One thing you have missed about the hunger and the vitamin system is that this drives the use of the Cooking skill to create rounded meals that are very filling. And Farming is needed to get all of the items needed for a good recipe created in one place. And Farmers will need to trade for seeds from distant lands with visiting explorers. And such trade really can't safely occur with out Company bases, which we are barely starting to make right now. --------- You are missing the greater economy that is hoped for in the mid game to drive Company interaction, because its very need is driven by a food system that is hard to survive at the early stages of the game, in my opinion. Your suggestion is trying to erase interdependancy between characters, specialists in specific skill trees.

You aren't actually scratching the system very deeply. The integration of this with farming is pretty deep. And the farmers will need to trade with explorers for the seeds they gather around the world. There is a whole economy that can't really function until companies build bases for such trade to safely occur.

I have to say that the way you put 10 huge pages of info (one of which is actually too long and just gets cut off with no way to read lol) immediately when you first join the game, and then never show them again (even connecting to a new server) is definitely not a good enough way to introduce people to an MMO. Based on the way this game is constructed, and you can spawn in so many different spots, I think the best way to go about it might be to make a tutorial island map rather than having it occur on the actual server. A small single player area where you teach people the basics in the form of guided gameplay rather than walls of text. Instead of presenting a ton of information at once, explain one thing, then make the player do something that acknowledges that.

Negatively comes from the people that really don’t understand anything. There are maybe 100 games that had that many viewers on Twitch and then went down drastically, everyone knew that it was going to happen because it happens with every game, especially Early access. The lag, connection and joining problems were going to happen, you’re ignorant if you said there weren’t gonna be any. There is no company in this world that can simulate the load this game would have. So it’s a matter of releasing it and just see what happens and try to fix it as soon as possible (they are doing that right now). All the other problems such as rafts sinking, giraffes spam, alpha’s on beginner islands, that you couldn’t spawn on your bed after a while are ALL problems that occur during an early access game. People should know that. Have you even looked at the steam reviews? I don’t think you did you only look at the number. Maybe 75-90% of those negative steam reviews are either people that complain about the connection issues (which evidently is too hard for people to understand) or are complaints of the other things stated above. Those are the same people that were absolute toxic in the official discord channel of Atlas. If you want to be a part of them, be my guest. I’d rather join the group of people that actually knows that these issues come with EA, especially when you’re releasing an EA MMO and that are rather helping to solve or point out problems than just to hate on the forums. You said you played a lot of EA titles but based of on your comments, I don’t think you played any of them. I’m kind of done with the toxic community, but can’t do anything about it. You’re the guy nobody wants, but we can’t get rid off.

That you came to an Island and its all claimed is not the problem here. As it stands at the moment you can just steal the claim, take over that person base takes all he has,he will do the same to you,etc etc.. Theres just no reason to claim anything and claims have zero meaning at this moment. Claims should be like I said:a property people earned, and not taken unless given or some decay occur,it gives the owner some revnue, maybe a payment of resources, from people useing his land. Its still early release, hopefully they will find a better solution, like ARK had, where yes,it wasnt easy for new people, but if you did manage to claim anything,it was yours if you took care of it.

Hi, I've noticed that I can walk into my neighbours claim and pretty much place my claim flag down and take pretty much most of what they own, seeing as it's now in my territory. Is this a set feature? Because, if so what stops someone from simply logging off for the night and coming back in the morning to find their territory practically stolen because they can't spawn in their bed due to it not being in claimed territory and so on. Can the contesting system be disabled or altered so that this doesn't occur on PvE servers and look into an alternative system such as Rust's tool cupboard method. Thanks.

GAME BREAKING BUG: CHANGING SPAWN ZONE = BREAK CHARACTER ON SERVER
firewaffles replied to Maxi's topic in Bug Reports
Yeah, this issue is so easy to occur. I didn't notice the first cluster I was entering in. When I timed out, I just jumped into the next available one and bam, been out of commission since. There needs to be a stopgap for this. If you are going to change zone, there should be a prompt that notes of character loss. -
I am stoked to play this game. I get that some unexpected events can/will occur. All I can really ask, since I have paid for early access, is transparency. Please devs, get us in the loop. What's the status? More frequent updates of the what is going on would keep a lot of us from spamming join game. You need to update us at least every half hour.
