I do have land, and am constantly looking for more for others who don't have any. While sailing around and island hopping all the time. I have seen Polar openings, and 11-day timers, but other than that, as soon as a claim comes up for grabs, there is someone on that island that lives there and has been waiting for it to expire. It is possible you found a claim, but i would chalk that up to good luck.. not "There are free claims everywhere". If you know of a free claim, feel free to message me with the coords, I have players camped on my claim waiting for land, and they would very much appreciate it.

I don't think anyone is getting "forced off" of land. but you just stated the problem there. If you don't have land, there is no way to get land. As you put it, there is NO WAY they can take your land. So we end up with crowded Lawless hobo players, and a system where new players get frustrated their first day playing.

I ran into this, it seems that the ocean floor actually counts as where the ground starts. So, even if you would like to build a base out on the ocean, it is impossible. It says "Too high above ground, cannot place" when trying to place a ceiling or stair above water in deep ocean Is there any way around this? I find it hard to believe that sea claims can only be built on underwater..... if so, then what are they even for?

either way, "most land claims" is a bad metric. Anything else...most gear %, most gold, most resources, most ships, most building pieces, most kills, most pets, most members, most letters in your name.... the land claims metric is just bad

Everyone has a 20 day timer right now, as the green "PvE expiration" timer does not work. Ask someone you arent allied with to try and place a flag.. it'll say 20 days in white, as it does for everyone, even the top companies with hundreds of claims.

The best metric to measure "Top Companies" should be total Discovery Points. This goes with PvE (Powerstones, Whales, exploration) much better anyways.. and its already a measurable in-game number, easy to figure out who is on top. This might help free up land, cause as of now, no one will give up ANY land for new/lawless players because they want that leaderboard spot

I think it would work fine if they just fixed the system they have in place. The "PvE Upkeep Timer" when looking at the flag (green) may say 2days, but when you go to place a flag, the 20day (white) timer pops up, and you cannot place. I've seen "PvE upkeep timers" on the flag go negative 3 days, and it still cannot be claimed as the flag placing timer still says 14 days. If they fix what is broke, it would work much better.

I can log in and access inventory just fine, but after like 3-5minutes the game kicks me and displays: "Kicked by Battleye Reason: Client not responding"

The PvE claim system for sure needs work. Right now, you dont even have to walk on the claim. just log in to the grid to refresh a 20day timer. Simply making you walk on the grid, or even place 1 gold in the flag, having to do that would free up many claims. The timer, should be MUCH more aggressive. 1-claim = 20 day timer 2 claims = 10 day timer 3 claims = 5 day timer 4 claims = 2.5 day timer all the way down to 2 hrs for 40 claims. And please, stop making "Land Ownership" the metric for who is the "best" company. it is making the problem worse, as no one is willing to give up land, even if there is no resources/water on it... they just hoard to get on the "Best company map"..... Maybe a score based on actually PvE, like powerstones/exp levels/krakens killed, something that is actually hard

You are parked outside one of the only Bear thatch collection points in the region, hopefully, that is not one of the spots up for trade... and if it is, I would trade all my land for it =P

Apple! your discord link is expired, been trying to get ahold of ya. I have a new set of players looking for land on the reef, couldnt squeeze a flag in between mine and yours on blasters old hill, even when i pulled up and moved my main base flags. I'll be on the lookout to grab a Tropics location for ya, unless the old C10 spot still appeals to ya Lemme know!

I had this same problem as well over the weekend. Took 2 days to fix. My only advice, is that it seems to be localized around certain zones. So if you do get fixed, high tail it out of that zone before logoff

By a "Couple of places" do you mean like 2 entire islands? that is close to the minimum timer. someone in your company maybe claimed a bit more than you might think. If thats the case, then go unclaim them. should be able to make it down to 10 claims for around a 14 day timer

did you have any launch options on the first account that is stuck, that you didnt do on the second? or workshop plugins?

It is not steam. It is only certain sectors within NA PvE. I dont remember exactly where i was sailing, but i believe I was in J13 or somewhere close. Many people are reporting the Mid H sectors are doing the same.

Sea (water) claims are being abused. On PvE they are being used to overlap or sometimes completely engulf a land claim. Also, Out in the open waters, certain companies are building pillars from the sea floor up to just below the water, damaging and sometimes sinking passers by. If no one is using them as intended, maybe get rid of them altogether. Or perhaps make so that they cannot overlap land or land claim borders.
