crash while crossing grids

since the wipe I have been having issues crossing grid lines. anyone else? about 4/5 times that I gird I will crash. is it a internet issue or a game issue? I feel like if it was a game issue more people would be complaining about it.

Uhm yes. The lowlevelfatal error is a weird one since every PC has it’s own solution. I was getting them because I used discord whilst playing Atlas and another dude got them because he had XMP on. Good luck on finding your solution because you definitely won’t receive a fix from Wildcard. It has been here since 2015 and they didn’t care then, and they still don’t care now.

Happens to me too but ive narrowed it down to the sextant buff. It only happens with the buff running. I have tried hiding UI, looking another direction etc to no avail. Hopefully the devs read this. The sextant buff causes zoning crashes.

What I found so far is:

- You never use ladders while crossing.

- You never use "M" button, оr open inventory while crossing and some time after. You wait until all loaded.

I personally try not to move or perform any actions a seconds before crossing and then wait for a while.

p.s. - While ago sextant buff caused crashes occasionally, but within season 4 it seems they fixed it!

I have tested everything closed every program etc etc. it seems so random. do you think having a second monitor would cause this?

 

its just too bad that they dont even try to help players figure out the issues.

Yeah, I allready left for this season. Maybe next season they fix 1 or 2 bugs, would be a good start.

 

Ontopic; very likely it's your second screen. Disconnect it, run ATLAS again and you should be good. If not, quote me again please.

I will try this but what would be causing that? I mean I am sure most people have 2 screens I run three.

I run dual and have 16gb of ram and a 1080ti which has 11gb of VRAM.  I rarely crash crossing grids.  Rare time it does happen I am using the map or opening an inventory or something.  

 

They've had issues in the past with the onscreen map when using the sextant buff.  Haven't used that since season 1 as it caused a lot of performance issues and crashed.

here is a video of some strange network issues I also deal with that I never had a issue with last season. you can see I join a grid and the ping goes nuts but my network usage is really strange. if I log out and back in a few times I fix it. I think these things are related.

I monitor temps pretty close. And haven’t been able to see a spike persay I have tried taking some load off both the cpu and and gpu with graphic settings etc. the game currently sits on a ssd drive and I was even having this issue when the game was on my m.2 drive.. I am not a computer expert but I also am not a total ibuypower noob either. The funny thing is this is also going on with one of the other guys that I play with but does not seem to be happening to everyone. Maybe I will make a video and catch a crash as it happens.

I tested playing connected to another ISP, it didn't work.

I solved my problem using VPN.

I used a VPN that offers several servers in different countries. What I found was the following.

I tested 2 VPN (CANADA) = I was unable to connect
I tested 7 VPN (USA) = I was unable to connect
I tested 4 VPN (Europe/Different countries) = I was able to play normally without LAG

 

would the server host be blocking or limiting traffic from other countries ???

I feel like this would effect everyone if that was the case. I mean I am in the US and plenty of people are playing in the US with no issue.

Ok update time. I think I may have solved the crashing issue. I first turned off the highlights button in shadow play. Then removed all the x box dvr settings that Microsoft included in thier last update then uninstalled all x box trash from my pc. Last night was the first night there was no grid crash I will keep everyone posted

New update still crashing. Here is what really boggles my mind I never crash when jumping beds only when sailing.

New update. We found 2 fixes for this issue. 

1. Connect to your router and turn off QOS (quality of service) 

 

2. Get new better itnternet I upgraded to 1000 down internet and my problem went away
