  1. As other states, the ship burning should stay, just make it less damaging if there is such an issue and perhaps make it so they mostly damage sails but deal very low damage to planks.
  2. Untill stuff is balanced, rush smithy and then straight for flintlocks once will have enough points. The bow nerf is not that bad, the bad thing are predators.
  3. 1x was better than now, except for the fiber and few other plants, considering some things need more fiber than damn wood, will take 2x as long as they don't adjust prices or they won't revert back to 1x but keep the fiber at the current gathering rate. However hate the fact that ships gonna be easier to get, not only that, ships aparenly gonna be up to 50% chepaer now or something after monday? which is a total joke. Insteed of makin rates higher up and ships cheaper, make them even more expensive but make that so they don't die from 10 cannon balls, medium wooden planks have 2x less health than a raft, that's like 4-5 shoots to make a hole. There won't be any epic battles between 2 ships if one gonna sink another in 1-2 salvos, the best battle is when both sides are exhausted from battle and there was a struggle, not when either side got steamrolled. There's also tha thing about trolls who sink ships with too much crew and overweight, they could just remove the crew limit and just stay with weight, each person would weight like 60-70kg, solved, and then make so weight doesn't sink ships, it just make them stop still bcs too heavy. Btw, being a pve player and also solo and somehow don't need 2x rates on everything and would want some acomplishment from finishing that schooner that planing to sail and also would wish it was not a squishy oversized raft but to be able to tank few cannon shots.

Easiest are temperate islands, then tropical, then... have no idea since was not on any dessert yet but tundra is very not nice aswell with tons of wolves, some snakes (which are pathetic compared to wolves), there are ocasional lions too tho which are just a much frustrating as wolves. The hardest is polar, very low amount of resources, agressive yetis that agro only on players and nothing else, alot of damned ships and whales, temperature is low, not much space to place stuff on and lack of vitamin A and C.
  5. Then the problem will be left and ppl will just swarm over the place with few hunderets of stones or just hop on with full company. There must be another way, otherwise why bother building any ship.

There's still some rare places that are not claimed, when sailed tho, atleast half of that claimed land is not playing anymore, having neighbours that don't do anything for a week already... however didn't claim their flags bcs don't need that much space and not being a douche. As for bugs, exploits etc to claim flags, that 3 day protection doesn't exist, thou canst just go into forest and have house stolen in few minutes, yesterday lost a flag behind the house that was for resources (having only 2 flags + water flag to overlap and protect the house slightly) and it happened when was on the journey back with iron from 2 grids away, thankfuly the leader of that fraction came today and unclaimed it saying the griefer will be kicked. Yes, 14 claims is radiculous for a lone player (here being fine with just 2 claims, that's not like gonna build a mega castle) but the most important part of this thread is the fact that cheaters and exploiters can just grab thy house any moment thou art not looking.
  8. Good news, aparently it was a griefer from a local company and the leader promised to remove the flag and kick the griefer. There are still good ppl out there.

  10. Yes, know that big ships with big speed sails will get across a grid in less than 10 minutes... So fine, just to stop this loop, will say "fine, the 30% increase in speed against the wind is bad, ppl should learn how to sail", will just stick with the idea of adding oars, jjust understand that being on thy side but also understanding the frustration of others, the end.
  11. Not realy, personaly playing solo and didn't have problems with gathering except few resources bcs for example, fiber is almost in everything and alot. They should insteed just make ships and stuff much more durable so they can actualy fight for longer than 1 minute and that alone would justify their price.
  12. No saying that never got that way to the destination, but insteed of 2 hours sailing it would turn 6 hours or something depending on cargo, SoD in the way and direction where was going (again, talking about rafts which can't have handling sails an othe rbenefits bigger ships have).
  13. This and gods have mercy to never meet an alpha of one of them. However thast's true about what op is saying, the AI movement is uh, they just sometimes freak out or simply go in the wrong direction.

Bcs it won't get us where we want to go, it will be slightly off and still will have to wait for wind to get to the right place, talking about rafts, was already doing it but takes alot of time, also not sure if it takes that much skill, just knowledge it exists. But as can read further in our posts, mentioned that don't like the artificial 30% speed boost for free and they should just add a way to push forward with physical force like oars.
  15. Harder? why, it was rather fine right now, tho some big ships could cross between islands in few minutes with big speed sails.... However, yes, the traveling system should stay insteed of being made easier, they just should add oars to get out of dead locks insteed of artificial 30% speed boost.
  16. Oh, 50% reduction..., would rather want to see 100% increase insteed but make ships like 3x more healthy, perhaps even add some plating which would make ships slower but have damage resistance on planks covered with them.

  18. Imagine haing a fish with 5+ arrows and still not taking damage, was out of patience and just used hatched to finish it off lol, the hitboxes are trule awfull, hitting a head that is not straight looking at thou is almost impossible with those tiny or non-existent hitboxes
  19. That's actualy a good idea for a perk, poisoned arrows dealing some extra DoT and making them asleep...

Well, they try to balance the game... however they balance things that not many ask for or none at all and things that are asked frequently don't get touched as SoD camping server borders, SoD in huge numbers in small area making them nothing special of an encounter but just a huge annoynace to anyone who wants to pass without having to make a circle arround entire grid, alphas being able to shred someones base for free if they can't defend self, some predators just being radiculously powerful compared to others (fight a snake and then fight a wolf, snakes are a joke compared to wolves), claim flag spam, mega tribes, ships being too squishy etc.
  21. Bow can be used in water, if there's many wolves in pack or if missed the shots and any are still standing, water will save thy ass and considering pistols can't be shot in water... bow wins, they deal massively less burst damage but reload very fast and are usable in water.

  23. Mean polar?, considering there's barely any resources and lack of vitamin A and C aswell tons of yetis that don't agro on other animals, only on players... good luck. However hard to siege that place so if could get a base deep into polar unreachable by ship cannons then the frost and yetis would crush the attackers not to mention polar have alot of whales...
  24. Yeah, firearms are so slow to reload and have that mini-game thing... but they deal tons of burst damage so there is that. The blunderbuss... is that thing even good?, can it beat a 315 dmg to the wolf head?, bcs heard it doesn't register most of pellets when shooting even point blank. Also do those pistol reload speed perks also affect blunderbuss and musket or only pistols?, bcs if pistols..., when then we have nothing for the rest and why we need to take them to get diferent weapon.

Right..., yes, was one of those that didn't like making 2.5x into 1x... but it was bcs of fiber and bcs not having any iron nodes anywhere nearby so getting iron from boulders took tons of time. But now, 1 and half boulder and already being full lol. Hope that this gonna be combated by making ships more expensive (the bigger ones, can't sail them solo anyway and crew costs food and upkeep...) but also by making ships actualy tanky 10+ cannon bals should not be the end of a ship unless launched from some huge cannon.
