  1. move to belly, face the head, inch till u get feed option= win. easy tame.
  2. i have tamed a lot of animals...and i do mean a lot, as i tame them for my entire company and for trades. traps are nice and necessary for lions since they dismount you and kill you. when it come to elephants the feeding spot is in front of its belly, inch your way facing the head and you will find the feeding spot and never get hit. personally i don't bother with traps anymore. I just beat them, bola them straight from my bear then tame. i get hit now and then...but thats maybe once every 7 tames. I find every animal has its easy tame spot and its not hard to find it.
  3. at least you had a reason to lose it. My company has lost many tames to no other reason that random and instantaneous ground swallowing of tames. example last night we were doing many treasure maps. the second to last one was for 450ish gold. 5 of us on bears, we beat the mobs dismounted got our gold. got back on our mounts to head to ship. Suddenly someone calls out for help. His bears..randomly and for no reason SUNK into the ground to the point where we could only see his head sticking out.It could not be moved, ridden, called, set to agressive to attack nearby animals. Nothing worked. We were forced to abandon a lvl 66 bear That same day we lost another lvl 60 bears and a lvl 60 tiger the same way.
  4. they can get a bit ridiculous. I wish i took a pic yesterday i had a wall of 4 cyclones pop up in front of my brig. I literally had to full stop and wait for them to dissipate.
  5. make sure you are not mounted, you will not get the beam of light if you are mounted but the skeletons will spawn if you are mounted and get close to it. some treasure maps are just not worth the trouble. My groups was doing 150-250g maps and we ran into one on an island where the terrain was just horrible and the map ended up being on top of a massive mountain. We decided to trash it and mark that island as a never to go for treasure hunts again. The terrain was so bad our rides kept getting stuck every few meters.
  6. not sure why being a female gamer had to be mentioned but we have female gamers in my company and nobody is bored. I think your problem is you are playing solo. theres 13 in my company, we build, we explore, we do treasure hunts together. this weekend we will get together to hunt down SODs, in my prototype battleship. Last weekend we had a blast hunting sods. we trade materials with other people, sometimes mats, maps etc. we haven't even started power stones, and taming a mythical creature or making mythical bps, heck we barely started making ramshackle bps. eventually we will do whaling expeditions. Then theres the game boss. enough to do for now, and fun with people to do it with. If all fails we have a pvp branch were we can go and do all that pvp does.
  7. i wasn't griefed. I play in a 6x6 unofficial, the population is quite large, but i only see a ship stop by my island maybe once every few days.Either way in a community griefing doesn't even exist. My company thinks that now that the waves get huge its possible my ship maybe have been constantly slammed against the shore and taken damage that way, adding the cyclone damage and it just probably drained all my repair resources. My boat had been parked for 10+hrs.
  8. Seriously wth! i had my brig anchored on shore in front of my island...ANCHORED so you know it was close to shore. Apparently the storms SUNK IT!!!!! I had 1 crew member set to repair. But apparently in the last 10 hrs there was so many storms it drained my resources and sunk it?!?!?! http://tinypic.com/r/ofws4w/9
  9. i would be happy if we had the option to load our ships back inside the shipyard, for customizing, painting or just keeping in port. Otherwise they are just kind of dead space until we decide to build another boat.
  10. It seems rhinos can't gather metal out of large rocks. example my island has large rocks that gives stone/flint/cobalt, there are no other sources of cobalt. If i use a pick i can get all 3 resources. The rhino whoever will only get stone and flint out of the same rocks.
  11. I know this is suppose to have fantasy stuff and im fine with that. but any time you add subs on a game with ships, things go horribly wrong in the balance of things. Same thing when you add air units because people will abuse the hell out of them and make something like slow moving ships useless. They should leave that stuff for after the game is polishes and no longer in early acess. this is the time make the game GREAT not unbalanced to hell. Focus on things working the way they should, with all current game implementations working in a good balance. I do hope they save subs, spaceships and whatever else for some DLC years from now.
  12. do theirs stats even matter? i have just been putting it all on food on my regular crew so i dont have to worry about feeding them as often. doesn't seem like they have a stat that helps as far as sailing etc.
  13. so there is no real benefit other than you get to buy them higher than lvl1?
  14. The crew that drops from ghost ships? are they any better than regular crew? if so do higher tier ghost ships drop even better crew? how can you tell if they are even better?
  15. high up on mountains along with crystal from what i have seen
  16. I'm in equatorial zone. and i have a lvl 29 bull and a lvl 30 cow. I'm ready to get some great bulls, but I can't seem to breed them. Message about wrong temps or zone or something. Must i go to a moderate or tropical zone to breed them? or has anybody found a way around this? like can i put them in a room and light a bunch of fires to make it warmer or something? has anybody tried?
  17. at first i thought maybe it was because i kept taming low lvls 2-8 bulls, but then i got a lvl 25 then a lvl 28 and i realized it just doesn't change. I get like 10 thatch per hit. its bad enough their carry weight is so bad i must spend all their points into weight. Please buff them a bit, there is almost no difference between doing it yourself with a metal pick or doing it with a bull. Infact its probably better doing it without the bull as we can carry so much more. also they seem to get barely more thatch than wood, which means we end up with massive amounts of wood to weigh down our already super low weight capacity. Please reduce the amount of wood they gather.
  18. oil jar + 1 fire arrow= dead...undead?
  19. The current ghost ships are quite lame looking, and look like modern nuclear powered ships among the pirate age. I would love to see appropriate ghost ships...first off with SAILS. sloop=green ghost ships schooner= yellow ghost ship brigantine = purple galleon = red galleon= orange would be nice if they have their own "undead"ship look to them. They should have the same problem with wind as all other ships.
  20. Its funny i got the Bright red thinking...hell yeah..then i put it on and its a very lame faded red and the black is equally bad. Out of all the things to decide to make more realistic...PAINTs...come on. Bright red should be BRIGHT Red, offer faded red as a dye option if anything. But sure an elephant get aggro from a lion and wolves...should me 1 dumb lion in the wild that would mess with an elephant and you will just find a dead lion. Lions alpha or common should not aggro on tamed elephants. Its like they just randomly picked what should and should not look realistic without any real thought into it.
  21. The gap between a max lvl tamed animal and your average alpha is insanely large to the point where no tame can ever survive an alpha long enough to at least run out of its aggro range. I like running into alphas now and then, but the system need a fix. I suggest a aggro system based on animal. for example make it so bears, lions and wolfs don't aggro on a tamed elephant unless attacked. Because lets face it, in real life..none of them would mess with an elephant. Make bulls aggro free from wolfs but not lions. Because again..in the wild a lion would go for a bull but wolves would not unless in its a very large pack. Rhino, again...only an elephant would mess with a rhino, no wolf or lion in the wild would. Lion/wolf...well I don't see a reason why they wouldn't aggro any other carnivore. Bears could be no aggro from lion or wolf or in your face aggro range required. this way you can harvest without fear unless you get close enough to pet the enemy. This would at least give the harvester tames which happen to be the larger animals a chance to have their utility without having to lose them and retame them several times a day.
  22. I understand its a starting area and not wanting people to stick around for long. But there are so many resources there that can't be used. please allow building that expires/ self destructs after 1-2 hr. This would allow people to at least make traps to tame the bulls and elephants that tend to roam the island. It is painful but possible to tame an elephant due to them being spread out. But it is impossible to tame bulls without a trap because they aggro every other bull and are insanely aggressive even once you bola them and tend to run away to aggro any other bull around the second they get up.
  23. If they make maps smaller there will be no room to avoid sods, and to fight others i open sea or avoid them as well.
  24. Please add a way to create map point markers and a way to add notes to said markers.
