  1. Would be more likely to read your posts if you didn’t go out of your way to change to a font that makes my eyeballs want to explode. We get it, you’re in need of attention. If we promise to read the whole thing will you stop typing in blood soaked serial killer red?
  2. That would definately be bad. But a local only shop would be good. It’s the kind of thing I would expect to get added as we move through EA.
  3. Lol I’m not talking about my own experiences. I’m talking about the difference good and bad large clans in all mmo’s. Good ones are about groups having fun together. Bad ones are about leaders treating members like slaves. Both are large but they are dramatically different xperiences. You’ve played on my Ark server and I’ve talked with you on discord. I know already that you have the right ideas about what a large clan should be, but for reasons passing understanding some people allow themselves to become part of the other type. There will be some of those in this game most likely, but hopefully they will be outnumbered by people just having fun together.
  4. Because that is how bad large clans are run. What you’re talking about is similar numbers but a different experience.
  5. You are trying to make it better, but there are others here who are only here to @@#$& about it, I ncluding at least one person who doesn’t even own it, just hates Wildcard.
  6. Anytime you are not going with the wind, the speed sail will be useless. We’ve found handling to be most valuable.
  7. Thanks for the 411 and again sorry to distract from the thread topic, but figured it's sorta related at worst.
  8. In Ark oil is a mostly underwater resource. Wouldn't be surprised if for at least some of the oil variants its true here as well. Speaking of which, how do you even get your hands on diving gear? Is it in the game yet, need to be unlocked, because I have armor and don't see it in there. Is it accessible only through blueprints? Anyone know perchance? Sorry to go on a tangent, but in eastern temperate fish oil is all we've seen.
  9. So you patented a Confederate States of America design on the theory their patent office is long defunct? Well played my friend, well played.
  10. ZOMG! I love your choice too. Floyd is my all time favorite band. You are my new best friend. Until monday. Monday it's the guy who is gonna steam clean my carpets. But that gives you the weekend right?
  11. SoD are nerfed now to the point their speed is slow, their aggro range is tiny, and they mostly circle in place. I have traveled across multiple grids in the past few days in a sloop, come within well inside render range on SoD, and have yet to have any aggro on me. At this point they seem mostly a surprise danger when crossing zones and a thing to go around, otherwise not much threat. Other players are a different matter if you're on pvp.
  12. It was pointed out you'll need proof when reporting something of this nature. Everyone understands this issue is frustrating, but being immediately hostile towards people trying to be helpful isnt necessary. One could turn your own logic on it's head and say if you don't know how to properly report such ingame issues, then please don't bother, but we do need you to report them, just with evidence when doing so.
  13. Are you aware that crafting blueprints tend to require multiple kinds of the same kind of mat category? Example: not just requiring x amount of metal, but x amount of 3 different kinds of metal. This means people do indeed need to explore if they want to be able to make most upgraded gear, as each region tends to have maybe a couple of each type of mat category, but not everything. Thus if you managed to get your hands on an island that contained say iridium or salt, there's likely still going to be a market for it. You might need to take that product to buyers elsewhere, so sitting at home to trade might not work, but just thought I'd throw that info out there.
  14. How is anyone's guess, but when you assert always, you're doing so only under the existing system or systems you're familiar with in the past. The key would be creating a system where the benefit of having a tenant outweighs other options. I don't know yet what such a system would be, or even if they effectively can come up with one, and frankly it's something I'm a little skeptical of given their track record with Ark, but incentives dictate behavior to a degree most people underestimate. I guess we shall see whether that was just pie in the sky talk or not by the end of EA. I'm rooting for them, but I'm not holding my breathe.
  15. Hi. I'm a famous and important forum personality and as such I expect others to do things to suit my whims. Keeping that in mind, I'm also a notorious parrot racist who can't tell any two parrots apart, so I need everyone to do me a personal favor and change their avatar from the default parrot picture to something else. Preferably pictures of Olivia Munn in swimwear. Thanks in advance to all the little people like you who made my success possible more inspiring by contrast.
  16. Ah okay. I have no land so wasn't sure how that worked. Thanks for clarifying.
  17. Interviews with Jeremy and Jess prior to release indicated they want to put in incentives which would make it advantageous for companies with significant claimed land to have you as a protected tenant, rather than just kill you. I suspect one of the weaknesses with the current system, which I agree is disapointing at best, is that those features aren't in yet. When or if they get put in is anybody's guess at this point, but if done right they could go a long way towards mitigating that problem.
  18. Not too toot my own horn, but according to the forums, I won December 27th, so at least in my case, and at least once, me vs the world, I won. Also I love you Wacko, why won't you answer my texts? And what's all this about a restraining order?
  19. Are you positive they are maples? On the one island I've been to NA PVE, there are trees right next to the maples that are almost indistinguishable, but don't give syrup. The only real difference I can tell is the non maples have all red leaves, while the maples have red and green leaves.
  20. Based on the reports to date here on the forums, if there are regions where spawn rules favor predators, tundra is probably it. At this point this is the sort of thing we're all just guessing at, but providing info is good because it provides data that helps the community collectively get a better picture.
  21. It costs materials to build a shipyard. Can you allow them to build a shipyard in your territory without admitting them to the company? If so, this would be a win win, as they would have a protected place to build, and you would collect even more tax on the mats they gathered to build not just the boat, but the shipyard.
  22. All I said was, not finding this to be the case where we are. It's entirely possible spawn rules work differently in different regions. I'm in eastern temperate. Where you are may operate differently, but what you're describing is most definately not happening here.
  23. Fun further fact: The american civil war would likely have never happened without Eli Whitney's invention of the cotton gin. The gin made growing cotton on a large scale profitable and made slave labor economically viable. Some southerners still like to use the red herring of claiming the war was about states rights and not slavery, but the reality is a reading of confederate leaders own words reveals the main state right they were concerned about was the right to keep slavery legal. Disclaimer: I'm a native North Carolinian and proud of it, so don't call me a carpetbagger.
  24. oooo good to know, excellent tip, thanks muchly! Bah!
  25. This would be a skill through use system like many sandbox games have or have had. SWG was noteworthy for this. Not sure how it might work alongside a skill point per level system, but can't hurt to suggest. Are you aware there are already skills that can buff those things through the current system? Even non tool hand harvesting? Uhhh, yeah, not me, that's for sure. Was just saying it's out there, not that it's a good idea. Would love to get my hands on an elephant for wood, but not a beastmaster and can't spare the points.
