  4. i have to agree with u on this one , the sheer boredom of the sailing mechanic is why i rushed around getting beds set up in various places so that i dont have to continually sail , if i want the resources from that area i throw a quick sloop together for transport , there isnt enough in the game at sea at the moment to warrant really paying attention when sailing, set course open sails and go afk , with the wind in right direction even sotd are not a problem they may get a few shot off but am well out of range before any real damage is done
  5. did u read what i said , go set up a dedicated server on your pc , that how u play solo in this game , , how much fun do u think 1 map will be in a sailing game ? u build a base and ? boats wont be needed for one island ,each to their own ....
  6. yes 10s of thousabnd of gold over a single weekend , i have 3 maps i picked up a few mins ago each one worth almost 1000 gold , all in the same grid will take me less than an hour to get them all thats almost 3k gold , thats a 1/3 towards the first 10 k in less than an hour , go learn how the game works and how to maximise your gold income , i make a lot of post while sailing between grids , so whats your point ?
  7. no just no , players need to stop complaining about the dangers in the game , the devs have already nerfed the wildlife into nothing more than a mild irritation , dont remove or nerf the sea threats as well , there needs to be more threats at sea being as its meant to be a sailing game , sea monsters , more ships , add in some standard pirate galleons etc ,

  9. not at all , it means u got there before others who maybe didnt manage to log on at server launch as they were at work or in a time zone that was different and were in bed asleep , .. its not about being lazy its about a system that work well in pvp , but isnt really suited to pve in this game , no other player should have the ability to deny anyone building anything they want , or if they start to expand the island owner decides i dont like his new tame pen or the new tower , and decides to demo it .. pvp this system works well as u can just declare war take over the offending players island ,pve nothing you can do about dick island owners that as we saw in the first claim system just want all the toys in the sandbox to themselfs .. look at lawless population compared to the other grids , most lawless areas at peak times have 2-3 times more players then the other grids , so yes a very very large percentage of the player population does indeed not want to settle on islands fully owned by other bring back the old system with limit on flags ,
  10. they readjusted whales gold so the decrease is 17% not 35% now few high grade maps and a bear really? u cant net several thousand gold in a weeknd ? , a few wrecks on the way to treasure maps can net u 500 + gold thats inbetween on your way to treasure map island , first 2 wrecks i dived for that took maybe 5 mins each netted me 130gold that was while i still had my ramshackle sloop and stopped just to break up the long sail , so to say u cannot get more than 10k in a weeknd solo unless u spend 16 hrs day is wrong , do higher grade maps and wrecks doesnt take long friend of mine did 1550 gold in an hour or so yesterday doing fast low lvl treasure maps its easy if u know what to do how to do it gold is too easy , get established u will be spednding most of your time treasure maps , wrecks etc , gold will build up to the point u will have 100s of days of gold upkeep
  11. i have over 600 hours in the game , windowed mode for the game , dual montors and sailing = internet browsing , netflix and forums . , i spend most of my time in game going from island to island , there is nothing that is any real threat anymore , they nerfed the predatory creatures right down , in response to players asking for the agession radius to be nerfed not the amount , . there have been far to many nerfs to the wildlife in this game .they have all but removed any real threat for pve players .. players vs enviroment there wont be much enviroment left if they nerf wild life much more , p.s if u cant farm with an elephant and kill the predators then tame a better one or allocate lvl points into things other than weight
  12. same as landowners they also have the same choices except they get to say who can and cant build on the island they claimed , which is something the devs didnt think about when implementing this system , they were so focused on trying to allow anyone to build and make land available to everyone ,they forgot about the human nature aspect , players want thier own slice of the areas available they dont want to be told or have to ask permission to build or not , then there are players as seen from the old claim system that are selfish and want entire islands to themselfs ,this is stilla thing with this system , i have seen island messages claiming this island isnt big enough for anyone but us , u are being a tad agressive about a system that is not suited to PVE , so unless u are replying in a pve context then this doesnt really apply to you , in pvp an island owners says no u cant build here , later when u finally get established you can go to war with him and remove him from his isalnd and then taunt him with " you should have let me build" pve an island owner says u cant build anything , there is not a lot to be done , except try to grief them off the island by building so many pillars and foundations they cant keep up with the removal of them , other than that u have to accept that the game u paid for u cant play how you would like to ... you are stuck with a rules based sandbox .. gold upkeep cost is a joke no where near enough to be a worry , once established any player solo or larger companys can get 10s of thousands of gold over a single weekend , so using that to try to convince players that the gold is a reason to be able to say yes or no to settlers is a rubbish excuse , so again i will reiterate what i have said before this system is great for pvp , but rubbish for pve ,
  13. never said was in lawless ,its small no build radiius even outside lawless , nothing like it was before tpatch 1.5 adding to this , why should anyone have to be in charge as this is what the system is about , solo players / small 2-3 man companys are still owning entire islands as they did before the claim change still having the say on who and when players can build , lots of players saying ask the owners before u build , no player should have to in pve , pvp and pve are not the same in this game they cannot be treated with the same systems
  14. what do u call a large company , as 10 players isnt large , so large companys can and will eventually form to claim them , so at the moment leave them alone , i do like your idea of larger companys being given some sort of debuff if they claim more than one island under a certain size , maybe some sort of percentage loss to resource gathering or increase in gold upkeep if company size is too large for the island ,
  15. the system that was asked for and voted for in player polls was a simple limit to the claim flags per person/ comapny to stop solo players / 2-3 man comapnys owning whole islands , guess what they still do , and a lot of them wont allow other to build , PVP THE SYSTEM IS FINE as u have option to remove griefers etc PVE the system doesnt work, small no build radius allows griefing building up to others walls stoppig them building any further on their bases and in some cases even inside pens blocking in tames , no way to stop it , the old flag system worked as it gave players there own patch that others couldnt build inside and grief , was a good pve system the only flaw was the no limit to how many claims could be placed , quoting its pirate game for pve doesnt make sense , quoting its a pirate game fits pvp it makes sense as u can enact revenge for others griefing behavior
  16. lovely players that paid the same as u for the game , are glad and privaliged that you LET them build on the island that you claimed as you were faster out the gate than others .. this system is rubbish , but we as players are making the most of it , but a lot of players are either in lawless or on the larger islands that have yet to be claimed , living day to day wondering if they will log in one day to see the large island they built on claimed and their bases gone .......
  17. its not impossible to farm or get water in desert region its just clunky and time consuming , i usually fill up 2 jugs as i dig for water to drink to deposit in the reservoirs i use for farming , the original idea of reservoirs filling over time was good , wasnt OP as if u used it too extensivly for dyes / cooking u ran out , was almost perfectly balanced , it almost simulated the fact that u collected condesation as your water source ...
  18. no player should have to ask , this system in pve is a fucking joke , yes they can old claim system with flag limits and sea claim removed nothing could have been simpler there isnt one , this system the devs came up with was not asked for suggested or mentioned by any players in game or here on the forums ..all that players suggested and was voted by a large majority was limiting the claim flags per player / company ,
  19. the spam ,the fact that any player can walk up to anyone elses base and place pillars / foudnation around and even in even inside their base wall , blocking them in / stopping them from building , even if pens are large enough buidling around tames a friend of mine messaged me last night his base in tundra when he logged in had a ring of foundations all around his base as close to the walls as they could , he has been in that spot since release day with no issues , and then this the dominant suggestions made for claim system werer for a claim flag limit nothing more nothing less . base could be safe and solo players wouldnt own whole islands , but guess what solo players once again own whole islands and can stop others building . and demo their stuff , if they try to if you cant see what the issue is with this then u need to stop commenting and go read more before you do to understand what the concerns are ,
  20. then u saw noting worth worrying about for the rest of your time in game , get a couple spawns when first logging in then nothing worth worrying about for remainder of game time hahahahaha u r funny , i have been all over and tbo i dont find any area is the slightest bit dangerous ,they have nerfed and nerfed wildlife since day 1 to the point that this cannot in any shape of form be a survivival game ... there is nothing to survive ....lions 2 shot from pistol when they grab u = dead , cobras , crocs all kitable, wolfs 2 shots to head dead , and thats if u actually see any .... too many casual snowflake gamers today are ruining games
  21. i have seen a total of 3 wolfs since the game relaunched , where i am set up , used to be a bit of danger , now there is none i can harvest all day with zero danger from anything except the odd ant nibbling at me i understand the new snowflake generation doesnt want to work towards any goals and just want things handed to them , but the devs have gone too far with the agressive creature nerfs
  22. reservoirs hold more water yay at least i can go around the island now digging more holes , yet as humans in the game we can build houses , guns , ships etc but we cant find a way to tap into the water to fill the reservoirs ? condensation is a thing cold night , hot days = condensation on underside of lids / sheets etc doesnt work , why do u think i made this post , i played since release i know the game mechanics ,
  23. they dont want everyone just going straight to the trenches to collect the stones , as they probably cant work out how to program in a way to stop players who havnt completed kraken from obtaining said new stone i will however add my vote to this , why lock behind kraken no reason given by devs , so my guess is i am right and poor programming, they dont have proper quest progression set up ,
  24. from notes Fix for creatures over spawning when wandering out of spawn areas. nothing is spanwing near my base at all ? struggling to find even a bird to kill for meat / leather ? edit: found some a fair distance away from my base , first they remove most wolfs / wild animals from spanwing so much which took a lot of the danger/ survivial aspect away then they reduce overspawn and niothing is left , what are the devs doing to this game ?
  25. u need to read, a system that the onwner can clean up if he wants to and needs too ? u mean demolish when u want , it doesnt matter if they get their stuff back or not , no island owner should have permanent removal rights over any other player on the island after the expiry has run out , the 10 day decay is there for a reason , if they no longer log in after 10 days then their base is gone , u can try to sugar coat it all you want , there should never be an island owner that can remove anything he wants to when he wants to, adding to this as the owner u have 24 hrs to remove things u dont like or want , as an island owner u chose this knowing the system if you dont have enough active players to keep the island clean then tough let the island go , dotn go asking for a system change because you cant keep the island u wanted clean of building spam ,and want to be able to do it in your time when u are good and reaady and not within the allocated time ....
