What would be a prefered timer? Other Question, PVE people were asking for upkeep to avoid keep things in stasis by logging in once every two weeks/ 4 days for lawless, how is that addressed?

You mean this? the claim systems on PvE will change from being lawless-esque servers to the following -cl23 I mean i am not native speaker, but it is everything but clear to me! it just say CLAIM and continue how it playes out for the claimer. In fact they dont even mention u can build everywhere in the whole CL 23. In the prolog it even says: There will be some adjustments to our previously announced plans and this Captain’s Log will outline the details that have emerged during this process. -cl23 So again what Quote are you basing your argument on? The specifics will be honed and adapted as we approach the PTR as well as the launch of these new systems -cl23 And this, ergo it is clear and set in stone, dream on.
  3. There is intentionally no information given (they may not know yet either). Everything that is not clearly written there is speculation, we have to wait! And what is written may also be a subject to change.
  4. Ok, just go Polar with galleon bring gunpowder/coal, craft balls/bolts there. It is not like you just realise you need 100K metal now! I am solo/duo and would do that (brig tho), did for restocking GA SotD fighter.
  5. With the new weight system a player can mine like 700-1k metal in one go out of a walled off place, so it does not protect anything anyway! So there is no 0. And we are back at 30% taxes, where supporter of the system where saying nobody will use 30% For Claims it is ok to be first come first serve, for resources not so much? I have never ever lived on an island where i could not get a decent amout of "spawn limited resources" (Metal) withhin an hour. They may be farmed when u start farming, but i allways got at least some at the respawn. This can also be work around with allways having some backup stored.

Regarding TM, i did the sailing, but most is about preperation (collecting huge amout of map, plan the journy), doing discoverys on the way will enlarge the journey, so skip them? Just dont plan to go to GA with fire elementals, or better at all. When u have your Intelligence set, there is no need to do the ~16+(?) maps because mythical sucks in PVE otherwise. I did a journey with at least 1 map (8+) each grid (~20 grids in total), this is ~15-20 minutes per map (without slacking). At some point u have to drop the gold to maintain speed (or go freeport for Silk etc.). >About your Gally as swimming outpost, lets see how the new ship-upkeep will play out for that, you may end up farming double.   8. Atm i trend to go for a, if i am a lucky claimer, i will create an anarchy island. By that i mean, i will try to farm the upkeep by myself and dont give a shit about the state of the island, so never demolish anything. B can be done if failed anyway!

  10. Problem here is, you farm up, your ship is mostly done, the island is claimed inbetween, landlord comes and demolish your shipyard. You quit? So either u spawn on an island with gems and better be fast, or go lawless (maybe even freeport) right away!

So lets get this straight, to be able to own land you: *have to be in a company with more then 5 (aktive) member *You need to have to aim to be the best landlord there is: Keep resources unblocked, have other companies want to seattle on YOUR island *Are able to log in at least every 12h to keep up with the spam *Most important have to read WILLARDs PoV before claiming. Nothing of this is true! Your only "lord" is the upkeep!
  15. U are worng here, the only duty is to pay the upkeep! THIS is why u get it all worng. If you are fine with farming you can neglect all your other points. And tbh, farming seems to be more relaxed to me then keeping an island controlled.
  16. Oh THIS argument! It is not slavery because i can also charge of the 20€ i paid for the game, really? To summaries the system as unknown as it is (for both claimer and people without claims): *everyone need to farm more now (taxes, upkeep) *The start will be a struggle for everyone (is the first setup base save?) *no alliances anymore, because U can not totally have an/multiple alt company for your needs! *there can be Island with all resources unblocked now!
  17. Each node has a given amount of resources. With better grear u can get this amount in lesser hits, so u farm faster. With the right setup i 2-shot (full) trees for thatch, 5-shot (full) stone nodes.
  18. Why is this lame "prevention of undermeshing" mechanism still in the game. At least in PVE it is beyond stupid, i was fine with the old blackscreen mechanism.
  19. First of i agree with your understanding of the game. But how long it takes to get the Gold, BPs, Resources, Quests done? 200h Maybe. After that, game in PVE becomes Minecraft anyway! Also to get the Maps u have to stay on Land. To hord your resources for crafting, u need a base. To farm the resources in different grids it is best to build outposts (as u did) then ship them in quantities. So it still is a landgame with the need for sailing! Of course, i could tell. The loudest supporter of the new system are the guys that allready played Landloards (hord land, living from taxes) before. This is a wish, many player will know/avoid a "DICKs" Island, for them it is just minus one island on the map. Many other player dont have a network, they will never know and take it as a given. It is shocking how uninformed the "average Joe" is in this game. Anyway so many things depends on implementation. I will see how it plays out on PTR. IF upkeep is to little, i (solo/duo) will try to claim and make Anarchy Island(s) (just dont delete anything, no working on island progression/playerinteraction). Some people could call it DICK island then, but its simply an alternative use of the game mechanics, nothing to do with natural stupidity (from my point of view it is clever even :)). And i still need confimation that other companys living on a claim will reduce the upkeep, it can also be interpreted as increase of it.
  20. You dont have arguments, you support your illusion with fake facts to fit it. Reread the blog, they say each additionally company on the island is increasing the upkeep for the landlords. And yeah we need your goodwill now! YOU and your kind are why the doomsayers exists.
  21. With the news of resuse of the PVP claim system for PVE, which i heavyly disagree with (alliance gone for this--- sure), i try approach an implementable land system. Here a list of what I THINK should be the criteria: What it should do: *heavyly increase effort to grief (spam entities), preventing is a dream *make isand available for everyone (no, MMO does not mean u have to play in big companies) *improve server performance for everyone (make big buildings costy) *no taxes *make sure that buildings, if they can be build, are not demolishable form the start *have a mechanism to save smal buildings for a span of 3 weeks as of patch 20.1 (not any size of tho) What it not have to do: *prevent resource block or protection of resources (this can be done by player interaction) *reserve big future fortification space (this can be planned in advance) *promote PVP mentality in PVE (you just dont dominate in PVE, go PVP or quit) *force a playstyle to other people (ok every system does tbh) What I like to be implemented in the next update (wipe): I dont think the devs can come up with another system (time and resource constrains) for PVE then the lawless model from blog22 or a PVP-loan like from blog 23. So with what we can work with , my dream system is lawless with Rust like upkeep. *no landlords / claims at all *building prevention from buildings are larger then current lawless, but smaller then current other islands. *everyone can build everywhere (except near other foundations) *automatically upkeep from auto-repair structure *no auto-repair structure attached to a structure (not a radius) means it decays really fast (like 4-8h, repairable per pinwheel, hammer tho) *the more connected building parts the higher the upkeep per part (whole building cost/h increase exponentially with building size) *only two (maybe even one) auto-repair structure per company per island. *upkeep same for each tier of building (u may not be skilled in stone building, but u can farm every resource) *upkeep for gates really high For supporter of the blog 23 system, what do you think it achieve, make better then blog 22? ~~~ Kummba
  22. The devs will not be able to implement any other system then lawless or PVP based for the march update. There are simply no resources for it. Chose the lesser evil!
  23. This is PVE section, in PVE they have 12-x hours (x not defined yet) to demolish your stuff. Afterwards it will stay as long as u upkeep it.
