I've literally been sitting here all day.. I crashed.. and my ship sailed into busby island.. so I repaired it.. and noticed wind had flipped.. to opposite direction. I've been watching it. it doesn't go 20dgs it goes 20, 20, then storm, flips, 20, 20, 20,storm flips.. etc. It hasn't gone anything south of east or west for last 6 hours.. and I need a southerly wind.. alternatively, I'll need to cross O/A line and hope the wind is better there and then get a westerly back to my base 2 regions away. Or I wait here.. Growling.. It's currently slack wind, in the fog, nor'easterly..

I'm not in ark forums telling them how to make their game.. it really is that simple.. don't play.. no rights. Been waiting 6 hours.. it was due south.. then it changed to due north.. then ne.. then nw..then north again.. Do I need to turn my ship to the north to get the wind to go south? It really does feel like the game purposefully switches wind direction.. that it isn't rng at all. East, West.. Ideally South.. any of the combinations.. would be great thanks. I've turn my ship to point north.. see if I can trick the wind gods to sending it south. 6 hours.. sitting here.. errgh..

Is it a waste? How so? I can cook meat faster than I can collect berries.. there are almost none at all on my island. Not every island has them you know.. but we have plenty spiders and thus tons of meat.. I also have a spacious farm, so plenty of vegs as well. As for feeding 20+ ships etc.. Don't see what the issue is.. it isn't like they eat much, if you aren't playing. Region is unloaded.. Anyway.. conversation with you is clearly pointless.. since you seem only capable of arguing against anything I say.. hell, I could agree with you and you'd call me silly names and say I was wrong. What's the difference between the flag and the silo? Er.. nothing? The graphic maybe.. so how exactly is it qol.. It's actually another thing you have to build and worse, you have to put points in esotery to get it.. That said.. beside the bank.. it's probably the only other useful item in esotery.. It isn't improving my QoL at least.. it's another skillpoint sink.. that I really don't need.

It's also obvious. Pity you're blinded by your holiday humour. The silo is not really worth any qol at all. If it could be filled with cooked meat, farmed vegs, cooked foods etc. Then it might be useful, otherwise.. it's as bad as the food larders. Would be even more useful if you could make several of them, like one next to farm, one next to market, one next to cook/bar.. etc. But you just put berries in it. Might as well just use the flag. It's also only available with esotery and doesn't even cost stone to build it. It should be available with advanced tools or at least wooden structures since it is one. And if you're not playing.. you don't really. You have no current build experience.. so really you shouldn't be commenting at all.

Just sailing along, CTD. Memory leak maybe.. Followed by black screen of infinite loading.. probably my character still ingame. Finally logged in to my ship anchored off an island. Which it had collided with as the game still thought I was onboard. There's no error checks for unresponsive players? How does the ship know when to stop, when the avatar vanishes?

Yeh then there is this.. or the people who quit after 2-3 hours of play.. but have a half built house in your backyard.. I understand the need for server performance and maintenance, but such short periods of enforcement are what is causing people to quit, there has to be a more amicable middle ground. 10 days.. isn't really. If lockers and chests last 40 days.. why not make all structure last 40 days as well?

On mythos weekends it displays that I have 60 default fortitude. On normal weekdays it displays that I have 30 fortitude. This is rerolling stats, at lv 1. In order to get my fortitude upto 60, since I play mostly in tundra/arctic. I have to add stats upto 60/90.

As title. Exited to main menu, due to the fortitude bug, that causes it to be incorrectly displayed. During the transition, the game ctd.

This is a typical response from you willard. One obvious question.. if you don't go online for days.. why do you even bother? Since you aren't playing anymore, you're essentially backseat arguing about the games development. Something many of you accuse realist of. Since he also, by not having the game technically has no right to make complaints about the game. IF you're not playing other than to log in "every few days" neither do you. As to my reply: We are.. the problem is being forced to test in specific circumstances, where ships cannot goto specific islands whilst this testing is being done. That said, I personally, would expect a developer or community manager to have these answers. Since it is apparent, you don't either.. nor anyone else in the community. (You won't since you don't even play anymore, but only login to maintain your base) In fact it seems quite apparent, that between the devs, the wiki and the large fan base.. noone really knows any facts about atlas. Esp not to those of us, who actually play the game on a daily basis. As for refilly 20 boats or towers.. It only pays gold and basic food maintenance.. it is full of flaws in it's design. Doesn't refill our main loss.. ie ammo or ship maintenance.. The loss in gold/food is minimal. The majority grind is in wood/thatch/fiber/metal/alloy/coal & flint. You can't grow these in a farm. If anything the new system, which I have praised in it's basic form, stops crews from mutiny by offering a lifeline. Outside of this, it's really a useless change. Takes only a few minutes to replenish food in larders etc. Now we're expected to grind massive amounts of berries? Safeguard our flag gold.. with no information ingame on when exactly the next maintenance will happen or when the next crew payment will occur.. kinda vital info for running any organisation.

One of the most basic aspects of Ark/Atlas/Guns is the antisocial hours the game demands. It's been an ongoing issue for people who take sebaticles or extended holidays with parents/friends over 2-3 weeks or who have to work away from home etc, that being out of the game arena for several weeks equates to losing everything. I'd say it's one of the primary reasons why people do not return to ark, because there's nothing to return to. Personally, I think it's just an extension of the attitude of the developers lack of care for its gaming community, which seems obvious to me, not just due to it's stance on pvp or pve but overall of it's attitude towards everyone. As we say in scotland.. like it.. or lump it.

I have every right to complain if I want to complain.. but it sounds to me like you are seeing every comment as a negative.. when i see comments in their positive light. Feedback is important, good, bad, positive,negative.. swearing, insults etc incl. To a degree. As for hating everything, you couldn't be further from the truth. I don't hate anything. I want to see changes to improve some aspects of the gameplay.. the only thing I do actually hate.. are threads from people on private modded servers or who have made comments about the games difficulty, when they're known to cheat or support cheating.. imho.. those people should not be commenting on the core gameplay, since they don't play the core gameplay. As for me sounding like a 19 yr old.. maybe that explains why people irl have no problem talking to me..

The odd thing I'd found about faction based games.. pirates of the burning seas and others.. it wasn't so much the faction choice that caused players to choose one side over another, it wasn't a particular weapon being more powerful or easier to use.. it was purely down to local resources and ease of access. People naturally gravitate to the easiest way of playing.. in planetside however.. alot of people chose the harder to play sides because they were harder to play.. similarly to people in atlas choosing to live in the 15s and 1s.. because it's harder.. but if you had factions.. they'd need to be set to specific areas.. I think we'd soon see a dominant faction, because it had the best access to resources, not for any other reason. And in atlas, resources are spread quite thinly esp as you try to make mw and above items. Which would make the game at least as one sided as the current mega corps issues. Some people would be happy with this setup.. preferring the hardcore playstyle.. others prefer the command structure of hundreds of players.. but most would just go where it was easiest. And in that sense, factions would be pointless. As indeed is living in a small or moderate company, unless you're dedicated.

This is true to an extent.. but not all of the tools are provided.. otherwise I'd not be suggesting something. Your suggestion.. doesn't fix the problem, it just ignores the problem.

Or ask some friends to help you.. obviously, you'd need friends for that.. maybe they can add that as a function for crewmen, to be your friends.. (to much?)

If you shop around you can get some hdd deals for only a few bucks, but then you get drawn into the upgrade cycle.. worth, value cost etc. If you really needed a new hdd you'd probably find the money for one.. the issue here really is.. 5.1gb patch.. 126gb demand.. most people have that 5.1gb to spare.. or can easily make it up, 126gb on the other hand. That's deleting some major filing or buying a new hdd, waiting a few days then installing it. A delay of several days.. which when you log in expecting to play in a few mins.. can be abit of a downer.

It's available from Esotery of Building, Stone buildings like lighthouse etc. It's the top most item selection.

Build a better ship.. some mw planks on rear.. mw racks.. ignore the sotd.. just sail past em, repair the minor damage. Weight sails, with a mix of spd and handling is all you need. Don't overweight your galleon, goes without saying really. Unless you're making a warship. Why do you need more sailing points? You don't.. gameplay.. takes time. You don't get everything instantly..it'd be boring if you did.

That's the drive I actually use.. only it's a 250gb. Which is mostly windows, drivers, 3rd party apps etc like streaming stuff, editing etc. I use my 2nd drive for steam games and misc storage. Yes.. I could buy more hdd space.. but that doesn't solve my problem in the short term. Your advice was useless. Essentially, you sounded lofty and insulting. I resolved the issue before you even replied as stated in latter posts. For someone who claims to have 30 yrs of pc experience your advice was lacklustre and your general attitude I find childish tbh. You'll notice I don't call people dumbasses or douchbags etc.. You manage that, all by yourself.
