  1. The negativity stems from people that like the game, and want to see it progress, but...... From all accounts it seems as all but a skeleton crew is left on Atlas with all the main development people working on Ark's new DLC. Do a member search on this forum for the dev team, there have been only 1-2 posts for months now. Meanwhile the Twitter feeds of Atlases main communications people have come alive recently with Ark Genesis this and Ark genesis that without a mention of Atlas that I can see. Even Jat seems to want to distance himself from the game, and posting under a genaric Atlas user name. Iether that or he's been replaced and that person is unwilling to put thier name to this game. And it's not wasteing time talking to the community, again do a search on here back to this time last year. If you're newish here, you're in for a surprise.
  2. The Killing yourself and changing home servers, is a short fix. If you do that after deleteing the battleye folder in the game files, then verifying game files through steam. that should fix it, you might get it again a few months down the line, but should fix it for now.
  3. They improved the wave physics a while back now, not that I noticed anything, probably need a higher spec PC than mine to notice the difference. Like nearly everything this dev team does this "new" feature had the downside of producing the ship / wave de-sync everyone now gets. Sailing on day one of release was better, that was just lag, this new and improved screen stuttering / boat jumping below and above the waves just drives me to anchor up and switch off to save my eye sight.
  4. This has worked for me, more than once over the last 8-10 months. Exit game. Find the battleye folder in the Atlas game files and delete it. Go to steam, right click Atlas, properties, game files. Verify game files, this takes a long time and will replace the files you deleted. Now back into the game..... Enter game. Kill yourself. At respawn screen set new home region (can be anywhere, doesn't matter). Respawn in that region. Kill yourself again. You can now respawn back where you are meant to be, and the problem should be fixed. Good Luck.
  5. While it would be nice to see more types of ships in Atlas, people will always cookie cutter the same type every time. Some thing they could do, and it would even be within the skill level of this dev team, if they ever get back to working on this game. Is to have different base values for stats and coresponding increases per level. So you would have differing roles for the same ship type.
  6. At the begining of Atlas, crops were slow to grow and produced very little. Having a stout shovel and great skill at farming was a great boon if wanted to be self sufficient and not live as a hunter / gatherer. Nowadays however all you need is the skill to make a crop plot and your crops grow super fast and in great quantities, so very little skill and no effort required. Ah! The luxuries of the modern era.
  7. The Freeports as they are, are a reasonable workaround for the broken PVP system, exploitable as always the bigger the company. I think it's fair not to fault the Freeports until they make PVP land a place people can actualy exist.
  8. Pfft, won't be looking into it then. Atlas and Ark are too similar to play both, even if they have two dev teams working on it, I have too little regard for them any more to try anything new from them.
  9. They do, but it's a pain in the arse. better to use a large gate for a trap.
  10. Not likely, they want all the people that dropped atlas to buy the new Ark DLC. (I wonder if the old Ark season pass still works)
  11. When did this team ever bring out anything that did not require months of fixing, might have to wait a bit longer.
  12. Stack size and decay timer on the silo would make all other food storage solutions obsolete, on land anyway.
  13. The crew & tames can get in the way of placing stuff, you could try moving them out the way, especialy the one that used to be on the sail.
  14. not sure if you are blocked out, but I often see 1/2 of a conversation when one person is talking in company chat and the other is replying in global chat. the screenshot might indicate what channel the person you couldn't see was talking in.
  15. Not knowing the server, as I said, I could only give a 1/4 perspective, and yes I gave a example but am well traveled enough ( doing discoveries by boat ) that the example is well founded. By the way I'm sorry to hear about your car, mine seems to work just fine.
  16. I think people were talking about slightly higher level maps than ones with only one warrior, those are almost as easy as they used to be.
  17. You Don't say what server you are on, US / EU, PVP / PVE. From an EU PVE perspective, while you are correct, in the more popular regions space is a premium with owners spamming to keep the isands for themselves or spamming to vet prospective settlers. the more north or south you go the more space is available. As an example our island, in a corner tundra region (close to many differing resources) on a large island are just 3 companies, taking up less than 5% of the coastline, there is no spamming and only the occational trap or ramp up to resources mar the unspoilt island.
  18. This was such an issue many months ago that I and everyone I know no longer uses this feature, whistling follow to get tames on a ship is how we do it. We sometimes chance it with stuck tames and crew, but lost too much to trust that system anymore.
  19. Breeding can be set up to be not too time consuming. I live in a tundra region and 6 grills in a semi-circle will keep bears warm at all times, and with 1 stack of wood lasting 4+ hours. (that's your heating sorted) I have a small farm for vegetables, having 1-2 troughs nearby they have never ran out. (that's the food sorted) As for time, I get home from work from 5-6, pop on and breed bears, set timer for 4 hours, at 9-10 baby's pop.(this bit requires you to be present for a bit), but 1 stack of veg in a bear will feed a bear for about 45 mins, use this metric to guess when you can leave the bears backtracking each stack (45 mins) from the 4 hours it takes to reach infant and can feed from a trough, for me and my bears that's about 1 1/2 hours in and they can hold 4+ stacks. Even that 1 1/2 hours can be spent mostly away from the bears, I usually get 1/2 a stack of veg in them then potter about for 20 mins, top them up again and come back at the 1 1/2 hour mark, top them off again and I can log off knowing they will mature without any more input from me. once they are bread to my liking imprinting will be a lot more of a chore and will need a weekend to accomplish.
  20. Yay! now there is definately only one way to do maps. WooHoo!
  21. You relax, Play at a pace you want to play. Do discovery points in a boat, (hard consept to understand, I know, but a few like myself enjoy it). Tame and breed your animals yourself. make a good looking home and dock, that is actualy a pleasure to reside in. Discover for yourself the best places to gather each of the resources, and then gathering it yourself at your leasure. Make good looking but practical ships for traveling, hauling, hunting SotD with the knowledge they will still be there tomorrow. Someday i'll do the powerstones, but i'm in no hurry, this is a huge game and i've time to burn.
  22. Thing is you are from a big well known company, that I would suspect most know how to contact. The vast majority of the bed spammers are from unknown companies that you have no idea where they are located, let alone how to contact them. The game also has a turnover of players / companies so waiting it out is pointless as the next bed will be dropping soon enough. I assume "companies doing beds" like yourself, won't be be having there beds despawn anytime soon.
  23. I've not come across a rotated island before, but there are plenty of islands slightly out of place, mostly the newer ones, shifted up, down left or right on map and minimap. Makes arriving in bad weather conditions interesting, especialy if they have sand bars.
  24. Riding an animal you imprinted yourself gives a 30% buff to damage and resistence. Mate boost is about the same, but I'm not 100% sure. Having both I do know makes a great difference, then you hit "natures cry". Having imprinted animals you bred yourself means you only require half decent tames as the buff is worth about 20-25 levels in melee and 10-15 levels in health.
  25. Thats a new feature brought out after the last wipe. Your ship if sailing just fine, only it's sailing on rougher seas than you can see. I beleave it comes under the 'Improving game performance', you'll note there is no lag or stuttering on your video.
