  1. FWIW I was able to get off a raft I was stuck on by equipping a glider and double tapping space when I slid near the edge of the raft. Agreed that if this is the direction they want to go then the implementation needs to be adjusted.

    Crash?

  3. A wipe will only make things worse. Right now what's out there is about as fair as it's ever going to get. After a wipe what's likely to happen is the Freeports will be a lagfest again and lots of people won't be able to get in due to the 150 player limit, and the largest companies will just sink any rafts/sloops that get built in a Freeport while their buddies go around claiming every possible inch of land and pillar/foundation spamming lawless areas forcing anyone else who wants to play to rent land from a handful of companies. Or worse, because there are already people selling claims for RL cash so maybe the botters will make an appearance. There won't be any such thing as getting everyone out fairly. At least the way things are now there are plenty of dead claims out there to contest, and lawless regions offer something for those who can't be bothered.
  4. One of the core concepts of this game is large empires being built and taking over the ATLAS, it's essentially a game made for people who enjoy the mega-tribe gameplay in ARK. This game may just not be for you.
  5. If you're upset about Chinese players, asking Grapeshot to do anything about it is going to be a fruitless endeavor. Your better bet will be to try and get Atlas banned in China. There are human skeletons and piracy doesn't adhere to core socialist values (both things that have gotten other games banned in China), so start making strong arguments and submitting them to The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television - http://www.sapprft.gov.cn/
  6. Global font has been uploaded to the Atlas Steam Workshop with a link to download and instructions to install.
  7. I would like to see them implement the same kind of thing they did with the shore lines, where SotD will wander away from the map borders and don't spawn close to them. I've had a few situations where I've loaded into a new grid literally inside a SotD, which honestly shouldn't happen so I believe it is a legitimate issue with a relatively simple solution to implement.
  8. I personally would like to see stakes you can place in the ground to designate specific areas to rent out to people, then as long as they pay their rent on time they're safe from being evicted.
  9. A wipe wouldn't make anything better. In fact, it will likely make it much, much worse if it were to happen at this point in development. There are already sites out there selling claims for real-world money. When there's real money to be made for claims and a wipe happens with all the land available for claiming, you better believe the botters will come out. One could - theoretically - get on a raft, have other rafts blocking everyone else from leaving the Freeport, sail to an island, put down a bed, have a fresh account log in, join a company, fast travel to the island, put down a claim, log out and then when that claim is sold for real world cash they'd just have to refund the game because it would be within the 2-hour refund window, and it's all profit. Repeat that en masse the way botters do with every Freeport and they'll get every island claimed up before the rest of us even have a chance to get out there. At least with the way things are now you can maybe get someone to agree to let you build a base on some of their property. Good luck getting the botters to agree to that. Sadly, similar things happen in nearly every MMO. Sometimes it's gold, sometimes it's items, this time it's claims. The botters will always show up where there's money to be made. Worse, it doesn't even need to be botters. A large 100+ company could just have one or two people hanging out at the docks in each Freeport sinking any rafts that get made so people can't get out to go claim anything while their members go and take every single island. You think the game is controlled by just a few companies now? You haven't seen anything yet.
  10. You can choose which flags people can build on, and specify specific companies you want to allow or disallow from building on your land. Or you can just set all your claim flags to not allow anyone but your own company to build on them.
  11. Sounds like every government. The big guys own the land, you pay them to live on it. But now it means that players have many more choices on where to build, even if those places are taxed.
  12. While I agree that more content would be nice, I'd think that it would be low on the list of priorities right now. Stability, performance, bug fixes, balancing and anti-cheat are all much higher priority and a more valuable use of their time at this point. Give them time to handle their business, and more content will come.
  13. My understanding is that ships decay faster in freeports as a way of preventing people from just parking their ships in freeports overnight to protect them from damage.
  14. I've been killed by other players in PVE using fire arrows as well, so there's still that.
