  1. Hyperbole isnt allowed? I knew what he meant by "millions". Did anyone really think he was being literal?
  2. I'm surprised people haven't called you out for making these statements since you have ZERO time playing this game. OHHH I just remembered most people got sick of you bashing a game you've never played and put you on ignore. Seriously dude... you spend more time ripping on a game you've never logged into EVER then most people spend at thier actual jobs. I get that you've read the forums and played ark so you just assume you know everything BUT until you feel this game you dont know jack. Until you've sailed the stormy seas... or battled a group of galleons... or hunted treasure... or scouted for unclaimed land and then found it and then defended it... you dont know jack. Ark was the skeleton of this beast but its not the meat and brains.
  3. You had my sympathy till this point. One less toxic player imo. Good riddens.
  4. You've had some good points in the past from someone that has not experiened this game in person yet. HOWEVER, you are making huge assumptions without the hands on knowledge of actually playing the game and feeling it. This is NOT ark... this game is NOT about raiding as much as ark was. This is an exploration, ship building, ship sailing, sea battle, pirate game. Yes it was built off of ark(and because of that you think you're an expert) BUT until you play it you need to calm down with the know-it-all attitude. I have 1500 hours in ark and 250 here and they are two VERY different games.
  5. Do layer after layer after layer of wood. Make it so complex it won't be worth thier time. That's what I would do in Ark, where any building material could be breached. Have fun creating a huge labyrinth! The time they would take to get to your good stuff wouldn't be worth the haul. It's very satisfying to wake up to a half breached house
  6. Never had that happen to me either. So its not a 100% bug. And honestly the way you're raging isn't very cool or mature. I get that you're frustrated and they are the reason for it but SHEEESH! Grow up a little and learn how to treat people.
  7. Only if the first time killing him didnt work...
  8. ... its not that bad. But if that's how you feel then you can fawck0ff. (See what I did there? I crack myself up) I, for one, am choosing not to ragequit like a child. I personally thinks it's better and more mature to make suggestions instead stomping my feet and throwing a tantrum. And the random storm is your tipping point? They barely cause damage and they add a little spice to long tedious journeys. It might be the booze talking but I'm really getting sick of the immaturity around here.
  9. People still play games on mac? Is this 1999?
  10. See above. (I forgot to hit the quote button... too much jim beam)
  11. Its called empathy, humanity, understanding for fellow man. Just because they are game devs doesnt mean you can treat them like dogs. Put yourselves in thier shoes. Imagine what they are going thru. Sometimes they deserve respectful pushback and sometimes they deserve praise and thanks. But treating them like trash because you dont agree with a change is just childish and not productive. Honey vs vinegar.
  12. Honestly, football in general is the original RNG game. I haven't been into a particular team in ages because I had the realization that teams change every season so who are we rooting for? The mascot? The jerseys? The general manager IF they dont get fired? Also, politics do not belong in games... Kaepernick should have used a different stage to protest... imho.
  13. It's all moot when they ask for money for the "privelage". Its no longer a privilege if you're giving them money. Now theres an expectation because of the money given. You cant revoke something you paid for unless you're breaking the rules.. for example hacking or exploiting. Unless the rules(aka contract) indicated explicitly that you MUST be positive, informative, helpful, and not negative during the entire EA period. And honestly that will never fly. Choosing to use the Early Access method to make money off of its alpha testers(versus the alternative method of actually paying out money to have your game tested) comes with downsides and mainly its setting people's expectations pretty high. Its supposed to still be playable. Alpha testers that are paid do not have that expectation. Typical alpha testers get compensated one way or another so it's a job for them. Early access buyers expect to have something fun to play while things get fleshed out.
  14. Ya my bed disappeared when I crashed on my boat yesterday. My sloop is all alone now.. probably dead to SotDs by now. It just made me quit for the night. It wasnt a big investment but I had no desire to start again and rebuild a new boat and restock it to head out to find sap. This new sap hunt really sucks!
  15. Everyone eventually comes to the dark side Seriously tho, theres no denying they have some issues lately that need addressing. Even us people that really love the game still cant deny the pain and suffering.
  16. Id say these days Democrats and Nazis go more hand in hand. Have you seen Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Shumer?? Lol
  17. This will come in a mod eventually. Ark had some really good mods for automating lighting.
  18. I'm glad that they are actively banning. I'm also glad that they are discussing the horrible decision to make stone more difficult to craft. I'm hoping those discussions are considering reverting stone back and adding in a reinforced stone tier. It really sounds like they are not slowing down.
  19. Hey all! I just read the response Jat posted in another thread earlier that he then closed due to the thread "going off topic". Personally, I think the response he posted deserves to be seen by everyone and discussed. It touches on bannings that are happening and the frustration of the stone nerf. Here it is: To get back on topic, we have had the ban list in place since the launch of the title and have been actively banning folks since.. probably day 2 or day 3. Once we've enabled BattlEye, the number of bans are increasing tenfold and we're updating the global banlist to include those BE bans so that any unofficials who may not run BattlEye, but use the list can still prevent these rule breakers from playing on their servers. Since then we have wiped a few more companies, and today we ended up wiping+disbanding one as the leadership weren't able to keep some of their members from playing by the rules. You'll see that list continue to grow, especially as we make more tools to identify users who have broken the rules and are playing unfairly. I have thought about doing something that's more akin to a 'hall of shame', but not really sure how that would fly... for now having these users banned and added to the banlist so other servers can make use of them is sufficient. In regards to this, rest assured I am reading as much as humanly possible (in relation to my other duties too) all the feedback and criticism, negativity or positivity, and the threads that are reaching out to the team asking us to consider taking a different approach in how we handle ATLAS' development etc. I can definitely see all the frustrations regarding the recent Stone Structure changes, and completely understand why players would be upset. It's something the team are actively discussing and when we have something we want to share, we'll let you guys know. In the meantime, there is still an endless list of problems that I want to deal with and make sure are getting attention. Linux servers being one of those many things. I'm going to go ahead and close this thread now. I appreciate the thought but it looks like it's veered quite a lot off topic and to be frank, a lot of it is irrelevant. You can be assured that there will be many more bans and wipes to come, as they're needed and we're only going to be ramping it up as we further develop our toolset.
  20. Ok... I'm not saying you're wrong they deserve some push back for sure. In other words: fair enough:)
