A few ship builds in we (2ppl, small company) build our first Brigantine, we build it on EU PvE M8, southeast island Longuay Island. We set sail for Alberval Island for treasure farming; we anchor between the two biggest northern islands close to land. After tree successful treasure hunts we logged out on our Brigantine. The next day after work I logged in and sadly saw that I was dead somewhere out of sea near the Island!? What the heck…. Looking at the log after respawn, I did see that a Ship of the Damned lvl 17 has wrecked the ship. What I can imagine happened was: The ship of the Damned can sail so close land that it took us out or Server rollback 1h or something like that, so we respawned out of sea to meet our destiny. Our Ship was anchored for sure; I really hope that anchor can’t get lose due to waves and wind. Yes I know, the game is in early access, but this is really frustrating. Any thoughts? BR/H

Iam still building a new Brigantine at now and iam still thinking about ist best usecase. I allready own a well shaped exploration ship, so i thought about a battleship. 2 x 6 gunports + 3 large sails = 15 npc crewmembers. Their upkeep will be very expensive and this leads me to my real question: Is the loot quality of the Ship of the Damned realy sufficient? I dont believe so... The crew upkeep is high, the materials needed for the repair and ammo must be farmed and at the end there is alway the risk to lose the entire ship. As long as the loot does not exceed 100 gold, hunting is not worth it. Until then, it makes more sense to avoid the ships and go simply tresure hunting. But with this realization, you quickly realize that you no longer need an expensive fighting ship. This somehow seriously jeopardizes the entire PVE concept.

On my PVE 2x2 server there are 11 ghost ships that I can see from my base in a Free Port. Each time I set sail there are at minimum 6 Ghost Ships in my view almost all the time. They need to be reduced by 80% to become more playable or sailing is always a doomed adventure. Also, Why are they in power yachts in a game about pirates and SAILING?

I just think that The Ship of The Damned model looks too alien and it would better add to the pirate atmosphere if it looked like a regular ship that rose from the bottom of the sea covered in seaweed with torn sails. It also might be cool if they could submerge and then emerge from the water, but if they're gonna be able to take you from surprise like that they should move a bit slower. That would go along pretty well with the ripped sails and I think that mechanic would give players the chance to get away (since they'd move slower.) You would take a little damage but if you weren't looking for a fight at least you could get away and wouldn't get griefed by the AI. We could make them spawn in predictable places so that you could expect the risk of one and they don't always have to be underwater. Lastly, I think it would be really cool if there was a way to capture one of the Ships of The Damned for your own and give it a proper name.

Hello, we were making a brigantine, and basically 3 days in the crafting of everythin a ghost ship started attacking our boat that wasn't even on water. I saw myself forced to demolish everything before losing all the materials. We are a group of 4 and we were 2 online, and we arrived to the shipyard when he was already shooting it, so we wheren't close to it. After i demolished the body of the ship it started attacking us, and when we died it stop and got stucked with the shipyard, I had to go with a sickle and start hitting it to get rid of it. I got some loot, but I would gladly give it back for our 2/3 days of work. So, please make them not get trigered by ships still on shipyard or make them not get too close to islands. I recommend (and i will do): Just farm everything and build everything at the same time.
