew from a speed sail... The crew begins bouncing. Higher with each bounce. About one minute in, he is at tree top level. At Seven or so minutes he is a dark spot in the sky, then gone. Still no death in the log about 20 minutes later. I'll check the log this afternoon. I never saw the last one again. This same thing happened to me about a week or two ago.
  6. With all the posts/issues about land... all the islands that you can't see through the shipyards... How hard would it be to take an exact copy of the Atlas map and paste it to the right side of the current map? Use all the same islands, assets and coding, just paste in a copy and rename the grids and islands. Yes, I'm aware it's a bit more than just that. But still.
  7. We don't need a server whip to fix islands looking like New York City. That would just piss off the active player base. Start simple with a hard delete of all objects in world belonging to anyone that has not logged in in the last 30 days. Over time that will start clearing structures out.
  8. I agree. Something changed. Just lost my first schooner to them. I do all I can to evade but that seemed out of the question this weekend as they seemed to spawn to the left and right, closing in. With low wind I was in trouble. Just got away and trying to run to an island for a safe place to repair and ran in to another spawn. Seems their aggro range has increased Low wind, no cannons or cannon skills = set back. Maybe I'll stay on land until I get some more skill points in those trees.
  9. 10 more feet or so of chain would be nice. Where I anchor, I have about half a boat length between too deep to drop and dangerously shallow. Many islands don't have much open space for parking.
  10. I just have them follow me to the ship now, seems to work fine. They swim out and climb on. Then disable following once on.
  11. This all could have been avoided if Atlas was made available as an open Beta. Generally in open Betas people are very understanding of bugs and unfinished features... in Betas. But Atlas was released and sold as EA. Somewhere in recent history the meanings of the two words beta and EA were redefined to mean something new. Yes, Atlas has taken some hits for the state of its release. Never the less, this is where we are. I think it is a good game with a lot of potential. Hopefully the way it was released will not hurt it too much in the long term.
  12. I have built on (PVE) Lawless land. I have noticed that a very high number of the structure building blocks (floors walls) have damaged. Rather than repair one by one, some I may not be able to reach... I'd like to suggest a new crew option just as they repair your anchored ship... you could drop a resource box and they would repair all your damaged items within say 150 feet of the box.
  13. Go to the correct island. Drag the map to your zero slot. Press zero to open. It should light up for you. You should see it from a few hundred feet away.
  14. Most MMOs have tons of solo players. Many people just don't want to spend their free time listening to a group of people squeal for hours.
  15. Yeah, that's what I do to avoid them on long trips. I ride the grid line and at the first sign I cross over to the next grid. But, that does not help within the grid. I can't say how many times I've been within 60 seconds of my dock and one hits. Now I spend the next 10 minutes driving in circles. These and some of the other things really make me wonder about the direction the devs are taking the game. It seems too often to be in the direction of endless grinding in a world that wants to destroy everything you have grinded for at every turn. I understand the idea of challenge but so often its just challenging my tolerance. I really do like this game. I hope they get some of these things worked out quickly.
  16. To me cyclones are the worst part of this game hands down! Not interesting! Not fun! Waste of time! They just stop you from playing the game until they end. They are like the 100 year storm that comes every 20 minutes. Just remove them.
  17. I've lost a few tames to cobras lately. I was never sure just how until today. I have them in a wood windowless building. Today I heard the noise and went looking. A cobra was attacking from outside the wall, doing damage to tames inside the building, through the wall.
  18. I've reached 100. I have no plans to waste any time on this FOY chase. I plan to live with the debuff… until the end. Just not sure when the end will be yet.
  19. In the last 24 hours I've seen two new to me crew bugs. 1. I unseated a crew npc from a sail. He started bouncing at a pace of once every two seconds. With each bounce he went about a foot higher. This continued until he went through the clouds and out of sight. He was never seen again. The ship was anchored at the time of unseating. 2. Today. I have an npc crew removing all its armor and putting it back on about every 5 seconds. Each time the npc has a small jerking motion. When I open the inventory window on this crew, the window closes each time this cycle repeats. The npc is swapping between a sweeping and waving animation. Seating and unseating, nor any other menu option clears this. I have 3 other npc crew members working normally. The server is running normally with no noticeable lag during this time. The ship was anchored during this.
  20. Early access? Not long ago those words meant all major issue were working, ready for release and you were getting in the game a week prior to release. This was largely done to load test the servers before the doors were fully opened. But this is 2019 where the meaning of words can be changed to mean anything you want them to mean. I do like most of this game and hate a few parts I'm forced to take part in. Over all I'm happy to help in the beta testing of it.
  21. I'm getting there... What I see as the downside is that this game forces you to do large amounts of things you have no interest in doing, to be able to do the things you are interested in doing. And in the end, those things you are forced to do are getting heavy. First, cyclones... I'm sick of them. They are not interesting. They are not fun. Once you have seen 10 of them. They are something that stops you from playing the game and forces you to waste your time until they stop. And this happens what? Three times an hour while on the water? It would be different if they popped up once a week. Three times an hour is a total waste of time! Food decay... I want to log on and jump on my boat just say, but no. You have to go kill and animal, then go get a fish. Then start cooking them while you go and harvest two types of food plants. By that point you have already wasted 30 minutes of your game time, just because most of your food from yesterday is gone. I think food decay rates should be days, not minutes. Sotd… It takes 30 minutes to cross a grid, ok I understand this, in context it works. But why can't you see the Sotd ships miles off? As you would see a ship at sea. 30 minutes of open travel and you can't even go get a drink without these spawning in a way at causes you to react right then to avoid them... or you lose everything. If I could take a good look and know, ok I have 2 or 3 minutes that I can get out of my chair safely, it would be far more workable. For the amount of time it takes to get anywhere insta spawns do not work. As far as the bugs and lag go... I've done alphas, betas and early access games for 15 years. As interesting as this game is, I would say it's still in beta. You paid $25 to beta test a game that was called early access to be able to sell it. At this point many core issues like claiming land has not even been worked out yet. Most games only get one big chance at opening, doing it before its ready often spells long term trouble. Over all, it has some fun things about it and could be good if they get some of the big issues resolved quickly.
