  1. What exactly is "griefing"? I take it you mean someone PVPed you and you lost. In that case you need to play better. There is little in the way of AI defense atm and what is in the game isn't very effective so instead you need to invest in solid structures that make it expensive to be raided. My tribe has a fully enclosed ship in a box with a door. Most people looking for easy kills will turn up to a base with fire arrows and some explosive barrels on a small fast ship with few or no cannon. If you box in your ship then most of the time they won't bother especially if you double layer it. My other advice would be to join a tribe with numbers. The game currently favors large tribes that have players on around the clock. ARK did as well but at least ARK had turrets that worked this game currently does not.
  2. Gliders are a throw back to ARK's OP flying creatures. Atlas was meant to be a breath of fresh air, a different game that was not dominated by tamed dinos (that part is working) nor by flyers (this part isn't working). It is one thing to jump off a tall cliff and glide to the bottom but its another thing to jump on flat land and suddenly take off like a rocket gliding for a 100m or more. That part makes no sense. The mechanics of the glider are the same as the glide suit in ARK and therefore just as broken. It is clear they have just ported over the code without even tinkering with it. The gravity pull while gliding seems to be very little which is odd considering how tiny the whole contraption is, with wings that small you wouldn't get far.
  3. It only affects PVE servers so who cares. They want to play in bubble wrap they earned this.
  4. What company were you in Karnage? it could just be a case of two different groups telling different stories and this TPG tribe having to decide who to support. It can be difficult in such circumstances.
  5. If you are on a PVP server then there is a good chance these mysterious sinkings aren't happening by chance or randomly. All it takes is one naked dude in your ships lower deck with a bunch of flame arrows to sink any ship.

This isn't meant to be a game dominated by flyers like ARK was but then they added this glider suit and you can be standing still on the ground, hit jump and then somehow you magically glide for 100m. It looks ridiculous not to mention is very much broken balance wise. Every time I see one of my team mates just jump on flat land and fly away like hes got a rocket on his back I lose my sense of immersion in the game. Add gravity to the gliders, we are not playing on the moon.
  8. Well for starters German law doesn't apply to the rest of the world. If this game were to follow German law then the blood would be colored Green instead among other outrageous things. Even the game Wolfenstein can't even use 'Swastiskas' when they make a German version of it even though the game is clearly anti Nazi. Most countries respect history good or bad and do not try and cover it up whenever it is mentioned. Rather then demand that everyone else change things to suit you, try petitioning your politicians not to create silly laws.

  10. I'd like to see more variation in storms intensity instead of just these silly looking tornadoes appearing everywhere. The first variant could be very rough seas with high waves and currents that move the boat around a lot and slowly flood the ship if lower deck gun ports are left open. The second would incorporate the first but also add rogue waves which would damage the ship and have the chance to wash players and NPCs overboard. The third would contain all of the above but would also have a large very powerful hurricane in the general vicinity that does high damage if pulled into it.
  11. Fire arrows just need to be restricted to balistas only. There is no real way otherwise to properly balance them. The bow reloads so much quicker then a gun and the fire damge being percent bases is only going to be good no matter the stats of what it is hitting. Fire arrows, glider suits and the ease on which players can board ships from the ocean are major balance issues that need fixing.
  12. I'd like to see players drown when they try and swim in armor especially plate armor.
  13. I agree with those that say this won't help stop the mega tribes. The capitol flag would simply be hidden behind tonnes of stone walls and defenses.
  14. The issue currently with ships sinking too fast is how easy it is to hit the low planks. I think their health should be at least doubled. Historically it was actually fairly uncommon for large ships to sink in battles, most of them were de-mastered and surrended or ended up being towed.
  15. In this game currently we have mortars but they can only be built on land not on ships. Historically however there were purpose designed ships that were basically a small ship with a large mortar called Bomb Ketch's. Later on these ships evolved into more larger ships similar to the size of the Galleon that had several. I wouldn't mind seeing a version of this in the game. Make it expensive, extremely vulnerable and defenseless but it would serve a purpose of being useful in besieging bases. It's range should be more then large cannons but less then land mortars with a slow reload.
  16. Sounds you want a game for lazy people or some kind of super easy mode. I guess this could be a thing for unofficial servers with their 100x rates and so forth.
  17. They would need to limit alliances as well otherwise the big companies will just split up into sub groups but still be effectively one company.
  18. It was a contributing factor. The others factors were some very serious bugs/exploits that never got fixed ie but all your best gear onto your body then log off and your body vanishes but returns when you log back in. Also broken very high pillar bases that very hard to raid. Offline Protection wouldn't work anyway for Atlas since all of these servers have players from vastly different time zones ranging from American to Euro to Chinese to Oceania. Implementing a time zone would effectively lock out large portions of the player base from PVP.
  19. Currently in the game gliders basically act more like flyers then gliders. Their drop rate needs to be significantly reduced because atm you can literally fly for miles even when starting off at a relatively low height. For instance if you drop off a 3 story building you can glide a significant distance.
  20. I think it might be a good idea to have allow each company to make a very large powerful vessel to be their flagship. This would be a unique vessel and only one could be built at a time per company. It would serve as that company's top ship and would also provide support bonuses to the rest of the fleet it is sailing with. Since the current galleon ship seems to be roughly equal to a 2nd rate (2 deck) ship of the line then the flagship would be fittingly equal to the rare 4 deck 1st rate ship of the line of which few were ever made. Rough Stats: 4 Decks More guns 1 Per Company Super Expensive Equal to about 2 galleons Has an aura effect that grants defensive/offensive bonuses to company ships near it Some real life examples of 4 decker ships of the line one of which was actually made and sailed: HMS Duke of Kent (Design Only) Nuestra Señora de la Santísima Trinidad
  21. I'm sorry but go take a plank of hardwood and then hold a match to it. Huge fireball right? In reality firing flaming arrows onto the wood that was used on those ships would do nothing. The main danger of fire on ships of that era was the powder room and gunpowder in general. Now obviously this is a game and the devs are free to add silly stuff but none the less there is still this thing called balance and fire arrows are broken and unbalanced. Dude what are you human or something?
  22. I agree this needs to change and so does fire arrows and the greek fire/flame thrower. I'd like to see ship battles coming down to maneuvering and more realistic/traditional naval tactics ie using cannons rather then just unrealistically pelting each other with flame arrows or getting close and using the flame thrower.
