  2. There were none in Ark aswell Except exploring, buiding, taming and boss That's the same in Atlas, but even better
  3. Fire arrow are good against packs, and alpha. But not to good against 1 or 2 basic. Though, all weapons are good. While with a bow you will be able to kill many creatures, even with miss. A pistol will allow you to one shot a lion/tiger/wolf easy (aim the head). So with a double pistol you will be able to kill 2 lvl 30 lion without being touch. A carbine will allow you to shoot very far and kill cobra. Crossbow is fun though, like a winchester but with arrow. But range is very low

  7. Yup, on our first test yesturday we didn't know either. And we were kinda disapointed ^^ Then I saw someone on the Steam forum saying we are able to modify the tether. So we did further test, and this is so better. Only few people know that we can actually change the value, that's why I made this post This simple value change everything imo
  8. Hello everyone, we recently did some test on the new Multi non-dedi and we were surprise how it is after some config change. First try : We kept every parameter as original, and see how far could everyone goes. The result is 450m Which is, to be fair, very low.. Here is some image to see how far it is : Here on a full grid : Second try : There is a parameter when you create a solo/non-dedi session, in general, named : Non-Dedicated Host Tether Distance. The value is set to 1, and the value is used to set how far you can go from host. On our second try we set it to 5.0 I have no image to describe, but it was better, 5x better, but.. meh... you'll be able to across an entire island, but not an entire grid. Third try : Let's go Boys and Girls, let's set that value to x25. And well.. that's awesome x) Even if as host I lost some performance (still better than official though), we could go almost everywhere. Here is first image to see how far you can go without being TP After that distance you will be TP to the host. But the real question is : Can I go to the farthest island ? We did some test on caculation, on H3, as it looks like on our very quick look, they have the farthest islands on eachothers. Here is the result on paper, we should be able to go everywhere we want : Real test : I am the little cross, my friend is on the bed. And no TP at all, or unespected move. Result : x25 seems enough, but you can possibly do more if you want. Though, the host active the grid where he's. Others members can't go on another grid if host isn't on this grid. If host change grid, other members and their boat will be TP near to host. Pretty happy how the non-dedi work. Their still is all the bug solo has Hope they get patch soon The non-dedi allow small groups (2 to 8 players) to play on the full map, as rent it cost really too much. Still waiting for ISO: Blackwood Hope this thread will help some people

One of the argument is : Most of people don't want to play on official, for many reasons - People are douchbage - Can't choose config - Can't play as they want - No mods - Ask for a loooot of time If you look on the number on Ark, people playing on official are very very very low compared to the whole players. On Atlas that's the contrary, we have almosy obligation to play official They were no solo, you can't really have your own unnoficial, cost way too much to have a good grid to have everything we need, others unnoficial are kinda bad for the moment, and more. But, that is changing. Now we have Solo They will add WPE which will give a very cool/fun feature for solo/small group Non-dedi are coming soon ISO: Blackwood is coming soon aswell, so we''ll be able to host our own server as on Ark with friend and more with only one server Mods are coming The problem with official is that we are forced to play in one kind of way While on Ark we had the choice to play where and how we want With ISO: Blackwood, a lot of people will create their own server, especially country server. There will be country server where people could talk their native language, do trade and more while they couldn't before. Now we'll have a choice to where and with who we play. Without being greif by others. And I think that's a lot of change. It will take some time to people actually come back, or to new to come. But meh, wasn't it the same on Ark at the beginning ? I myself took a pause on Atlas, cause bored of official And tried to test Valguero with friends And.. meh... after playing 600 hour on Atlas, Ark and Valguero looked so.. common.. Map looked empty, exploration was cool but nothing to do with Atlas one. Building is awful x) Items/skins/animations look bad/old compared to Atlas. The thing that were cool to see again, was a continent And ohhh, awesome, ISO: Blackwood is coming for that
  12. I agree, more mythical sea creature to hunt could be very fun. Though "mass ballista and lure" as we do on whale would take fun away from it. Maybe make the creature immune to it ? Or need special thing, or we can't lure it ? Dunno, but thooses "mass and lure" aren't very fun Hydra or whales. Both has same problem, they do too much damage, so we lure them to not die. Make them to do less damage, but be more strategic ? Dunno how.. But this "lure them" make theses fight really sad / no fun Kraken was realllly good though

  14. It will probably be the whole map, but friends won't be able to be too far from host, as on Ark Server hosting already exist though
  15. Would be weird if they never put the WPE on official, especially after all the hint in the captain log Though, we can't be 100% sure ^^

Talk with other peoples, and reread the Captain Log and saw this : That was just under the Unofficial Dedicated Server mention, so Unofficial Dedicated Server and Official may won't have some kind of one time event, but have some random respawn of thooses WPE. While on Solo it will be one time event, and you'll need/want to kill all of these scallywags one and for all. It's just assomption, but a one time event on official kinda seems weird, as few of them will actually spawn, and kinda sad if new players won't be able to meet them at all if older players rekted them all.
  17. Yup, on the Captain log they said The "on unsettled islands" scare me a bit, as on PvE, almost every islands are claimed. But they will find alternative or solution I'm sure. As BOOMERVONCANNON said, that's maybe why it comes after on official, so they can handle all of this ^^
  18. From my point of view it will be very hard to implement this WPE on a pre-existant server, but I have no real vision of it, so might be wrong ^^ Maybe they did everything we're saying ? We have really few info for now :') I just hope WPE won't be a simple SOTD like Hope there will be different faction. Hope we will be able to board them and claim their ship.
  19. That may looks like PvP, but there is definitively something more here... oh yeah.. the no cheat/grief/unfair/offline raid part :') I agree that it would be very awesome. Having to defend is almost always fun (when intended). But, I think it will be hard to implement, they will need to upgrade their IA, so they know how to get in the shore, etc.. A compromise might be a system like in Extinction ? We have a beacon ( a ship ? a box/treasure ?) and we have to defend it through waves. The better we survive, better the loot is. We'll loose the base defend part, but we'll still have a fun looks like part in conterpart, which need less dev time (I think, I may be wrong)
  20. imo the trading part is just a bonus If we always see the same encounters it will become redundant very quickly, as for the SOTD now ^^' If only one WPE sell one type of commodities, you will see one, buy what you want or when you need and that's all. If there is many different WPE, which each sell different commodity, and live in their own region, you'll want to travel, find them and everything ^^
  21. number For exemple, if you have a stack of 20 raw meat As raw meat spoil in 10mins, and the spoil time in a feeding through is 4 time slower. It will be 20 * ( 10 * 4) = 800 So, at max, a full feeding through will stay for around 800 minutes (if no hungry people).
