  1. Lol... Just to be clear this is what I agree on, you edited your post after i replied.
  2. A company can pay gold to remove the peace timer on an island. The week before i stopped playing all our islands was war decked 3-4 times. I can't remember the price tag on it but its not cheap, they didn't even bother to attack... Basically just throwing gold away.
  3. It depends entirely on the mechanics they implement. Claimed islands are stupid easy to defend atm if you only care about the claim itself. People tend to give up when their base gets broken into, but defending the actual claim is very easy. If theres no defenders on the flag it ticks in the attackers favor, if theres one defender on the flag it ticks 2x in the defenders favor. So for you to defend a flag you just have to be on the flag more then 33% of the time or 20 minutes for every hour. As a defender you can just spawn on a bed look for a poop and then run and hide somewhere in the claim zone, when the attackers find you, you just pop the brown pill and die. Rinse and repeat. If theres several of you, just stagger your spawn and run on the flag when the guy infront dies. As an attacker you basically have to either remove every single bed on the island or knock them the fuck out before they get a chance to use a brown pill and then lock them up in a jail. The attacker can spam puckles to prevent the defender from running on the flag but if the defender put down a bunch of fence spam, the attackers will have to spend hours clearing it before they can spam puckles. If they copy pasted the claim mechanics to these tower and add a peace timer, because of how you basically have unlimited beds on lawless, attacking one of these towers would be an absolute pain in the ass. I can see how these towers can go either way. Depending on how they work.
  4. Megas have millions because the economy system the devs have implemented is just inflated af. I quit playing with the headshot nerf a couple of months ago and already then companies were dropping war decks just because they could. At this point fighting over gold makes as much sense as fighting over fiber.
  5. Theres a lot of grids that have 5-6 islands aswell but I didn't feel like counting them so i made a rough guestimate. If you want a better number feel free to count them, i am not going to object. The problem is the second you make an enemy they will target your base when you are offline and 200 gold upkeep worth of puckles won't take long to clear if you are not online. Which means you basically can't participate in any wars at all, I mean if thats how you want to play good for you. But if the devs gives you a peace timer wouldn't that be better?
  6. Probably I think you would be suprised how many islands are held by 1-3 players with no affiliation with anyone. These days 10+ players is pretty much considered a mega and theres not that many megas per server. At the start of the season I ran into a 2 man company holding one of the equitorial grids up in the top left corner A1 or A2 or something.
  7. I am thinking its EEECEEE on a new account, with a new way of trolling.
  8. Theres 121 grids, if theres on average 4 islands per grid that equals to 484 islands. EU PVP the highest daily players have been at last week wass 368 which was yesterday on sunday, usually its between 200-300 players. An island can stay claimed for weeks and months if theres gold in the flag. Theres a bunch of the claimed islands that are up for grabs... You just need to poke them with a flag or is that to scary?
  9. Yes, I was not aware you could place a silo on lawless. And yes I do not believe you have many hours on the pvp server, is that wrong?
  10. I suggest you sharpen your pencil by investing some hours on the pvp server, before you start talking about game mechanics you don't understand.
  11. 2. Yea I think that was their intention aswell, but resources are to abundent. The only resource islands I have ever fought over is the Iron wood islands. If they limited more of the rare resources to a few islands I think that could be a good source for conflict. 3. You can put a silo on lawless? Didn't know that and that covers the whole island? You would still be open to get offline raided by a drake and its not a long flight from the GA islands to lawless. I think the devs have done very little research before they started implementing changes. The barrel changes pretty much botched last season and the start of this one.
  12. 2. Then whats the point of being close to the GA, if you're not going to store it there you have to sail somewhere else to store it.. 3. How are you going to pay to pay and feed the puckles npcs without a flag? It would be a full time job to keep the puckles up. 4. Yea I am ignoring a lot of things, your lack of experience on the subject for one...
  13. They spawn faster, but whats the point of that when your resources come from the farmhouses anyways? And what use are resources any idiot with a cannon can steal from you whenever you log off? The only reason i need to be close to GA is to farm blueprints and why would i store that in a place anyone can steal them... Not to mention a bp boat even in an armored dock would 100% be sunk overnight. Making farming the bps in the first place a complete waste of time... Might use it for outposts, dont think they will live there no, its way harder to prevent griefing when anyone can fast travel there and spawn without a bed. Theres a limit to trade routes so no and storing gold on lawless is a bad idea for obvious reasons. The only territory thats even worth fighting over is the Iron wood island. If the devs actually limited the rare resources and made them worth fighting over you might be right. But they haven't... 90% of the wars is just people attacking people they don't like because of something that happened 3 seasons ago.
  14. Theres no passive defence in this game that will stop an attacker, the only way you can protect your base is if you are online. Its a hell of a lot easier to be online when the combat timer is 9 hours and not 24 hours. If you live on lawless you are just asking to get offline raided. Its an absolute shit hole, 95% of the structures are just abandoned bases full of holes... When I do treasure maps I always try to just do lawless islands because i know theres fuck all there and i don't have to worry about the map being inside some building I can't get to. Megas don't care about lawless... why would they? Why would a mega spend resources and time to claim lawless bobs beach shack? If you took 20 people to lawless how long do you think people will find it fun to 20v1 a lawless bob or shooting empty structures? Theres nothing you have posted that megas can't do this right now. Raiding lawless in the current system is laughbly easy. You don't even have to sail there, just spawn over, empty a farmhouse and 10 minutes later you have a cannon. The most time consuming thing in this whole process is waiting on the cannon timer... Afaik they haven't even released any details on the tower. If they add peace timers to it, i can see how it would be better. With trade routes a claimable island practically pays for itself and theres like 2 islands for every active player right now. I see no reason to live on lawless what so ever.
  15. Probably because lawless is a shithole and the devs are trying to give people a reason to live there.

    Wipe

Pretty sure it just looks at who's playing atlas on steam, so it will include private servers and people playing single player. Won't include xbox players though.

    Wipe

I just looked at the numbers and noticed the past 3 seasons have been wiped when the average player numbers were between 1400 and 1500 players. https://steamcharts.com/app/834910 If they wipe because they have a major patch or they do a major patch because they wipe. I don't know.

    Wipe

Season 2, 3 and 4 had between 1400 - 1500 average players when they were wiped. Average player numbers right now is at 2100 and we lost 24% of the players in february, if that continues this month we'll be at 1500 players at the start of april.
  19. If you got it to 50% in 28 minutes you can probably kill it with your current ship. Flintlocks and carbines do a lot of damage to tentacles. I am pretty sure if you carry a carbine and a few flintlocks, you can cycle through them and kill the tentacle before you even get in cannon range.
  20. When you punch a tree or a rock you take damage. I am not sure if that is percentage based or not, but if it is and you hit the tree for 100x normal damage i'd assume it would one shot you.
  21. You can use rear facing swivels with canister shots instead of cannons, if you shoot the Hydra main body the splash damage will damage all the heads. Cannister shots weigh almost nothing so you can carry loads and the ship will still be fast. The best way by far is to just go to F7 or one of the other islands with easy hydra spawns and just kill the hydra over and over. When you have 9 keys you do the golden age lap, I know you play solo but if you had an alt account or a friend they could just afk on the boat and generate extra keys. 3 people would give you 9 keys in 3 hydras. If delivering the keys go smoothly without any creatures blocking the cave entrance you can deliver all 9 without having to use the cargo rack exploit. Obviously deliver the keys with the lowest time on first.
  22. Seems like the devs have a vision of some grand RTS game where trade and gathering is automated and the players are just there to fight over who controls it. I don't see how the game is ever going to support that vision with the current upkeep of npcs and ease of spamming npcs/structures.
