  1. The mat costs of rafts at freeports is fairly nominal though. a few minutes gathering wood, fiber and hide should do it. Or was it thatch? Either way it doesn't take much.
  2. Kudos to you sir. Very valuable information for the community.
  3. Actually my friend who finally got into the game just yesterday, and we finally met up in game today got her raft destroyed by ship of the damned. We were both piloting rafts towards a treasure zone for a map I'd picked up. We passed through a zone wall, there were ships of the damned on the other side. No big deal we'd already passed several. I sail through untouched, one of them attacks and sinks her raft. WTH.
  4. Has it been explicitly confirmed breeding is in the game yet? Because if not I could see that being the problem.
  5. This post. This post right here... Is my favorite post today. I love you Wakko. why won’t you answer my texts?
  6. Why just him? I thought we had something special. You never call. You never text. All I get is your voicemail.
  7. Hrm.... Doesnt that sound like the sort of thing that ought to be stickied on the game’s official forums General Discussion page? Of course that’s assuming there is a CS dept to be contacted. But I’m sure GrapeCard would never launch a massive new EA game with experimental server types and attempting to hybridize two previously unmelded game genres into a single MMO without having a CS dept in place to handle the many issues bound to arise from such a cutting edge venture. Surely not. Probably just an oversight.
  8. That’s it. I’ve had it with the overspawns of ghost ships and land critters both. I’m sailing my @#$&ing raft to my base on Ragnarok and I’m coming back with my Tek Saddle Mosa and my level 350 Tek Rex. Then we’ll see what’s up. You want some of this Mr Ghost ship? Pack of wolves? Say hello to my little friend. I think we’ve just been coming at this wrong guys. Sometimes you gotta go outside the box.
  9. Quite true. I recommend Ragnarok or Crystal Isles. oh you mean in this game? Yeah I don’t think there’s any land left for that sort of thing. Check back later....
  10. I hear it’s a naturally occurring resource that can be harvested from many forum posters.
  11. I’m hearing hunt alphas is the ticket.
  12. Does the bp require a particular crafting station? Ie craftable at: if so you will need to place the np and mats on that station to craft.
  13. There are at present far more alphas than in Ark. If alphas are aggressive towards structures, having a sturdier wall might be useful even in pve.
  14. True, but I would posit that the more extreme the level of trial and error that EA players are subjected to, the greater the negative impact on your game’s reputation by the time it reaches launch. If it reaches launch.
  15. *Has never played Fallout, still knows what you mean.* Oh how the mighty have fallen. GrapeCard and every other aspiring development studio should heed the lesson of what is happening with Bethesda right now or risk a similar fate.
  16. This was totally a discussion of skill points if by skill points you mean Early Access and by shoving match you mean skill points.
  17. I agree completely that EA is not a catch all excuse for slipshod internal processes. I don’t know the first thing about software development, but as a longtime MMORPG player what you are saying makes perfect sense to me because while we should expect changes, we should also reasonably expect those changes to have undergone some internal process and right now many don’t feel like they have been. Some outright feel like “how could you have even thought this was a good idea?” Case in point, in the new patch notes it says they are making food spoil more rapidly when sailing. In the name of Dog why? It makes no thematic sense whatsoever, and gameplay wise, why would you alter a mechanic to limit sailing and exploration in a game whose core draw is sailing and exploring?
  18. Fair enough. My fault for reading too much into your statement. I agree that keeping expectations low is wise. Being pleasantly surprised in the end beats being disappointed. Plus Wildshots track record of dealing with stuff like pve pillar spam in Ark does not leave one optimistic about this. Very good point. Law of unintended consequences can be a @#$&*
  19. I agree attitudes are unlikely to change. Disagree that GrapeCard should do nothing to address behavior by making grieving less easy and obvious.
