  1. Can't seem to find Kraken's Maw on the Atlas list, or any other umbrella server for that matter except for EU PvP. Where's the NA server at?
  2. Lucky you. I can't even log in because my client apparently can't "fetch the server info." I might need to re-roll my charcter... ugh.
  3. According to the Steam charts, the population is close to its all-time peak of 58+k, which was reached within the last 24 hours. However, I desperately wish that you were right -- we NEED less players if we can't have additional servers, and this needs to be done alongside an overhaul to the claim system.
  4. How in the name of Captain Johnson do we submit tickets?
  5. Whenever you see something dubious, record video footage of it via something like Shadowplay and submit it to Jatheist's twitter feed. That might get their attention.
  6. I'm currently sitting at level 25 thanks to a lucky level 220 rhino spawn (non-alpha creature -- for some reason, he was just an insanely high level rhino that gave TONS of experience by being plinked with a bow). Unfortunately, I haven't had the good fortune to come across a mob like this ever since, and leveling is insanely slow right now. I'm still trying to find a solid company to join, so I'm going at it solo for now. If anyone happens to own an island where high-yield mobs are around, I'd be humbled and would graciously appreciate letting me sail over on a raft to plink at it with my bow. Having a really hard time in this game at the moment as a solo player, so having a lucky break again would be rather uplifting.
  7. Animals really shouldn't be attacking player structures, plain and simple. I don't necessarily mind having them around when they discourage naked griefers from doing too much mischief on your island, so they function as a sort of natural defense in a way, but their propensity for gnawing mindlessly at player structures is obnoxious and has no good reason to be in the game.
  8. Let's go ahead and see the video footage. I'm as concerned about hacking as anyone, but I'll reserve judgment until I see evidence.
  9. You have to get out of there if you want to keep your Schooner intact. Freeport ship decay is extremely high to prevent "ship spam," which keeps them relatively clutter-free.
  10. It's no secret that Asia contains well over half of Earth's population. Roughly four and a half billion people live on the continent, and that number dwarfs the population of North America and Europe combined. Wouldn't it make good, logical sense to give them their own server to reduce overpopulation pressure on NA and EU servers? I don't want to touch on the sensitive issue of nationality, and I know it's wrong to generalize or stereotype, but I feel compelled to point out that the game's current Chinese population is causing a considerable amount of grief for many EU / NA companies at the moment. We've all probably heard stuff about why they're playing the way they play, or even whether they're utilizing exploits to gain unfair advantages. I don't know how much of this is true, and the better part of my humanity hopes it's more speculation than fact, but what I do know is that the game is simply too populated right now relative to the game's map size. Having extra servers for Asian players would help a lot. Anyway, cheers! Here's to hoping the situation improves with time. There's something special here, and I hope the game's community as a whole does more to facilitate, rather than hinder, what the game could eventually become.
  11. Didn't your parents have this talk with you at some point?
  12. The amount of Damned ships spawning right now is utterly bonkers -- to the point that it's not uncommon to see as many as five or more in the same area or even in a single frame. This is ridiculous, and it makes it really hard to go out in anything larger than a raft. Please remove these ships until they can be fixed -- clearly, the spawn rate patch that was recently applied didn't work.
  13. I mean, why? What purpose did it serve to lock smaller, newer companies and solo players out of content by forcing them to specialize to such an extreme degree and dramatically slowing down their progression? Version 7.0's skill point rebalance has utterly crippled progression for solo players and small groups, who are now forced to choose between being almost helpless in combat and being useless at playing the resource gathering / building meta. Which developer sat down, thought about skill points, and decided that the majority of players wanted to choose between being a helpless crafter or a useless fighter? Which developer decided that forcing players to be high level in order to access advanced crafting was solid game design? I'm baffled -- perplexed -- dumbfounded by this change. While I don't believe that everyone shouldn't be able to do everything, forcing players to specialize into just one skill tree is outrageous. Forcing players to rely on one another is one thing, but screwing smaller gangs of players over is UNACCEPTABLE. I don't personally find it "fun" to be forced into the role of a drone in a large company just so that we can meet crafting goals. Funny enough, when I bought this game, I had this naive fantasy of being a plate-wearing, cutlass-toting marine who raided ships on the high seas in epic PvP encounters. I guess that's a foolish little fantasy when the company I'm affiliated with wants me to stop daydreaming and get to work farming and building for countless hours like a sweatshop worker. Oh well! At least this is what the devs intended, so I should just stop being an entitled fool, am I right? Screw everyone that isn't in a relatively sizable and well-established company -- they don't matter.
  14. Grapeshot Games, please revert this asinine change to the skill point system immediately and focus on issues that matter, including land claiming, freeport bottlenecks, Damned ships, and general server stability / performance / bug fixes.
  15. I understand the design philosophy behind wanting players to specialize into certain roles, but the new system is extremely heavy-handed and, frankly, makes no sense from a game design perspective. Players shouldn't be forced to choose between sucking in combat / PvP and not being able to craft anything beyond bare essentials -- it's simply not fun for those who are forced into certain roles for the greater good of the company. Forcing folks to constantly respec to reach certain goals or participate in certain activities in a smaller company is poor game design, pure and simple. I don't really think this is a controversial opinion among the community -- indeed, you'll find very few people arguing in favor of the new skill rebalance. If specialization is going to be ingrained into this game's design philosophy, why not at least tone it down?
  16. #REVERTSKILLS Seriously, the skill rebalance in v7.0 was ridiculous, unnecessary, and cruel. This game has countless pressing issues, and a dramatic skill overhaul shouldn't be at or near the top of the priority list for the moment. Smaller companies need to be able to compete, and kicking folks in the teeth by forcing them to specialize to an extreme degree is NOT the appropriate course of action. How does locking smaller companies and solo players out of content help the game in any way, shape, or form?
