This isnt Wildcard, this is Grapeshot, they are a different development company that Wildcard is assisting with this.
-
Its day 4 and its EA. We could all be wiped at any time, let them do the testing and fix things, dont play if you cant handle it for now.
-
While i dont have a problem believing its real.....are you sure it wasnt just a 400 person clan gathering like mad?
-
Just join one of the public unofficial servers with 0 population, they will be about.

Death should not be a desirable mechanic

You can also put skill points into vitamin deplenishment skills, but no, noone wants to do that either, they just want pew pew pew improvement skills, heaven forbid balancing your character to survive. -
Its probably intentional for it to go up instantly if just expanding a claim circle. Sounds like a definite oversite though that it doesnt perform the same check for other claims that the initial flag would do.
-
Apparently you can plant a second claim flag within a completely claim which ignores the area it will be taking over.
-
Cant you do the same thing? And flags dont go up instantly?
-
Its intentional, so that you cant get everything you need on one island, especially the metal heavy tundra You can do trades with people to the north (if in south) of you, they need metal, you need fiber.
-
What did they do to exploit other than zerg you?
-
You have to find the treasure maps in bottles floating about.

Death should not be a desirable mechanic

I dont care if you are brand new or 2k hours in Ark, death should never be a reward. Right now if you are starving, just die, dehydrated, just die, low on vitamins, just die....there is no deterrent unless you dont have a bed nearby. -
You can protect yourself with AI's who use the bases weapons (mortars, etc) and will attack intruders
-
If you are solo, then thats the risk you take, the game is designed around companies and alliances, not the solo player. Make a friend or join a company, then you have folks who watch your claims.

There are already water barrels to fill. The digging mechanic works well, you get about 60 units if dug by hand, 500 units if dug by shovel. Grog exists, as do more advanced foods The issue is people want everything to be easy at base sklills no effort. -
Lets face it, once you have a bed down, death becomes a easy way to refill food and water and vitamins. Death shouldnt ever be a desirable mechanic. It doesnt necessarily have to be super harsh, but you should never want to use it for easy transport or easy food/water. (Making cooking kinda pointless)

Yeah, they have attitude problems down deep
-
Not sure, havent tried yet

You can actually haul people around with a carriage. And with the wagon you can tow cannons/mortars to needed locations. That being said, i cant handle taming a horse cause i know some *(@&@# will kill it just because.

Patch notes change to stealing claims
archaegeo replied to Winter Thorne's topic in General Discussion
And its "can" be claimed after 3 days, not will disappear. And yes, if you are playing solo, its a lot harder, with even 1 friend that gives you 3 days each, even if not a friend, just someone that wants to share the load and benefits. -
It's PvP, if you dont want to know you can lose everything anytime you log off, it's not the right server for you, seriously. You have to go into it like Eve, aware that stuff can be replaced and can be lost at anytime.
-
Yeah, you see those things all over, hoping to hear about more unique things down deep, like this was my first anglerfish sighting.
-
That's there in abundance, but if you take all the swimming and o2 skills, you can do some good exploration between fatalities
