  1. Current system will be: Company size 50 and 4 alliances limit = 200 people max limiting 4 companies to an alliance for small companies say 10 in each doen't seem freindly either. So being non-user friendly at what scale do you want? small or large?
  2. That's an easy one too. Have alliances limited on a player basis rather than company one. As an example if max company is 50 players make max alliance 100 players.
  3. That line is easy, anything beyond the scope of company & alliance limit. You all seem to want me to come up with a way to do it, so here goes. Put in the terms and conditions that cooperating competatively beyond the scope of company and alliance limits will result in a company wipe for all involved. Have moderators to inforce this. there you go, a quickly thought up way to do it. probably loads that could be wrong with it, but if I can think up a way in a few minutes, surely others can think up better ways.

  5. So, let me get this straight. Mega’s make up what? About 10% of the player base. (from what I’ve been able to find – could be inaccurate) Some people (no numbers found) don’t play / were driven from the game because of Mega’s. Most of the exploits / cheating is found within these groups. Why do Grapeshot even try to cater to this small subset of players? Why not try to eliminate them from the game entirely? It might be entirely possible that the games population would increase without these Mega’s in the game at all. Could be a worthy experiment to try as it’s EA.
  6. ^ Definition of doom and gloom. You are complaining that you won't be able to build on important resources!!! no wonder you think people won't want you on thier island.
  7. people seem to be looking for the doom and gloom and hating on it because yes, a landlord can destroy your stuff within a time limit and yes, people can come along and foundation spam your island. But people also play PVE because there is no conflict. Communicate with potential landlords by chat or leave a sign, don't build an ugly box, and don't block spawns. Now most people on PVE don't build ugly boxes and wouldn't block spawns anyway, so this shouldn't be an issue in most situations. Foundation spamming someones island, we can't know for sure, as upkeep cost and timing of decay is not know. I presume to make the owner unable to pay upkeep. Would this work or not? we'll need to play it to find out, it might be considered against terms and conditions? who knows. others think landlords will only allow small bases, but a small base will need little upkeep = less taxes to pay upkeep of the island.
  8. On a completely different, more competitive system. We've yet to play this new one, so we can't know for sure. But I think there will be a lot more communication on the new system and that in itself can smooth over a lot of rough edges.
  9. Cooked meals balance vitamins. problem solved. Fortitude: +30 Melee Damage: +20% Movement Speed: +10% It used to have an XP buff as well, but thats not on the wiki. That's pretty important, that fortitude alone is impresive.
  10. Up til now I've mostly come across reasonable people on PVE, exept one group that had boxes for names. The reality of taxes for most will probably be fine. As for PVP on PVE servers no thanks.
  11. you're still thinking everyone should get their own plot of land! Try giving suggestions on how "governor, tenant and lawless" can be played, that seems to be the ideal the devs are wanting.

  13. First you call him a PVEer, then go on to assume he builds PVE bases on PVP servers, even after he says he doesn’t like the looks of his own PVP bases.
  14. At this stage of the game it's hit "9" eat Fish and Chips, hit "10" eat a pork pie. (all vitamins get balanced) If you are not prepared, it can be an issue. If you can't be bothered, it can be an issue. If you don't want to play the game as it's been designed, it can be an issue. For some reason i can hit 2 buttons in the middle of a sea battle, i can also hit those 2 buttons when building base. admittedly i have the awful chore of moving my pork pies to my "8" slot when i need to tame something. You're making me feel like some elite gamer, being able to add those 2 button presses to almost any task.

So, a pirate based game, probably wanting to replicate the south seas of our own pirate era. there were unclaimed islands that pirates and other lawless people populated - Lawless And settled islands run by governers that set docking fee's taxes etc. - all others The devs probably did away with the claim flags because of overlap abuse, not because one person could own a whole island. they offered a totaly lawless server, that still fits the south seas image, just one side. people didn't want it. (I agree, awful idea) They now profer a system closer to the south seas image than before. I might be wrong about this image of the game being what the devs are aiming for, but it all fits. So lets give it go, rather than asking for the game to fit you rather than devs vision.
  16. I don't think you understand why people don't like it. Because it's not fun. Games are supposed to be fun. Challenging...yes, but this is not actually challenging...it's tedious. I like the way most unofficial servers make this more enjoyable. It always irritates me when I go to official with the shear amount of attention you have to give to farming. You have to constantly farm. If you don't, your materials get too low, and you can't get them back up by just looking at a tree. This pulls me right out of the immersion. There fixed it for you . only kidding, but you can see why I don't get your point of view for this type of game.
  17. I think most of you posting here just need to level up, it takes time and patience and helps if you love exploring. And before anyone asks, I've done no power stones and only killed 1 whale that gave discovery points. there are 100 odd levels to be had, and it's going to take months and months to get anywhere near that, long term aspirations and a lot to aim for. Good reason to keep playing if you ask me. And you'll probably have damn near every skill in the game by the time you get there.
  18. You can do it all, but it takes time. At lvl 66 my character could make just about everything in the game bar galleons and heavy cannons. And bar mythic can use any tool, weapon, firearm, armour & bow, and tame and command level 3 animals. Granted a lot of the trees are only dipped into so i can use the items, but I too want to do it all and I know that doing so means I won't be the best at more than others that restrict their builds.
  19. Also NA servers with I suppose mostly NA players will have their raid windows when most players are on to defend. So most NA players wanting to raid them will have little trouble finding raidable islands in the afternoon / evenings. You could play on the EU server so most people can't raid you, but you'd have the problem of finding people to raid yourself.

  21. yep, they need to tweek it so "a convenience" to die and respawn isn't a thing.
  22. Nice Ideas, removing the timer getting the buff would also sort out the crossing server and losing the buff issue. Also people might try harder if its a buff you loose rather than gain. (think i'll post that in suggestions)
  23. I think back in December I might have died 2 or 3 times to vitamin deficiency, then learnt the meat, fish, berries and veg balance to get the very helpful fort & XP buff. After building a base and getting a few seeds, making fish & chips and pork pies was real easy and ensured I or my company never starved or lost the buff (crossing servers ought to be fixed) again. I usually hate the get gud crown, but really!!!
