  1. To conclude my discussion with you, the example you have given above doesn't compare to what you did to your allies at all, so it does not prove your point to anyone that pragmatism is kinda above all. But on the other hand, it is very consistent with unhealthy philosophy you seem to live and function by. It is one thing to "tame" a capable freelancer and adopt him into the tribe after an open war. To betray your buddies you shared everything with, is quite another. Of course you sometimes have to make tough decisions, that is perfectly clear to a guy who rose from nothing to alpha ownership more than once on officials since 2015, and again nothing that I ever did compares to what you did and are willing to do. You see, my experience was quite different than that of yours, and while I have never led or even been in a zerg tribe which I detest (but neither have you, for you have been a proverbial servant and still are a "servant", and not an actual tribe owner), I guess I achieved the same status as you have, and arguably even more - risen to "alphadom" on officials. More than once. Heck, even though I may sound like it now, I am no friggin' saint, and have part unwillingly and part due to my huge pride wronged some of my Ark mates as well by making unfair decision which I today regret. But nowhere near to what you did and are still willing to do. If I did that, I would have no mates, no core members, only potential traitors and "interested parties" playing friends only to stab me in the back the moment I show weakness. I would have lost their respect and trust. I guess people in general are great when it comes to rationalizing even the worst things that they have done. The ability to justify anything and everything is uncanny in humankind indeed, but so far I have seen nothing here other than complete lack of character, integrity and perhaps even a hint of something worse, but not being a Freud, I will not go further. In the end, I will conclude that one does not need to be a douche bag to win in Ark/ATLAS, and being a douche brings nothing positive other than the scorn of general populace, who in majority are driven by honesty and justice, and not by values shown in the above post. I shall stop here as quite honestly I am a bit disgusted by myself even replying to this.
  2. Please, devs, allow us to build in lawless post patch again.
  3. That is why island owners would have 12 hours to radial menu delete any buildings they do not want on their island. I have little faith in even this new claim system, and consider lawless to be by far more clean. If there even will be the option to live on lawless in the new system - which I hope against all odds.
  4. What is of some concern here is the fact that these types are hidden among us as we speak. One needs to be very careful about their choices on who to recruit and where to be recruited as well. Can only be grateful that they sometimes out themselves like this.
  5. Well, you need to counter adderall with modafinil of your own lmao.
  6. I can only imagine the sauna feeling you experience there. Not only is the fire about to melt you, you have furs on top of that
  7. Meta to counter flame bear is Balista bear. The existence of "metas" alone speak of imbalance. But I don't hold this against the devs. Balance as in the ability to do same thing in different ways is hardest thing to achieve in video games. But I am positively convinced bear will receive a huge nerf soon.
  8. In order for offline raid to be a thing, the devs would first need to provide means of effective offline defense. 45 degree turn radius puckles do not mean that.
  9. There is a huge gap between a Brig and a Galleon. Let's say a Frigate.
  10. Don't be shocked if the test server gets pushed to a later date, I fully expect it to get pushed to April.
  11. You betrayed not only your allies, but your members as well, those lower ranked who had friends in allied tribe. Was this worthy of your tribe's survival. Not IMO. This is a typical bottom feeder oportunistic behavior, which in the end resulted in you and your tribe losing themselves and their identity in chinese zerg. I can only imagine how fun it was for your guys to use google translate every time you wanted to communicate with your new masters. EDIT: This type of "politics" is the exact reason why many have left Ark. Anyone who thinks promoting and glorifying values like betrayal in any context to be awesome and brilliant is a sociopath in (not so good a) disguise. Glad I do not play on NA, I find even being in a same place with these types is toxic to my karma.
  12. Oh I am willing to bet you 1 € that test will not be up by March 20. I am not a fan of megatribes myself though. It is easy to get lost in collective mentality there, and this is definitely not for me. I would give 100 zerg members for 5 intelligent and loyal sidekicks any time of day. EDIT: If in the end it turned out the devs have taken away our ability to retaliate to zerg, it will be time to pack the coffers and leave for good.
  13. You can still rebuild. Of course, it is understandable if you won't have any will do do it. Many do not. I built a huge base practically solo on EUPVP, fought for the turf first, established myself, made a base and allied myself to all the cool people on the grid. This time through, I will not be doing it solo. Turns out that this break I took acted positively on my will to rebuild. Depending on the test server results, I will be deciding if I return to the stable build or not. Advise you to do the same: test the new lawless, new claim, and then decide.
  14. what a total bastard. If that is what means to be "adaptable", then I spit on "adaptable" people. Would not for the life of me do what you did. I do not know what did you expect by posting this - a medal?
  15. We will never see 50k again, I am willing to bet you on this. Perhaps it will be 20k at start. There is no incentive to stay in-game in ATLAS like it was in Ark.
  16. The dev team seems to be unconcerned with player drop at the moment. This suggests they are funded well, and the investors have faith in their vision, whatever might it be. So, IMHO, posts like this will not move anyone or anything.
  17. Actually, not. I was a Commodore 64 person, and I totally skipped consoles in my gaming development. Maybe your statement is true for milenials and post milenials. It was C64, Amiga, then PC. edit: lol, to this day I can not for the life of me, play anything decently using a controller, even for games designed primarily for it, like For Honor. I am doing much better with K+M than that devilish controller thing.
  18. Leave the poor nerds be. People can not help what they are and sure as heck won’t pretend to be something else. If you dislike them, at least do not grief them
  19. Nothing to admire. It is a fault. My big ego and inability to be second in command is my own issue but I guess I will never chance or adapt. Frankly, I kinda consider the “let’s merge into them” or “lets ally those haughty world police pricks because if we don’t...” in a way more adaptable and perfect then myself, as they will probably survive longer and having that mentality, will actually enjoy the game under someone elses “benevolent” boot. It is something I am just not equipped to do and in that regard my hats down to them.
  20. My experience was evidently vastly differnt from yours. Big tribes indeed had some outposts on lawless but I got the whole island for my tribe and my allies. Big companies never touched me whether I was on tropical or desert area.
  21. I hope lawless is not made unlivable on. It makes a perfect staging point for building and growing your company, and, in the end, if we so choose, a starting point where an invasion can be launched on a claimed area and when zerg begins to fall apart and leave the game, become kings ourselves one day. Lawless, even as it is now, contributes to the scheme of developers maybe more than they know, and I believe that the power of free will and choice is far more positive and great than imposing a rule set to play by. More freedom to choose= the better. Hopefully the devs realize this and do not destroy lawless.
  22. I can see utility in this, but on the other hand, it takes away from immersion somewhat, by robbing us of the joy of exploration by ourselves. It would be like reading a pamphlet, with pictures and included tourist guide. Not quite fitting into renaissance world eh?
