@PiszkosFred I said 8 because when I look at the other company trade routes it says 7/8, 3/8, 16/8, etc., so I figured  8 was the limit. I may be incorrect,  Glad to hear about the income, I suppose if we had 8 routes all shipping and receiving, it would make plenty of gold to build ships. 

Here’s an update for lawless PVE. The warehouses and markets are working fine. I am making lots of gold and exotic resources without doing anything. Every few minutes a shipment leaves or arrives. I can now just sit on the beach and enjoy the sun. Someday I might go fight something but in the meantime I will just grow some food and bake a pie.The key was destroying the market and rebuilding it. Make sure you limit your trade routes to 8.

Thank you @PiszkosFredfor the update! I will check the trade routes I have and demolish then remake the market if I have to. I really do want it to work. The devs just have to figure out how to make sure every company can have one on PVE.

I totally agree with OP but you should know that I have 4 farms in G4 lawless connected to a warehouse connected to a market with 8 active trade routes within my grid with custom preferences set one to one to match what they have set up in their markets and so far it has amounted to JACK SQUAT. It’s broken and sad so don’t feel bad. They will wipe again soon then you can try again.

@Muller map gold is the way I prefer. We do maps with ship wrecks along the way. The better bears you have the better maps you can collect and as @eeeceee said you can pick up blue prints and some decent items too. I think whales are a decent pay out also.

Totally agree with @Kummba. What is up with map bottles? Maps are a primary way to get gold and getting 4 out of 5 empty bottles makes me feel like a geriatric beach comber looking at every piece of trash floating in the ocean for something good. Please please fix this. Thank you!

I believe that you should expect to be attacked by other players in PVP in any manner possible and it’s not really a grief to be buried in spam, just a tactic. Big companies have been encouraged by the devs since the beginning for better or worse on all servers. When I’m “attacked“ in PVE by other players I’m always surprised because I try to help everyone and be a good neighbor. The game in PVE Is sort of winnerless and more of a past time or hobby. There is no score other than I made it to level x or look at my cool house. Like playing putt-putt by yourself or painting toy soldiers.  I really don’t know why anyone would take the time to spam someone with wipes coming all the time but they exist and they are enjoying themselves apparently.  I was just making a comment to OP about the state of the game, not trying to say one style was better than the other. 

All I was saying is that if you act like a jerk in PVP there is a course for quick retribution and in PVE you have to live with it.

I enjoy both but currently play PVE.

PVE is a big adult cafeteria with lots of tables and sometimes a real slob will sit down next to you and they will smell terrible and spill their food all over the place your already at. Complaining to the management won’t help (usually) because they aren’t interested in reforming a disagreeable customer. Move to another table until their are done. 
 

PVP Is a high school lunchroom where if your a slob they will punch you in the face and steal your lunch money so you won’t eat there anymore. That’s why all the slobs end up at PVE.
 

This feature has been turned off by the devs because it was causing lag.

My family and I have lived in Lawless on PVE for almost 2 years through 5 seasons. This happens now and then due to a bug called “Jerkface Loser”. Sometimes people act in the game like they would in real life and in PVE you can definitely spot this personality trait. I filed a ticket last season and all the offending construction of a JFL was wiped out in less than 5 days. I was shocked and think that was a rare case. You have 2 choices other than that, stay and deal with a JFL or move away until they quit or get wiped.(which is soon) Remember if you move to a different island to pop in every few days so they can see you aren’t really leaving. There are more awesome people than losers on PVE and I’m sorry your neighbor is making a fun time a frustrating headache. You have my empathy.

Lol I have been a carpenter for 30 years and still love going to work and getting something built. I have had many opportunities to be involved with programming as a job but I always thought that would take the fun away from playing. Ultima Online, very cool! I have been sailing ships on the seas since Ultima 4.

I don’t mind the restarting, I just need time frames. I will play differently in a 2 month season (I have to call it something) than I would in a 6 month one. I will just sail around in a sloop in a short season and kill hydras and drakes with carbines and collect stones for fun. In a longer ‘instance’ I would build a nicer base and try for a bigger boat. It’s not knowing that makes me cringe. But they don’t know so why should I? Hahaha

Really? Last night after they (devs) disabled markets our ping in G4 went from 255 to 70 until I went to bed.

Lol if that’s the case I’ll just sit back on a lawn chair and wait.

No offense here but why do the players have to fix the game?

So it seems now that the trades are working but the taxes are eating up all the profits. In 12 hrs I only made 54 gold, lol. At this rate I will have enough for a galleon on March 27th 2022. The Devs should say that taxing is the new way to make gold, not trading. Well maybe next wipe I will get it right. Sorry I was too optimistic.

Yes, it seems to be working better than I expected. I have 4 farms connected to the warehouse with an abundance of Iridium. I asked 150 people for trade routes and set my trades at 1 iridium for anything.(Settlers of Atlas) In 45 minutes I had 6000 iron, 60 gold and a parrot egg. It is all automatic and the biggest problem I see is that there are going to be a lot of unhappy people that can’t build warehouses. I have Settlers guilt and it’s making me sad.

*This is on PVE lawless so that the farms and whatnot I’ve built will be mine as long as I play. In order to be a good multiplayer game, there really should be room for everyone no matter when or how much you play. All it took was 24hrs to fill up a large portion of the entire world. It’s bogus.

If you read their post concerning the price for ships, they said they heard “a lot of noise”. Like we are pests or their ex’s. I love abuse so I keep playing Atlas.

I love the admission that listening to your player base means hearing “a lot of noise”. Thank you for being honest. Just the other day I asked my children what they would like for dinner and all I heard was a lot of noise. 

I love how the Devs say that a ship is a reward and a accomplishment. Then in the next sentence they say to expect a wipe at any time. I’m being told to feel good for my achievement of getting a boat but I shouldn’t feel too good because it’s going to get taken away. again and again and again. I should change my name to Tantalus. (Excepting of course I wouldn’t offer my son up for the Devs to eat.)
