  1. Yes that is true, because they swindled us into paying for early Alpha testing. This isn't EA. They literally had a concept and some minor basic functionality. Which shouldnt have been real difficult considering it's nothing more then a glorified Ark mod with the same core code that some of the dev team are intimately familiar with at this point. I think they quite literally needed us to pay for the servers to test out the concept before they dove to deep into development of the rest of the mod. At this point I don't care if they create a diamond in the rough. I can't ever recommend this to anyone based solely on the reason that I feel I paid to be used, with almost no roadmap of the future of this game beyond the next patch. They won't even tell us what issues are actually features meant to be in game and what's actually screwed up. And it's hard to judge based on the wishy washy communications we do receive
  2. Wow your not joking are you, you are actually proud of the land grab on PVE servers. You want to seriously recognize all those fine folks that youre network issues didn't screw over the first week of launch so they could go out and claim entire islands. Hell yeah, give them a Hardy Pat on the back while you take the money from the rest of us and tell us to ship off. I guess with the current state of the game you need something positive to showcase.. That's fine I will continue to stay active in the forums, Twitter, and anywhere else I can bend an ear to tell folks to set a course far away from this game, Grapeshot, and Wildcard projects. I wanna make sure you get my moneys worth. I encourage the rest of you who feel as screwed over as I do to do the same. Don't just slip quietly off into the night. Hold em accountable
  3. Hey, what you expect. We're a bunch of pirates with no ships and nuttin to plunder or pillage. You have to expect some brutality. Now quit flapping yet gums and swab me deck before I demote you from cabin boy to alter boy . Too much?
  4. Maybe not to early to make that prediction. Look at track record since release. Alot of game breaking issues ignored or at best having band-aids slapped on them. Introducing more possibilities for griefing and not addressing the original ones. And these poor chaps couldn't make a deadline with a gun pointed at them. As it is you pull up Davey Jones locker and you'll find Grapeshots current reputation . So it may not be forgone conclusion, but it is within the realm of possibility. Gotta have paying customers to pay developers and servers.
  5. I just reinstalled during update with a glimmer of hope it might be better. Another 3 hours wasted and I'm questioning the sanity of my decision. 50 hours in this game and literally nothing to show for it save for maybe a few more grey hairs
  6. Well my 2 cents, the new ramshackle sloop despawned on me as soon as I zoned out of Freeport, left me bobbing. Nothing in log, poof just gone
  7. You bring up a good point. It can be very difficult to contest a claim. And as such, if RL gets in the way, I may have a hard time contesting a claim as well. Look, I'm not trying to be a hard case here, and I'm not the only one who has an issue with the land claim system. Most of my friends refuse to play the game because of it. We are average working stiffs with families and may only get an hour or so a day to play during the week. Usually around the same time. I'm not asking other players to like my opinion, but as a paying customer I'm going to voice it. They claim they are working on one of the most ambitious MMOs, I'm simply telling them what's is turning my friends and I off to the game and giving them a chance to respond. If this was soley a PVP game I'm fine with the system. But a very large portion of pve player play that mode for a reason. It may be time constraints, not wanting to have to look over their shoulders all the time, or maybe just want a relaxed environment to enjoy the experience. And I'm sure there are a ton more. Yes, this is a survival game. Love it, but, there needs to be a little more security. If they don't want to make concession for a somewhat casual type of gamer in pve then I'll walk away. But until they openly declare that, I will speak my opinion having already gave them my money.
  8. I do appreciate the offer. Unfortunately I have currently uninstalled the game. Because even overcoming the initial issue of an extremely unbalance land claiming system, they have yet to announce any plans for dealing with griefing and exploitation of game mechanics.
  9. So, I'm one of those guys that was on steam hitting the refresh button day of launch waiting g to purchase and download the game. Finally the moment comes I get to play fully expecting a fare share of bugs and a whole lot of lag. 3 days later I'm still waiting to play. Day 4 and day 5 I can play for 4.5 mins at a time before disconnect. Finally day 6 I can play, sure it's laggy and choppy, but hey. I'm playing. Get me raft, load up some supplies, and off I go to seek my fame and fortune. First order of business, find a little piece of land to function as my fledgling base. Unfortunately I'm still stuck on that step. Days of sailing my raft, checking islands, starving to death over and over because I would get disconnected and come back and my supplies all spoiled. Hours and hours of floating on a raft, and nothing. Days and days, still nothing. Can't build in lawless because of the gates and foundations. And no land available. Now you tell me your gonma let me get a ramshackle sloop as a consolation prize because I missed out on the great 2018 land grab. Even better, your gonna let me build on someone else's claim, for a price. I think you are trying to appease me, and that I should be happy. But I'm not. I was there on day one, I paid and waited like most. So why do I not get the right to own a piece of land without begging, stealing or renting it. Was there an issue with my money? Was it not green enough? Now say Joe Blow let's me build on his claim and at a low tax rate. What prevents Mr. Blow from maxing out said tax rate once I get established. What happens if I piss in Mr Blow's Cheerios inadvertently and he locks me out of said established base. In today's toxic online gaming environment, you are opening me up to get bent over in any number of ways. And I may or may not have fish oil handy at the time. Instead of fixing the griefing issues, you are just opening up more opportunities. So I ask Grapeshot, why the continued slap in the face. If you truly wanted to alienate so many of your potential players aka paying customers, you could have designed your network to hold much fewer players and saved yourself some money and passed that savings on to those of us whom You basically screwed out of $25. All most of us ask, is that you just give us some sort of feedback as to if you intend to make this right, and how. We don't need a when, because you would be fashionably late any way. I write, not just because I'm butt hurt, but because I care. I see the potential to truly love this game, and invest alot of time in it. Currently, it's uninstalled though because it tends to bring my blood pressure to unhealthy lvls. And I'm a healthy individual. Thanks now bring on the fanboy responses
  10. Face it guys, they didn't learn anything from Ark. They built this game off a PVP game because that's what they want to build. But they need the cash from us PVE smucks so they advertise it as a co op game as well. If they seriously wanted to make a PVE game it's hard for me to believe they didn't see any of these game breaking issues. Again, couldn't play at all for the first week and have been floating around on a raft since. Mighty fine pitate game Aarr
  11. To me a Company XP system would work great. Some of the skills could be assigned as Company skill. Company Progression would unlock higher tier abilities. This way a small mom & pop 1 truck operation and the big Alpha Companies both get to achieve the same thing, albeit at a different rate
  12. I wanna Love this game, I really do. A lot of things to really like about it. That being said, I don't even care to play in its current state, and couldn't play in most of its previous states. I took a vacation day on Wednesday, didn't release, vacation for Friday, late release, burned up two days just waiting to play the game. That's on me. Was unable to connect at all until Tuesday. Could play for about 4.5 mins at a time before disconnects and 20 min wait times to reconnect. Finally on the 26th I got to play for about 7 hours minus a few disconnects. That im good with. But the Vitamin system needs reworked, at times I had to choose between over eating and Vitamin deficiency. They just don't seem to rise and fall at appropriate rates even with the skill buffs. (and yes I understand the concept of eating all 4 food groups) It just takes way to much focus off the other many tasks in the game. Having played Ark for some time now, I like to be busy and love that aspect of the survival games. But this is too much. It would be nice for longer decay rate on food items when logged out. Twice yesterday I had to set on my raft and starve to death repeatedly till I made land fall because I would get disconnected and by the time I got back in all my grub decayed. None of this would have been a big issue except for the fact your retarded land claiming system was never really fleshed out. You seriously think on a map that can hold 40k people, that is nothing but small islands, that you can just let the players go unchecked claiming land and everyone would be happy. Thanks to my late start I have yet to find a place to claim. 6 hours at sea, playing the vitamin mini game until disconnect only to reconnect to gather all foodstuffs just to rinse and repeat. But at least I had the mini game to give me something to do while I took in the breathtaking views of the ocean. I have seen entire Islands claimed by one person. One dude is just running around making sure no one steals his land. Personally I think an Individual should only be able to claim one plot. And a Company Should get 1 additional slot. And then maybe more as the company builds in player base. And maybe having a company xp system would alleviate some of the skill issues. Have some of the higher tier stuff as company skills, maybe even the bigger boats. But my all around issue seems that you as a company don't care much for the casual gamer or family gamers. You seem like you still cater more to the big Alpha Tribes and forget about the other 30,000 of us that just want to enjoy casual play on a PVE server, meet new peeps and have an honest shot at endgame content even if it takes a little more time. And I am quite surprised that in this day in age, a game developing company who makes a multiplayer game doesn't forsee some of these issues. Do you ever stop and ask yourselves, how can we prevent douchebaggery, how can we minimize the common cumstains ability to use the game mechanics to grief other players. Just wonderin. #GiveMeSomethingIWouldRecommend
