  1. So sailing out day 1 through lag and rubberbanding, then keeping people online 24/7 for a week while people tried to steal land constantly in order to keep what we had claimed makes us lazy?? You have a skewed reality of things. Its not communist at all. The people in our company ~ 30 dont pay any tax at all, because our nation owns those resources and if someone comes from the outside and wants to take those resources they can but they pay a cut for farming on OUR lands. might check your definitions before making a comparison.
  2. I think the wolves were fine before they buffed them. maybe they could do without the knockback. Lions are easy just shoot them in the face when they grab you. Its the numbers tho... of all animals! the other day standing on our watchtower i counted 17 giraffes in bow rang of our fort. thats way too damn many. and I leveled from 48 to 49 killing normal wolves in ONE day. easily killed over a hundred wolves in one area in one session. kill them and they respawn ad nauseum. numbers need to be nerfed and i think that will be a step in the right direction.

  4. What I d agree with, is the ships of the damned. Should be more of a fabled thing that makes you soil yourself when you see it around. Not a scourge that one only has to sail 5 minutes and see 4 or 5 of. Having npc ships that can be attacked and boarded or sunk would be very welcome tho.
  5. Pirates are notoriously greedy. and Im positive that if they werent too few to challenge any legitimate government in open conflict they would have claimed and dominated as much land as they possibly could. So I think this fits pirates pretty well.
  6. This is a very welcome change! They could easily change the SOtD exploit by using the same damage mechanics as animals. If you aggro a giraffe and go hide behind a structure or ship someone else owns the giraffe does no damage. just apply that same ruleset to SOTD and that bit of griefing is fixed.
  7. Okay, just give them this. I can get behind this idea,. At least some groups willing to grind a bit more will maintain areas that are rich in resources, then make a killing in taxes when the rest of the area is spammed out from overpopulation and they have to come farm resources on their land. bigger companies who maintain their land properly will reap the benefits of this idea!
  8. There is something broken about the ownership mechanics on captured things. each part of the claimed ship is still owned by the previous owner. I have a ship i "own" that was abandoned on our shore, but I still cant do anything with it. Also had an issue with a member which resulted in them rage quitting the game. they happen to own the flag thier stuff was built on. so when the timer ran out we captured thier flag, but all the buildings stayed owned by them and even tho they say demo allowed we cant demo or do anything with them. I put in a support ticket. got a response about 12 hrs later (much faster than I expected) GM just asked a question about our company ownership settings and I answered. then it just went silent. havent had another response in 4 days now.
  9. Sorry for that. Ive got 300 hrs level 52 working on 53 from discovering other islands, been to at least 7 grids, seen a lot of places. and I actually look at who is where because im interested in helping this game get better. If you are solo we have room for people like you. simple rules, and lots of freedom.

We are well aware of the mechanics of the flag system, as we have been defending our territory since day 3. without the three day protection solo players wouldnt even be able to log out of the game without their stuff getting stolen. One guy is gonna get tired of running around to all his places every three days, or... he grows a community that people like to be in, or his stuff gets taken when everyone knows he is a bad landlord and no one supports him. Sure, claim to know what i don't understand. Anyway I never said that all was good in this game... far from it. There are many things that need to be fixed. Your "fix" would make things worse
  11. No i am speaking objectively. I have no reason to speak personally. You make a poor psychologist. I see the things being cried for here being damaging to the game as a whole, not for our community. As i said before our 25 people could just spread out and take 25 flags instead of 15. The flag limit wont have the result you think it will. In a way yeah it is. Maybe some people dont mind being serfs? And if you dont want to be a serf there are ways not to. I dont claim to have been everywhere in the world, but Ive been around. and Ive not seen one instance where one player has 10. And if they did it would be quite easy to take it via the game means given some time. I simply think there are too many people in the overall game for the land area available. even with people packed into 1 claim each. So instead of taking away claims that many are calling for (I know you arent, but you seem to take that personal, but many people are) or stripping land from people (which a forced reduction in claims would do). The devs need to implement a single player version for the solo players out there (win for them) add a new server if the swollen numbers keep going (win for the people new to the game that want to go get land and leaves us in peace)
  12. So much WOW with this one. "I want your land so YOU should move away" Or I could maintain a place that isnt overcrowded and many people support it. Only 8 players huh? well since 8 players couldnt control or sleep on all the claims out there it wouldnt be very hard to take some of that unused land from them. just takes a little legwork and patience
  13. There it is. "if i cant have it you shouldnt be able to either." huh? Who is dictating?? 12-15 companies on my grid most of which are working together. No dictators here. thats not a special few either. here you are again throwing spears at people who are simply playing the game as it was designed Exactly what we are doing in our territory. making it good for as many people as possible without overcrowding. which is what there will be if the claim system is removed/ harshly limited.
  14. See? people advocating for removal of claims, even tho it would make things worse. Thanks Sketch for backing up my point. And sketch go look at lawless zones. Your plan will make the whole game world look like that. Everything you mentioned can already be done without the need for some complex system in game. just work with people to get it done. Land will come available, there will be a draw down in players as every game swells in the beginning. You seem to just want everything right now.
