They had a thing up top about them bringing down the NA PVE server and it going to be the new NA PVE PTR a few days ago. Mating was way out on the horizon since the beginning. I do like the new trading system. I gave one person a buncha gold so they could get an island. That's about the only thing I could say I really liked so far.

PVE testserver is supposed to be out at some point today-unless something happens. guessing a patch is gonna go along with it. Im guessing around 6-8pm est tonight. As for mating. Think we are still several months from that. Rightnow they are trying to get the claim system under control. PVP. Im a nice person. I still got wiped out. Not that I cared much. I planned on going to PVE PTR anyways. They did me a favor from breaking down all my stuff. Definitely not my cup of tea. I rather relax and play the long game versus the rebuilding every few days.

Well I wont give out doomsday prophecy's till I see how the claim flags are going to be in PVE just yet. But my mind is working like this. You have island. So you want people to live on it. Asshat comes along and starts pillar bombing everything cause he wants your island. So now while your out trying to pay the upkeep. You come home to 100's of pillars everywhere. Now you get to spend the rest of your time hunting down all those pillars. Eventually you'll get tired of being griefed. Give island up to asshat cause its just to much like work. I thought they were going to implement structure upkeep to stop that but it seems they nixed the idea. So the realist in me is thinking. Lawless just might be less of a headache in the long run.

I guess im one of the few people that honestly don't care about the whole "claim flag" thing. Maybe because I had land on both live and ptr before wipes. As long as I can build a base. Hell put a few pillars out from my area to protect my base since you can build so close. I'm happy as a clam. I honestly don't want to be a slave to upkeep unless its a small island. Nor do I want to spend my days policing an island to make sure no one else is putting walls of gates or pillars everywhere. I dont want someone else dictating what i can and can't build either. I don't think the numbers are going to return to their former glory. Most people are pretty turned off by the whole feudal system. Shame too. I was hoping to see a population increase but most people aren't willing to work together.

Having played with the claim system in PTR. I'm almost tempted to say screw islands and build on lawless for live. It's easy when stuff is 6x to get gold. The cost of upkeep on some of those flags-500-600 per 12 hours. A solo person could hold it. But that's an awful lot of treasure maps. I had a pretty small island and no one wanted to live on it due to lack of resources. Face it everyone wants their own piece of paradise. I wish I coulda seen how much the upkeep went down if people were living on it. Overall for a PVE environment. I don't think its gonna go over well. I'll do some testing further when the servers go live. I don't like the tax rates. I think they are horrid. I've seen to many put it at 50%. I only had mine at 5% before someone wiped me out. I was ok with that since I intend to go over to the PVE PTR anyways. I did mourn for my lvl 28 rhino and bear a little. I didn't even get to ride them before they bit it. As for lawless. Not much has seemed to change on that front. 4 days till decay. No extra upkeep involved. No headaches of people since everyone wanted to put a claim flag. Most lawless only had 1-2 people on them. Granted this is test and the most I seen was 3k people playing atlas. Most people bombed the freeports with large shipyards. That I don't agree with. I get its anarchy rightnow. I really hope that doesn't carry over to live. I live for the rates to slow down and live to be back. Building everything in 1 day just burns the game out for me. I do wish they'd adjust the sotd spawns. I was excited when they talked about the changes. But its same shit different day. But now we have a gazillion galleon sotd's and the others that spawn with it. It's way to much and killing my will to adventure. I've seen so many sotd's on shorelines. Pathing is a mess.

Eh I just got wiped out on the PTR. Ok is the PTR PVE open yet? Cause man I have no interest in this crap they call PVPVE. You haven't been on the PTR at all Daemon?

2nd time ive lost my body/items on me today. First was had to log out on my ship due to an emergency. Logged back in all treasure maps, clothes and shovel were gone (ok someone coulda grabbed my stuff but they left the smithy and everything else alone. Log out to take a nap due to a headache inside my base after my animals flew away. Wake up dead via a rattlesnake inside my stone base.

I posted the same in the PTR non bug report thread. E3 over 20. some were stuck on shore. F3 this morning there was a bunch up too. Its making sailing and discovering islands not fun. Also watched all the animals I had on my ship fly away-literally while trying to dodge them. They seem to be making any zones that masses are in very laggy. Most of the zones only had me and another person. Ping was at 60 which is quite nice.

I did manage to get the screenshot of the Rhino.

Zoned from freeport to E3 Rhino went off the schooner into the air and bounced away. Then zoned to F3 Bear did the same thing. Tried to whistle them back but they were flying away so fast even stopping the ship they are both gone.

Not all are purchaseable at this time. You can see them. But no gold cost. Cyclops Light I believe, Hydra Light you couldn't purchase the chest. I had over 500 gold on me. Was able to get the pirate and army of the damned with no problems.

I do wish they'd bring in S+ dynamic gates/gateways. Not all of us want 12 wall high large gates to fit elephants, rhinos etc... They look totally retarded on small structures. Bad when your gate is bigger then your house.

Honestly this thing is kinda useless. Excellent job on the new small stone gateway. Can't fit a rhino through the medium or a giraffe. What is the point of this thing?

Ran over to E3 last night after the last patch. So many of them in squadrons spawned. They were literally sitting on the shore. Pathing is a mess on them. I know people aren't out destroying them. But I literally encountered 4-5 galleons along with the rest of the party in a small area. They should be more of a rare event not 20 in one spot.

Eh Winter when people start doing treasure maps. The gold will go into the flag for upkeep. Still pretty early on yet. Unless they changed that where treasure maps no longer go into them. But I agree I started building on an island-someone claimed it and set tax to 50%. I busted everything down and moved. I set my tax at 5% after I seen that no mats needed for upkeep.

There ia new claim system going in place to fix all the broken flags. That's why the test realm is out rightnow. Might wanna read back through the capt logs to see whats going on with the claim changes.

Lol I was thinking more like Aesop's Fable-the boy who cried wolf to be honest. My kitchen is clean. I've made some beignets for the-either celebratory patch or the eat away my sorrows. Now just the waiting game. Should know within the hour if its a success or not...I think.

I tried to bake the PTR. Unfortunately I was absorbed in watching GoT Season #2 and didn't hear the timer go off. It's now a burnt PTR. Please try back again tomorrow.....

It's a different system for sure Magoo. Daemon is right. Not much has changed. Your either an island owner, essentially renting from someone or living on a lawless island if im understanding it all correctly. These colonies whether you or someone else owns them. Will have upkeep based on size, amount of companies also sharing your island, and a few other factors. I'd have to scan back through the captain's logs to fully understand it all. There will be a window of time where you or the island owner can demolish newly built structures. That's the part that scares me a little. What i'm foggy on- Is what if the "island owner" quits? Does the flag just auto decay away if upkeep isn't paid. I mean so many areas that haven't made clear.

Oh that I totally agree with you. I was one of the nice people that gave up several land claims before the rent system came out. I just have a feeling this isn't gonna work as well as they expect. People that get an island are still going to hoard and not allow people to build on them. Unfortunately gaming has become 75% asshole and 25% nice people.

Yeah that part kinda scares me. I have seen some of the bigger companies and how even before these changes never maintained their islands. I already live in a slumlords house in real life. The idea of that going into a game is kinda turning me off. Every morning I wake up and think 3 months till we are shipped across the country. What the hell is my video game experience gonnna be like. Or if I don't get an island for my company to claim-how many pillars, walls of behemoth gates and someone being as asshat and breaking down the stuff we built.

Hahahah I am having my morning coffee and went to bed early last night hoping to wake up to see a download on the beta branch...Looks like another day of watching game of thrones.

What I don't understand. Why do they keep posting dates when stuff isn't even remotely ready to go. I get giving themselves an internal deadline. They shouldn't post anything to the public till stuff is 99% ready to go and be downloaded. I get things come up last minute. I grumbled about it when Ark did this repeatedly to. But I don't think Ark was ever quite this bad. Bit fuzzy that was awhile ago.

Lol I want to play but I hope they give me 45 mins more so my bread finishes rising and I can roll it out for its final rise before it goes to the oven.
