  1. A snarky opinion that is totally in line with the development teams and the majority of responders on this thread "buddy". Oh, you're right, weve just pulled into Winsville, this is my stop.
  2. Oh dear, I've no interest in getting into a pissing contest with you. I could easily win it, but would have ultimately lost just by taking part. Others have said it, if you can't see why it was broken then I don't know where to start. Dev's agree, the end.
  3. You need to chill out. That's a poor basis for an assumption. Come with an atitude and you'll likely get one back, I was slightly regretting not being a bit more gentle in my reply, not so much now. Turns out you probably are as arrogant as I thought and actually think you were doing something difficult that your average child couldn't master.
  4. Well I am sorry you feel your fun is spoilt. Personally I don't like the things full stop and am happy to see the use of them curtailed. I'd actually rather they were gone full stop, but I'm not going to make a thread about it. I think you are making a presumption again not born out by the current facts of - Fixed a bug allowing players to reset all glider cooldowns by moving the glider between hotbar slots - Increased the required minimum diving velocity before going into the glide-fall state to reduce gaining/maintaining height Two seperate adjustments, you sure I'm the one that needs a clue there? As you were offering them out.
  5. You have a funny sense of humour, and by funny I mean dumb. Your presumption that you know better the intent of the designers and that hotbar slot switching is somehow an intended mechanic is one of the most ridiculous and downright delusional things I've heard in awhile. I seriously do not have enough palms or face. Jesus wept.
  6. Personally I think the glider is a dumb carry over from ark whatever lore reason you wrap around it. It doesn't belong, end of. As for moaning about the nerf? Hilarious.
  7. I have allies, quite a few of them and quite a few people who would help me allied or not it seems. It doesn't make any differance, it is far, far too easy to penetrate land defenses for the outlay in time and resources building them compared to knocking them down, and very little skill. I mentioned this when they performed the staggeringly dumb double nerf to stone, increasing it's costs and crippling it's defensive capabilities. Especially when I don't recall anybody complaining about stone being too hard to pentrate in the first place.
  8. If only there were "players from all over the world" and "players working every work shift playing this game", then they could raid them.
  9. Officers pants skin seemsto be broken. Trying to apply to apair of plate trousers, wont work. Used them before, stack size seems to have increased to 10 again. Cheers
  10. May as well put this here to Yeah... well got my base in lawless raided and everything stripped down to stuff that would be totally useless like my cooked fish and meat. I am a solo player who plays as a crazy pirate role-player. I spend my time giving out info, helping others because I weirdly find that fun Logged on at the tail end of it where they were building another schooner to supplement the 3-4 ships they'd brought to carry away all that I'd spent the last few weeks building up so perhaps I could go try do something different and fun in the game like build a brig and put some cannons on it and try killing some SotD or getting into an exciting battle at sea. My level 38 weaponless transport Schooner sunk at port, the pair of near cap bears I'd spent great effort in getting? Dead. My horse, my pigs for poop for my farm, my wolf and lion all executed. My Parrot and Monkey which were part of my role-play shtick which I was quite attached to both slaughtered. My Elephants dead along with a couple of others I'd tamed as a gift for a helpful chap dead .All the gold I'd taken weeks to build up so I could maybe hire some NPC crew gone. The 4-5 Parrots I'd tamed as a gift to give to some people I'd met living in the frozen tundra killed Yeah fuck this and fuck the devs for making this easier with the nerf to stone. Fuck the fact that it was a bunch of Chinese players when I am playing on a server marked EU (not that they were Chinese, the fact that this server is not advertised for that region and I think I am right in having some expectation of an EU player-base on a server advertised as EU that will be largely playing in the hours kept by EU citizens). Even managed to (pointlessly) kill a few of them naked, they were truly terrible with one managing to point blank range shoot his colleague I was punching with a blunderbuss as opposed to me. Fuck teams that come into lawless with 3-4 ships during work hours to pick on players there and, once again, fuck the devs for encouraging this by nerfing my only protection while offline of having prioritised building up a layers of walls and gates, even had a few puckles up covering all angles inside the inner perimeter. I didn't put up cannon towers etc because this seemed kind of like a dick move to pull in a lawless zone bordering freeports on new players just finding their way. The only reason I even caught any of this happening, albeit far too late as all the above had already happened, was because I had to pop home during my work day to grab something to continue my work day and thought I'd have a quick check on things while I drank a coffee. Fuck a game that punishes me for having the temerity to sleep or work, it's fucking retarded. To blow through two sets of gates and 4 walls should at least be prohibitively time consuming and expensive, it is neither of these things. It is way easier to knock them down as opposed to putting them up and I'm sure a lot more fun too, not to mention lucrative. I already have a job, I don't need another. It's nothing to do with PvP either, I've played PvP games with persistent worlds and base building 15+ years ago that managed to not put their player-base through this crap. The fact that recent changes have made this worse, when it was bad enough already, feels like a targeted “fuck you” in my face from the dev team to whom I've given my hard earned cash. Not that I haven't had positive experiences, a few players piped up the other night to say that my crazy role-play antics brightened up their day. I was actually touched that people remembered my sea rescues when everybody was spawning in the centre of the map at the bottom of the ocean and that “I did an amazing pirate voice”. Bollocks to it, I really haven't the energy or enthusiasm for it anymore. Oh and to the idiot going on about NPC protection etc, I had an outer and an inner layer of gates in the direction they came from, 4 sets of walls, 6 npc's on puckles, 2 high level bears, a lion, 4 Elephants, 6 pigs, 1 horse and a partridge in a pear tree and it barely slowed about 6 players who were so "leet" I managed to kill 3-4 of them naked with one of them blunderbussing his colleague at point blank range as opposed to me when were both stationary and I'd run out of stamina, am naked, armed with nothing but my fists and he's in full plate. It's not like I even want to build a gigantic fort in the first place, just exist a little beyond spending the first hour of my playtime spawning in a freeport and sailing out of there in a ramshackle sloop you fucking end.

  12. I find this odd as when I have gone on raft when meeting a non allied friend who didn't have permissions to ally I slid off the raft, made the mistake a couple of times and had no probs freeing myself up as I remember. Still, I feel for you. However I still prefer it to tosspots sinking my ship I'd put 30 levels in to, losing everything on board and being stuck halfway across the map. I can avoid jumping on peoples rafts.
  13. Just to clarify my feedback. This change to stone makes no sense in the context of reducing it's durability at the same time, if anything it should have moved in the opposite direction with this new resource cost. Stone's durability is far too close to wood (which I do not believe should be made weaker) for a craft that requires you to go to the end of the construction tree and also has this heavy a craft cost. I am fine with the resource cost but only in the context of shifting some resources around map wise. The fact that there are tropical paradises abundant in every resource type (Metal? You got it. Crystal? Sure. Gems? No Problem. Sap? Loads of it. Oh and have loads of wood, fibre, thatch, and stone too. Also have good weather and the most aesthetically pleasing "piraty" environment... really?) with a highly defensible topography seems off kilter to say the least. If you are going to make it so Tundra regions are so harsh there should be a trade off for that, currently I am struggling to see one. Thanks.
  14. No, it's totally an opinion. It is literally just your opinion, that what it is "your opinion" not backed up with anything other then your personal experaince and subject to personal bias. Which is fine, but it is just your opinion. End of. Not a fact Now my opinion as an essentially a solo player with a pretty beefy base is that I got raided at the start when my base was small, I have lots of solo players around me in my zone with smaller bases, they get raided a lot. I haven't been raided since the first week in, not once. Those who only have the time and effort to get to the zone (lawless, not stuck here but not really ready to move and... well it's working fine for me at the moment) and build a small wood base generally last about a night, they get their doors bashed in by casuals having a laugh and their stuff taken, let alone anything else. This isn't a fact either, but it is the experience of an actual solo player surrounded by solo players.
  15. Yeah, that's just like.. your opinion man. And not a fact. Also, you're suggesting making it even easier. Really not sure where you're going with that.
  16. The Logic doesn't work here, you're encouraging small or solo players to build bigger as effort somewhat increases exponentially with size. Go small and anybody with a little bit of time can break in and take all your stuff, go really big and it takes a megatribe to do so and as a general rule they are busy messing with other mega tribes.
  17. No offense but maybe he doesn't want somebody stealing his tiddlywinks every single night. The reason is obvious.
  18. That's the biggest thing thing I don't understand about these changes and turn them IMHO into bafflingly dumb. Increasing the difficulty of building 3 or 4 fold and then make them easier to take out and not far off the early skill tree wooden structures... Erm exsqueeze me? baking powder?
  19. Agree that they need a mid size gate option. The large gate is needed to make a safe spot for ships (I am unsure if the Galleon fits through, if anybody wants to clue me in) and I think perhaps the game even needs a larger one for this purpose, albeit extremely resource inefficient for the space it covers to prevent any spamming issues occuring and with not much greater health than the large. Also, erm... why aren't you using floors? I have had no problem creating contigous looking walls using the floors (foundations).
  20. Yeah, well it's primarily a PvP game to be honest, obviously... pirates? Also if you love PVE you have plenty of options, which will only increase, for a private server where you can set the resources as you want to make pretty stuff to look at.
  21. I think PvP should be encouraged to happen at Sea. Also raiding bases without active player protection is PVE, fort's should be hard to construct yes, but raiding them should be a rare and extremely costly occurrence. Like I said in a previous post (along with other things) put rare and needed resources (in any decent quantity) in special zones you cannot build in, have ships that need to be setup for trasnport and they forgo defence for this purpose and encourage what this game should be about, piracy at sea.
  22. Nothing I suggested would lead to this. I suggested that the stone structure nerf stay, but not to this degree and certainly not where it is so close to the durability of wood, a material that is far easier to obtain, transport and arguably looks better, and also suggested that catapults be made into the structure siege weapon of choice, giving use to a little used weapon while also giving a nice thematic feel. Also offline raiding is PvE and I believe PvP should be encouraged to happen at sea. Make zones that you cannot build in (I would assume this was the intent of lawless except for where they are generally positioned) and place the majority of the juicy resources there, requiring that people fight to obtain them and have to transport them with vessels designed and setup for transport and not fighting, increasing opportunity for... you know.. piracy.
  23. I too do not understand a patch that both massively reduces the raid durability of stone structures whilst simultaneously also making them 3-4 times more difficult to craft. If you lack access to a particular resource you are doubly screwed by this, I have friends in cold regions who already lack any source of sap near them, which they already need in large quantities just for staying alive and providing themselves with fur armour. Adding metal to the mix seems to be particularly salting the wound. Any patch that makes offline raiding more of a thing is not a good move either in my opinion, if anything stone structures should have had their durability increased with this material change. If they wanted to achieve something like this they should have added a new structure type “Fortified Stone/Castle wall” and then nerfed the durability of regular stone to assault (and not to where it is now, slightly above wood apparently”) and given this new structure these material costs and moved stone up the construction tree and maybe increased skill point cost to get to the end of the construction tree. Make the sections large and only suitable for building outer walls (say 2 x 2 of the current wall size), presumably this would help with server strain as it would be less individual objects to track and load. It was already not all that hard to mount a cannon on a cargo saddle and bust through stone so I am left to ask “Erm.... why?” I also think the damage change should have been more to the catapult, a generally not very useful/used weapon where it's new function would be for taking out land based structures as I believe (correct me if I am wrong) it is pretty poor otherwise. A ship kitted out with a few catapults is not going to be great at sea combat, but would be a specific vessel used for besieging bases. I consider this change very ill advised and not tremendously well thought out at the moment.
  24. As title Top hat skin doesn't function for shoulder pets correctly. Hat is sized as usual and attached to feet. Thanks
