Yesterday I reinstalled Atlas to see its progress since the messy launch 2 years ago (it seemed like a good time to do so since the Early Access page says the game will be in Early Access for about 2 years) and I was very disapointed to see that almost nothing changed regarding the most basic aspects of the game such as : -Mars gravity on land (ridiculous air time / jump length) -Moon gravity in water (the game still launches characters 3m in the air to get back on a raft or sometimes even just when trying to swim back to shore) -Unbearable character rubberbanding / spazzing out near basically any moving entities (animals, boats, shipwreck sending you to the bottom of the sea, etc..) -Terrible UI Since I've heard a lot of people saying that this game was just a copy of ARK (a game I never played), I thought I would check some ARK gameplay online to see what kind of polishing we could expect for these aspects of the game since they seem to at least share the same engine, and this is the moment I lost all hope for Atlas.. Apparently, this is all we'll get, there are currently on average 70K people playing ARK daily just on Steam, a finished game that is still sold for 55€ with multiple expansions and 4 years of updates, and it's the same janky mess. Two years of Early Access to polish core aspects of the game, and what we got instead are submarines and torpedoes in a product advertised as a pirate game.. what a disappointment..

I did skip a few things that are worth mentioning indeed, I'm just so surprised that something as rudimentary as character physics still hasn't been improved at all for so long. I'm not the kind of person that go rant on forums of games that I don't enjoy, I actually only complain about games I like or games I want to like and I really want to find an excuse to have fun with Atlas, but it's so hard when it's so inconsistent and unreliable for simple actions like jumping, swimming and fighting (especially compared to its main competitor for pirate games which is incredibly polished). My tests from yesterday were concluded when I finished a raft and reached an area with ships of the damned, I wanted to see if any improvement was made to their behaviour or if they are still the "typical entity", roaming a few meters one way, turning 180° and roaming a little bit the other way.. I get that they are not supposed to behave like ships with a normal crew, but still, they just feel like any random animals staying around their spawn location and it's very obvious. (Also, they do look quite bad indeed) Other than a better readability for the regular interface (health, hunger etc..), I think it could also use some more style. The menus could be similar to the "Dossiers" from ARK (I think that's what they are called), except that it would be a captain's journal with sketches of the different crafts, I think it would add a lot more personality to the menus instead of these boring gray rectangles (though the menu's style should probably be very low on priority right now). I also kind of wish the vitamin system would be toned down (quite a bit) but dying would have more of an impact. Right now, if I notice that I'm low on hunger or my vitamins are too low, I just go drown myself to respawn.. It's very lame.. I still want this game to succeed, but I just don't have much hope left for it.. Can "Grapeshot" be the next "Hello Games" and revive Atlast .. ?

You forgot to mention HATS for bears, cats and rabits tames : ))) Well... if we are going to be serious then... yeah. I also came to THE GAME of sailing age, piracy and adventures. And in 2 years there were: - just 2 more types of damned ships I fight. - Shipwrecks I occasionally dive for. - Some rebalance related to the treasure maps, and resource gathering. - Cargo saddle with storage box, I use with my horse. And that's it. That's all what was added for me in 2 years. -- I don't care about tames, dinos, hats, dolphins etc. I'm not here to play happy farm guy, that do all taming and breeding. Everytime I put alot of XP in to beastmastery - I feel sad, because I forced to do so. There is no alternative to tames in high lvl treasure map fighting. -- I don't care about all this trading stuff. I'm not here to play middle age tycoon. -- As solo player I never been to Kraken, Yeti, Thench, because game just doesn't provide any instrument to gather players in groups and do all stuff together with all other players. And yeah... I was writing and even use ALL MY POOR PHOTOSHOP SKILLS to show that, instead of this: We could see something like this: Instead of this: Something like this (I know it doesn't look perfect, I just wanna show the Idea). And even here all made wrong: And it should look this like:

This is a message to the Devs team and everyone working behind.. "Thank you! For Creating This Game!". I've seen so many Bugs and Stuffs disappearing.. And my ship flipped out on the ocean when there is nothing and sunk as all.. The harshness of Taming a creature and some unfinished stuffs and things in the game. But this thread is not about that. I really want to focus on the good things in this game that I think are missed out by some of us. It's not all that Shiny and Sunshine for me as well.. My experience with ATLAS.. is full of mixed stuffs.. Positive and Negative.. and I know the Negative do indeed outweight the Positive things like so many people already wrote down on many threads. But here I am.. Wanting to put down the amazing and positive stuffs that the Dev team actually did.. that maybe some of us missed and couldn't really see it beyond all the bugginess of the game and such.. FYI I'm not someone who are trying to defend the game or so.. But someone who truly appreciate something amazing and are happy to share it with the person that did that amazing thing. I'm going to list the stuffs that I find it amazing and truly enjoy in this game: 1. The Ecosystem I am honestly amazed by this.. although I do know that some island have a crazy species like a chicken in Tundra biome or a Cobra in Tundra as well.. But the moment where me and my friends was trying to find a wolf.. we are met by an amazing fight between a Lion and a Bear .. which is made us took out our spyglass and watching it from afar.. The fight was pretty intense and soon one of my friend joined the fight too which cracked us up with laughter. It is one of the memorable things that we have here in ATLAS. 2. The Sail Collision with the Crow's Nest and Grappling Hook Physics This is honestly can be one of the overlooked details which is amazing. The sail is actually colliding with the Crow's nest on the mast (Although I know some physics and collision doesn't really work well at all like how the ramming ship aren't able to register their damage properly) But looking past on that.. it is still an amazing feature.. not to mention the Grappling Hook!.. I am honestly surprised that such things like this exist in this game because how hard it is to implement something like this.. But guys.. it works!.. I really like how we swing around with the rope although the collision doesn't register with the rope.. but hey!.. Honestly.. not many games can implement something like this.. even more in a SandBox game like ATLAS. 3. The Animal's Animation I got to say our animation as a human is even more stiffy than the animals which honestly irks me but I just laughed at that because of how amazing they animate the creature and the animals. The Giraffe shaking his ears. The Ostritch head that looks around like how birds should move their head. I really appreciated that details that they put in here. 4. The Physics of the Ship While it might not be as best as Sea of Thieves.. I can really say it can still considered amazing.. The way the ship tumbles around on high waves and how the sail really looks like flapping towards the wind! (This is one of the best details in the game) looks awesome. I love that! 5. The Tornado I wouldn't say I enjoy the times that almost 5 to 10 Tornadoes spawned just near my ship alone to wreck me up (I think there should be something be done about this) But hey.. The way the Tornado Spawn and spinning around?... I'll give it 10 out of 10 for ratings. They totally nailed it with the Visual. 6. The Islands and Environment I believe there is not a lot that I can say in here.. But wow... The islands that we visited.. Every island that me and my friends visited.. is gorgeous.. there is even this Island that have a waterfall and a lake in the middle which.. just made us looks like a kid going to the zoo for the very first time with our eyes shining with awe. Final words I believe I can list more of the amazing stuffs that I myself find it amazing.. That this game.. ATLAS have.. and others don't.. But I know how notorious the game is for almost never fixing a bug that have been there for a long time and also neglecting the communities. I don't have a high hope, but one thing for sure.. I really want to let this positive things that I found in the game go out in here. ATLAS Dev team.. I can say you still can turn this around.. and Improve the game.. You have lots of things that no other games have.. Not even the famous "Other pirate games" have. You have the Animals Taming, The Treasure Hunt, The Ship, The Quest, The Ship of the Damned, Exploration, Many many amazing Islands and the resources in each of them. You have the things already.. What you need is to Improve them. I like how this game have so many random stuffs to do even though it's buggy. I believe if it's money that you need.. Release a ship skin.. Or an exclusive figure heads.. or Costume.. I believe it's not just me that have writing that solution here. Although I do have little hope that this thread might be read by the Dev team. But if you're reading this. You guys can do it.

Had an incident (Cobra spawned in breeding house, all animals on passive) and it managed to kill 2 of my high level breeding tames. I have since been running around the island I live on trying to find some new tames. In this case, specifically, Cows and Bulls. I have tried running around the island, killing every low level cow and bull I find in the hopes that when they respawn they come back higher level. Doesnt seem to be working, I have spent literally around 10 hours over the last few days just running around killing things and havnt seen any cows or bulls over level 23 appear. I might just be unlucky, but... Do any of you have any tips for finding higher level tames, or know of a way to force the issue? Whilst I will keep trying, as I need to find the higher level tames, it would be nice if I didnt have to keep running around killing for refresh tames for 20-30-40+ hours. Its driving me insane!!! Any tips?

Devs should at least make a statement of at least approximate time of next wipe. Will it be soon. This/next month? Because right now I can't force myself to continue my voyage, knowing that probably soon I'll have to start over again.

I pick them up when to hot, and all fires are off allready. Or if i know it will only be for a short time, i let them lose hp You can go golder biome and heat them more to avoid overheating too

Unfortunately that tall tower you have in the background is far from cool and that is one of the problems a lot of players have with the game. The tower offers no artistic value and is an eye sore that ruins the view and creates unneeded lag. having said that, the bottom picture shows some creativity went into it and it looks pretty good. i would definitely recommend getting rid of the picture on top because I doubt anyone is going to compliment you on building a tower that it not only very simple to build but dull and hideous.
