  1. I posted this exact topic before the wipe was announced. Now I'm posting it again but with the current build as is. So, is there a reason to leave lawless if I can make my base work for me?
  2. Note: This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. It's in the very first sentence. THE GAME MAY CHANGE.
  3. Was there a plan to eliminate those types of chat functionality?
  4. I agree 100% The 3-4 people who play Atlas with me just want a simple, decent size plot to build a house, 2 shipyards, and a pen. We're not looking for a lot. I really hope we can get it.
  5. That's certainly better, but .... still ... no one wants a landlord!!
  6. Ummmm .... no. The moment you fight against the landlord, he/she removes all of your buildings. Game over.
  7. Odd, right? Me: "Hey, can you raise the flame on the stove a little? I want to boil the water a little faster." Father-in-law: ----rips out gas based stove and installs electric stove instead.
  8. Honest question. They HAVE to have tossed about the same concerns that people here have mentioned (claims were fine just limit them, foundation spam issues...) In their meetings, what was the reply / solution when someone brought it up? Really? What was the dialog? If they DO have answers / solutions to the issues people have brought up regarding post-wipe, WHY don't the devs explain how it'll work so the player base is comfortable? There are a few reasons I see that they aren't explaining away the issues people have. They are: 1. They don't care and are so arrogant to believe that they have it all worked out and "they'll show us" / "I told you so" 2. They don't really see the same problems that the players see so they're ignoring them because to them, there aren't any issues. 3. They don't have a clue how to address the issues and are just trying stuff without any real thought behind it. 4. They vetted all of the issues players have. Their plan is mostly foolproof, and they don't feel like addressing the player base. They'd just rather us see it to believe it. Am I missing any reasons? Star Citizen devs are doing a GREAT thing by SHOWING the players their development schedule / timelines / workload ... ect. It's EXTREMELY transparent. Any development team that ISN'T as transparent as that seem like they're hiding something. They probably are. I'm not talking about hiding a cool surprise / feature / zone .. ect. I'm talking hiding stuff from the player base because they KNOW it's not right for the game but they're doing it anyway (for unknown reasons).
  9. Sorry if my sentence came off that way. That was not the intention at all. Just that the issue is completely foreign to every lawless I've been on (which admittedly isn't more than 3 servers). All lawless I've been on had open space to build and (from the looks) fairly considerate builders. I ever floated the idea to my 3 friends that we COULD build a big base on EVERY lawless server I found since land was so abundant.
  10. I get 1/2 a cookie. I liked some of your ideas .. beds / fast travel and Claim upkeep
  11. 1. They already said that there won't be claim flags in the sea. 2. A company's "bill" to upkeep all of these claims will be SO DARN LARGE that they'll never hold them all. 3. They're adding more than 100 islands. 4. Nah ... just have an admin remove the spammed pillars ect...... if it continues by the same person, then ban them from the island. 5. They're making the decay timer quicker and (I believe) you have to manually fix EACH AND EVERY piece of your building to keep it up. This will prohibit people from living there too long.
  12. I never saw a whale. I never saw a power stone. I never saw a mermaid. I Successfully ran the FoY once. I "discovered" other lawless islands and a few claimed islands and whatever "lore" discoveries I stumbled upon (prob no more than 6) I love the game and look forward to post-wipe adventures.
  13. Are you saying that the buffer size is shrinking more than it currently is?? If so, then yes, that's bad. If not then you're describing an issue that doesn't exist on ANY of the lawless islands I've visited..not 1 ... ever. So I stand by my view that PVE outside of freeports and lawless will be no big deal. Post-wipe lawless will have a quicker decay timer. Post-wipe outside lawless or freeport you need a repair building with longer decay timer. I don't see the problem. Please elaborate. I'm not trying to legit mean argue. I enjoy the discussion and hope we can continue to hash it out.
  14. I know this wasn't directed at me, but me and my 3 friends DID just that and it was awesome! We have zero lag, zero griefing, zero problem leveling and zero issues gathering resources and building .... it was great and I hope my gameplay after the wipe is exactly the same.
  15. I believe, after watching the stream and listening to the devs, building foundations ect still gives you the same distance buffer between you and the next available spot. So .... find the plot of land you like, get your shipyards and house up and you should be fine ... just like now. What's the problem? Also, there are going to be more than 100 islands added. Along with the millions that are leaving because they're ticked off, there should be a ton of open land outside of lawless to start your base.
  16. Time and the threat of not actually finding some, and still not getting it because someone logged in for 30 seconds to kill the claim..... But for real, I'm not gonna bother since a wipe is coming.
  17. NOPE... I'm on PVE.... The 2 other people I play with and I haven't ventured more than 2 squares out of lawless, but sure I'd LOVE to sit forever to NOT get an expiring claim because I don't have the resources or time to npc camp some mega company's throw away claim. (did you detect the sarcasm? ) We have our own private Ark server, 7 Days to Die server, Empirion server, Space Engineers server, and Minecraft server.... We voluntarily wipe our hard work every so often and start from scratch. It's fun with a new challenge. Cry babies who didn't expect a wipe are entertaining.
  18. Awesome!!!!!! Best news! Now I can find a nice tropical land to claim. I'm laughing at all of the cry babies complaining about losing all of their hard work.
  19. Ahhh.... That makes sense. /walks away dejected and disappointed
  20. Not advocating anyone try this, but..... I wonder if you can WAY overload yourself, die with 20k weight, then pick up the body and jump off a cliff with a glider suit. Then glide over your target ship, drop the overloaded body on the deck as you pass by. Dive bomb ships like a plane to sink them........ Except that would be a terrible thing to do to abandoned ships that take up space, so please don't do it.
  21. Has nothing to do with time management. It has everything to do with common sense. Why not put the skill for the Brig first at the lowest level, THEN learn the sloop,THEN give the ability to make the galleon, and finally the schooner?? Why didn't they?? Because that's stupid and makes no sense. Sure, not every skill progression makes perfect sense, but less complicated things lead to more complicated things. The skill to make a bookshelf is LESS complicated than a large cabinet with hinges and a lock and doors. I never claimed to want anything given to me, just that it makes sense in a logical way.
  22. My friend and I set all of the guns to SHIP ONLY and the crew to attack my target. Anyway, it's a terrible (or best case vague) mechanic and it should be a lot easier to set the crew to: Hostiles Only
