  1. They never said that, the foundation range reduction was for lawless to allow more people to build. The side effect was even more pillar spam which is not as bad as massive gate spam.
  2. The stuff is there, its not rendering yet. You can test it by logging in and running, it will run on top of the stuff and it wont let you run through walls. So the server/client know it exists but its slow to render. Its the engine along with some server issues but mostly badly coded engine performance coupled with a bad client.
  3. They could spend 2 hours on the UI and make it 10x better than it is now. Don't need a specialist to make the icons legible (if they do we are all in trouble).
  4. Mixing rendering (client side) with server lag. These are not the same thing. I hope you knew that Top End.
  5. You sound upset. Lower yields would not deter me. The change to the stone recipe due to PvP nerfs did not deter me at all, 1x would not deter me either. Ya dig? The data from 3 custom flags is more data sent than the data sent 1 time to your client to be able to render the base. Continue thinking this is hard on servers, its not. Devs have stated it recently in live dev chat and could settle it here for you if they wanted.
  6. Render times are slow, even the devs state that ships kill things along with AI.
  7. Going to be 8 times bigger. And this only shows a small portion of the total build. Mountain fortress, dungeon, massive monument all still in the works. Also has 8 ziplines which get you to all points of the property quickly with signs pointing the way to all the different resources like opals, emeralds, iron, syrup, crystals. And a massive trade market with 40 different things for sale and offers to buy (on billboards inside the building so you can see everything easy).
  8. I have tested it by going to both and testing lag and pings. 99% of the server lag in ping comes from the player count, go visit an empty island (there is tons) then visit here late night with 5 people on and see no difference in lag. The data for static structures being pulled from the database is not a lot (even when pulling 8000 static pieces one time to your client), the constant feed of data from AI, people, ships which move and have tons of detail, dwarfs the data pulls for structures. Client side rendering is on you but at running speed it renders fine (flying in renders are slow).
  9. I did it all by hand at 1x and 2x along with 2 bonus weekends. And static structures like this do not lag the servers, you have no understanding of server architecture, lantency, ping, fps, rendering. AI, movable objects like ships, animals, people (by far) lag the server with high pings. You could easily test it by visiting this then visiting a barren island and you will notice nearly no difference in lag. Now you know. tons of smaller things everywhere, this is unique.
  10. L6 PvE Onocastle NE corner. The docks are mostly for visitors, had 5 traders at once so now they can pull up and unload elephants even right up on docks (all deep water). Also there to stop someone from ploping down a shipyard at a janky angle and messing up the view (tons of places to build still on the island).
  11. https://imgur.com/a/3ipWkTo 8000+ pieces to build this so far and lots more planned. Please add more types of building blocks like triangle pieces that are half of a square and anything else. Very limiting currently but still fun, this is only a small portion of the total build. Day time shots: https://imgur.com/a/a79Wy6C
  12. This happens and will happen to 1000s of people and the game will will be better when this is addressed.
  13. Mortar and Pestle Simulator is fun though!
  14. Lighthouse Point Over 8000 blocks to build, deep water port with zipline access to 6 docks and a massive trading market. https://imgur.com/a/EqKLXLx
  15. Devs this has been an OLD bug. On PVE anyone can destroy your lighthouse. 9 times I rebuilt mine on PVE (the timer does not reset). Friends get griefed by people and simply gave up building theirs. It starts with a 2 day timer but does not reset with active log in. EDIT 10 times now. In less than 16 hours it got demoed again by same greifer in PvE
  16. I play on EU PvE in Lawless L6 on Onocastle (the north island) and enjoy building more than sailing. Built a large harbor with docks for quite a few traders at once (had 5 at once one afternoon). 2 pics of harbor and trading market with large easy to read signs. https://imgur.com/a/YTg8P1l People find the place randomly but if the devs had some sort of box that allowed for trades and this site would list the locations of these trading box and their contents then more people would sail around and pull in to restock on cannon balls, cannons, planks, sails, ammo and anything else for sale. These guys could do more of what they like and less of what they don't like (smashing rocks). I know a lot of people enjoy sailing and ship combat and do not enjoy harvesting/crafting the mats to do it but there are people that like that. This would spur a ton of travel and it would not have everyone flooding and lagging freeport, it would be all over the map and at every island (as it should be). Anyhow I hope the devs move trading higher up the list. Market building is expanding to make it fit in with the rest of the harbor. Ziplines to and from base to docks for faster travel. This game can be a lot of fun even for people that build. Cheers
  17. The engine does all or nothing, so foundations on metal would kill the spawn. You could kill and grief an entire island that way.
  18. Played a ton (over 460 hours). I have not seen lag this bad since release night (even that might have been smoother). I used to be able to look at the ping and guess how many people were on, it was always a direct relation. Late night 6-12 online and ping would be 50-60. Now its 130 solid, and worse yet during the evening. All day long people are talking about it being worse/bad. Your server devs screwed something up badly. Have fun fixing what you broke.
  19. Unlocked a ton of land then reclaimed after they quit, some have stayed on and the area has a nice community. Lots of unlocked reservoirs, 90 lanterns controled by one lever for lights at night, an always lit lighthouse etc etc and pot stoves and smithys for use as well. Even the piers have access for unloading and loading elephants. Ziplines out to all 4 zones on the piers and ziplines from gems back to base and down to ships. Place is decked out
  20. Some people abuse it. Others like me do it to stop the gate spam which blocks off entire areas to people. They spam massive walls or build a hut on a metal node to keep it. Dozens of people have come and gone from my bay on the island I build on. I open the land, they build for 2-3 days then poof gone, quit. Then I demo and put their stuff in boxes for a week and wait. One returned and I gave them their stuff back and their home was in tact. Another nice home I put up signs saying dont demo please, someone demoed it and built and ugly box and has now left the game. I get the fun of demoing that too now. Not to mention the countless boats abandoned. Decay should be tied to hours played and active in the area. Not active and not in the area? Decay starts and by decay I mean actual decay till it vanishes. I made a corner of the island into an amazing harbor with 8 ziplines and tons of nice features all well decorated with 90 lanterns and the place is alive. Making changes to lawless would destroy this place and make it look like the rest of lawless which looks like CRAP. Pic of harbor: https://imgur.com/a/ctF8jUe The archway over the large gate to the inner harbor is 16 units tall for scale. This has been a massive project and changes to lawless would destroy it. Tons of people visit all the time and do trades and explore the property and harvest the resources (it has signs to each resource). Making changes would simply turn this nice place into the junkyards which clutter the lawless lands.
  21. Anyone can demolish them on lawless (very old bug they have not fixed). I rebuilt mine 8 times but now its been alive for 2 weeks because all the jerks left the game/island and now we have just nice people left.
  22. The majority of people live and exist on lawless, claimable islands are ghost towns. And you want to punish 70% of the player base? Stop trying to make people quit, enough have quit already.
  23. They are piling up on shores. They block building and ships. They look terrible and they are ALL abandoned. And the dinghy as well. This is an EASY fix.
  24. Should have to pay upkeep for 'claimed' land in lawless. I live on lawless and would support some sort of resource rent for the area you have.
