  1. My decay timer reads two days, but an ally looking at my lighthouse says that he gets the demolish action. Which probably explains why I have to keep rebuilding the damn thing. It disappears about every other night when I log off.
  2. Did they patch notes actually SAY this was the fix for weight-griefing?
  3. Logging out and back in fixed it. Not sure why I ever got those red Xs though.
  4. I crossed over a boundary, second time in the game. Suddenly the ship has red circled Xs all over and I was in panic mode. Ran around hitting everything with the repair hammer, but X's won't go away. One became a leak, but I repaired that. Currently the hp numbers are being weird. Going up, down, up, down. Likely the repair vs something doing damage. Is this just the "normal" ship decay? Because I have not had this traveling to other regions. (K5, K6, L5). And why only some planks, not others? What is happening to my ship?
  5. I reassigned my middle mouse button to something useful, so that never worked for me. Even after unassigning it. But sure, I heard that was the non-shovel method.Thought it better to report something I had succeeded at myself.
  6. Rob the house by falling asleep outside of it? I guess maybe. People can be dumb. As for letting me out, there was no door. Just four windows, boxing me in. Nice that they used windows, I guess. So I could tell that I was still in the same location I got dropped when the server shut down.
  7. Crows eat earthworms, which you get as a rare spawn from digging with the shovel, but missing the mini game (on purpose). I suspect you already know you get grass and uncommonly potatoes by digging. But this is how you get earthworms too.
  8. Looks like the solution they settled on is that each flag past the first one makes your flags decay faster. Interesting.
  9. I got caught in the open during the server shut down and hunkered down next to someone's house. Could not connect to the server for the first hour following the v9 upgrade, so I resigned my character's fate as "gonna die" and went to bed. Today I start up, expecting to be at my raft's bed, but instead find myself boxed in a room with windows built by "The Sharkfin Buccaneers". Seems that someone was able to make a 1x1 room under my sleeping body and I cannot leave. Fortunately there is a bunny in here, so I can eat poop and die, which was going to be my fate anyway. But I am surprised you can build under sleeping bodies. But if you could not, that would be griefing on my part, perhaps. Sharkfin would not be able to expand his house with my sleeping body there. What's your call on how devs might have handled this. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1614440736 for screenshot.
  10. Probably better to post this is the General Discussion forum, not the forum where people post guides and walkthroughs.
  11. This sounds like you are doing it wrong. To create ingots, you first collect as much of one kind as you can, let's say "Silver" since that's what they have in my region. Then build a forge. Then put wood in it and light it. AND THEN select one of the recipes for that building to make ingots. Unlike ARK, the ingots don't form automatically. And note, the ingots have raw material requirements. The silver ingots also need gems. But all of the raw metal comes in some special type, like "Silver" or "Cobalt". The only item called "metal" that you are going to find is from salvaging ships or demolishing building components that needed metal in their construction. Because you don't get the original special kind of metal when you salvage.
  12. Yes, there seems to be a bug in that a Fence Post says it is "obstructed" while it it is snapping to the corner of the gate. But there is an easy out. It is FAR more resource conservative to just make your wall out of gates overlapping gates. That's four stories high. The wall cost to build three foundations long and four high is about eight times the cost of the gateway and gate.
  13. You should read the patch notes. Changes to both the weight capacity of ships and the way that flags work in the update tonight, more in the update planned for Monday (especially for how flags work).
  14. The fixes in the recent patch start to address this.
  15. Is your math right? 0.6% per turnip, yet only 1.5% per bola? That's not a multiple of either 0.4 or 0.6 With 0.4%, and only managing 6 feeds per bola during the 2 minute binding period, that should be 2.4%. Yeah, that's still 42 bolas. But they are fixing it. And you are taming a "high level" rhino, since most islands have 1-30 wild levels for their critters. And you didn't even hit the hard scenario: hitting a crow with a bola. I spent 15 bolas and never got a single hit on my damn crow target.
  16. You should read the update that was just posted. Taming levels are going to 2X as the new baseline.
  17. Did you read the recent update? The first fix, on Monday, is to increase the carry weight of boats by 40%. Their sort of stuck. You don't want PVE griefing, but you don't want players exploiting their ships to carry unlimited passengers and cargo, just because those people aren't in your company. I trust that as we enter week 3 and 4, a solution will eventually present itself.
  18. The whole definition of a Lawless zone is that you cannot claim. It's bump to being a starting territory was a compromise because the 15 starting zones couldn't handle the entire population at the start of the game. I'm not surprised to see this revert back to how it was on day one of the game. I have never left the starter Lawless zone I've been playing in, and am not really worried by the change since I have 2 rafts and a sloop, with a schooner on the way. I like taming and taming doesn't need to travel the map as long as you can trade for the needed special foods.
  19. You need to build animal traps anyway, for the tough times. So I don't think that's a "workaround".
  20. This probably isn't a top evel issue to them because a fix would likely need a server wipe and reset of the game. They want to test other elements of their economy before they do that. And they can't really come out and say that. People will stop playing until the wipe happens, ruining the ability to test.
  21. Pretty obvious this is a bug of unintended design. It will get fixed, in time. This is hardly the first report of this issue.
  22. Animals prefer comfortable temperatures and environment. They won't mate unless happy. You haven't told us enough about your base, although this photo suggests it is night, therefore cold.
  23. "Only fix"? Not very imaginative. How about a "capital claim", where your claim flags in that region have a one day, others outside of that region have fast decay? How about the need to repair flags? How about no decay, but a 24 hour challenge window where the current owner needs to remove the challenge flag to hold their claim? And no bed fast travel... How about anything where holding flags itsrlf is work. So you just make work for yourself by placing more flags? There are lots of systems. They have pluses and minuses. Your suggestion has the benefit of simplicity, but it isn't the only fix. Note, I have some support for a claim cap. But it isn't the ONLY option. I'd actually like a three flag per player cap one the first six days after a server wipe, unlimited after that. It's the land rush that is the problem, I feel. Too much advantage for first to reach a new island. But once the core territories are established, I feel that growth and economic/territory conflict are a good thing.
