  2. How does throwing more players at something equal "hard"? In my view that's the exact opposite and takes away the challenge... it's not hard to build anything with 60 people and 30% tax bringing in even more mats. A challenge is doing something hard solo or with a couple friends... not 20, 60, or 500 players strip mining an island then charging anybody else on that island 30% of everything they farm too.

  4. I live in the lawless region so those mechanics have little effect on my playing... But to your question of "why do I play?" Because I like sailing around exploring the world. It's labeled as a pirate MMO with emphasis on survival at sea, not a real estate MMO focused on land grabs.
  5. There's never going to be real PvP or epic ship battles as long as you can offline raid people. I personally think it would be cool if your house was the only safe place and you had to venture out into PvP zones to harvest materials and make it back so all PvP was ship battles. Park your ship in your port for the night and you're safe but next time you wanted to build or tame something it was back out into the wilds where you can lose your boat and everything you farmed but always had your house to go back to without fear of losing everything while at work, school, or sleeping.
  6. Maybe... We really don't know what they'll do. Taking away the weight sink will open up a bunch of new problems. Like overweight players logging out on or parking a pile of rafts around your boat to keep you from moving. Or just putting rafts or sloops in your shipyard port to block it.
  7. Using foundations to grief another player because you want to annoy them... Using weight to grief another player because you want to annoy them... They are both exploits if used to grief.
  8. I don't agree with what they did but "two wrongs don't make a right"... Both are in the games programming and if it was a big issue with the devs they would fix it. Sounds like you can't explain how one is not an exploit and one is.

  11. They can still hit you through open doorways if you get too close. With the half-wall method they can't hit you very often.
  12. Raising the anchor will speed up the decay process.
  13. If you do the first layer of the fence in half walls they can't get you.
  14. How long does it take? There's been a raft next to my shipyard for a week and can't even bring up a menu wheel on it.
  15. I put swivel cannons at the edge of my cage for wildlife abatement with Greek fire.
  16. I was hoping there wasn't going to be bases except for our boats, but you're right, it really is just pirate themed Ark.
  17. Come join us on lawless B6. There's room to build and now that they patched the patch we have resources again. I'd be happy to help you out getting a foothold.

  19. Can you highlight the part where it talks about spawn rate?
  20. They can't spawn in vertical buildings, right? I currently 4 tiles up, do I need to go higher?
  21. Was thinking about loading up a sloop with materials and heading up north but found a nice spot in the lawless region that was great until v10.0 hit
