The playing field cannot be leveled by a wipe anyway, Pc players who have played since the start will know the quickest way to level, the best place to start from, where all the resources are, they'll be proficient at building ships and forts, they'll also be better at combat. They will have so much experience behind them they'll be level 40 before the console players finish watching their youtube tutorials. Level playing field isn't gonna happen.

Nobody likes bad news shoved in their faces, regardless whether its true or not. If people want to know statistics they can look them up for themselves anyway, they don't need it pointed out on here. And whether people are easily lead or not the fact is people are swayed by reviews and opinions . How many times have critics destroyed a film at the box office? believe it or not bladerunner was totally trashed by the media on release. And one persons opinion isn't always the same as another. There are many of us that play and enjoy atlas a lot. But human nature tends to focus on the bad rather than the good. If you're opinions are biased then you will radiate that out in your posts, like I say I question motives of just constantly quoting negative points at every given opportunity.

I don't think a wipe is necessary, other games that have gone cross platform haven't all done it. Personally I think it's good to join an mmo that's already alive with players. Although I can see the reservations in pvp, at the end of the day even if there was a wipe, the more experienced players will still be way ahead of new players simply by their knowledge and understanding of the game. I lost all my stuff to a glitch anyway so a wipe wouldn't directly affect me, and I'll be starting again on xbox too, i''ll be able to join my own pc company. But I still hope they don't wipe the game.

Tbh i'm more interested in the motive of what people say than the wording. I can see this topic doing the game and it's players absolutely no good whatsoever, and people simply quoting falling numbers is not even a form of constructive criticism, it's more along the lines of told you so smugness. It's so heartwarming to see the human nature of kick em when they're down coming into play here, it makes me wonder why people would avoid mmo's. And no I don't believe in silencing criticism, but that's not what is happening here is it? As I said before these kinds of topics are discouraging people to join, So it would not be tyranny to remove them, just common sense.

What you are doing here on these forums is akin to panicking the stock exchange, the more you quote low numbers the more people quit or are less likely to buy. Other game forums remove posts that are detrimental to their games and for good reason. None of these types of topics are helping the game at all. And I've also found steam stats to be less than accurate.

Then make it clear please not everyone would know that especially when you quoted from my previous post about wiping through boredom. And you also haven't noted who you actually meant. So apologies if I misinterpreted your post.

Well For one I've never asked for a wipe at all, in fact i'd prefer it if there wasn't one so I have no idea what you are talking about. And i've never complained about low server population either, it would be a bit hypocritical as I play single player as well as pve. btw if you are ever unsure about a forum users previous posts you can click on their profile and see them there, please do.

The problem now is people are leaving because of the rumours of a wipe when it goes multi platform, there are already reasons people have left, we don't need this aswell. And I know some people welcome a wipe but lets be fair a lot of players like that have completed everything and now sail around bored. Boredom should never be a reason to wipe a game. The devs need to address this issue once and for all come what may, tell everyone exactly what will and won't happen. Put the speculation to rest.

Well as you're not buying the game anyway I don't know why you seem so bothered, Also you're stating that games like ESO, WOW, NMS, FFO can't charge full price ever because they are used games? and I don't remember FFO wiping everything. And anyway they won't be buying Atlas on release day cos it's already been released.

Well one I don't have anything left in pve cos it's gone and two so you're telling me that mmo's don't get new players unless they wipe the slate? dream on. And regardless of it launching on xbox or not it's CROSS PLATFORM, Which means the people buying it will already be expecting pc players to be on it.

The only kind of wipe that is risk free is front to back. Nobody joins an already running mmo and expects a level playing field cos it's not gonna happen. as for replay Yeh there are games you can finish in 50 hours but give you replayability so you could end up playing them for at least 300 hours in total. I've already played atlas for well over 400 hours and still haven't finished it all. And some people have played for over a thousand hours. What the hell is 50 hours replayability compared to that? I'm buying the xbox version too and personally it doesn't bother me if there is a wipe but it's definitely better imo if there isn't one. It's always good to get help from players who are higher lev when you're getting hammered. And it means there will be companies that you can join that are already established. I've also had help from other players with resources too. There's no need to wipe the game at all.

You can only place them in the center of supported pieces which is nowhere near where a ships rear lantern goes. A rear lantern is on the rearmost part of a ship at the highest point.I'm not talking about ship lighting. I also don't see why there would be any opposition to these suggestions as the lanterns would be a great addition to any ship, and if the bowsprit was craftable it wouldn't cost any gold, saving people 400 gold per ship. opposing this is like a turkey opposing a ban on christmas.

Anyone managed to get through the red barrier on the blackwood hydra island? it's supposed to be the snake boss cave but I can't get through.

I do already colour the lanterns but they really are still nothing like ships lanterns at all, and placing them is a pain in the ane.

I already do that with lanterns but I'd like to see lanterns designed for the purpose because the normal lanterns just don't look right, you can barely see them on the columns . Also the bowsprit is NOT a figurehead that's my point, it's part of a ships construction and should be craftable.

Anyone else having problems where the fishing rod won't work? seems somehow to be linked with the dinghy dock not releasing from the ship, I get one happen the other automatically follows, even fishing from shore doesn't work. and the dinghy either releases and vanishes leaving me swimming or it won't release at all.

yeh the flag res is always good but the sails tend to look a bit pixelated.

Gonna ask again if we could have ships rear lanterns as I really think it adds a touch of realism the ship needs. Also can you please allow us to craft the bowsprit instead of buying it as a trad figurehead which it is not. Ships just don't look right without it and at 400 gold for just one it makes it difficult for solo players to keep buying them. At least let them be craftable at the smithy once they are bought. Even a blueprint of ten would be just about acceptable, but not just 1 for 400 gold when it's not actually a figurehead anyway but an essential part of a ship. Thx

in atlas pnt where i install them the res is only 256 by 256

Yeh I wish my sails had a higher resolution for more detail. But I've never found a way to change them.

Painting the planks might have not caused the crash at all though, it might just be a coincidence. Try logging in on low mem mode through steam that usually fixes the time out problem for me.I then readjust the settings back to where they were. I've crashed so many times myself I regularly do the file validation anyway, so you could try that too. Good luck.

you can save your sail images into any graph software, I save mine into corel as it's where I create them anyway, just put them back into atlas paint later.
