  1. That poll in the link is only for pvp from what I seen, there was no option for pve so that is a biased poll and can’t be held accountable for the player base. Reddit is also not a official Atlas resource so again not as many people will constantly check it.
  2. I’ve often thought about the same thing, I can’t understand why having a thread in the forums is so hard for them, there is a pvp section, pve section and general section that they could post new ideas coming about and for each play style and let us give our feedback on what we think. They have often said they prefer discord because it is more directly based communication between them and the players but the issue is that some of us can’t be online to have a chitchat on a topic that needs to be discussed. At least here they could post and go do some work and check back to catch up on what people have said and respond accordingly. Just makes more sense to me.
  3. Thank you all for being honest and sincere, that is all I was looking for and it shows that you are good people and the reason why I enjoy the game.
  4. Now I’m not looking for a flame war, please just a simple this is stated here and that is what it means will do. I can read and I’ve also seen where it says the developers are looking for our feedback but what I am not seeing is where everyone comes off saying that it should be expected in early access games. Everyone is so quick to judge someone for buying a early access game then complaining they are losing their progress. If by reading that above statement from the developers if you’d never dealt with early access games before would you automatically think there would be wipes ? Please I’m just looking for a knowledgeable response, I’m not looking for a DannyUK response.

This brief sampling is just the tip of the iceberg (though be sure to watch out for those in the polar regions, as they're extremely dangerous to ship hulls!!).A Brief History of ATLASLong-ago, far above the watery world of ATLAS there once existed a magic-powered “Golden Age”-- where great Empires of the Sky lived at peace alongside magical creatures, flourishing upon floating continents above the clouds, all powered by a magical source of energy known as the Heart of the Goddess, granted by the powerful beings who dwell in the stars beyond. However, a powerful warlord known as Xevos sought to unite the human civilizations over the magickind, and launched a war that broke the Heart into pieces, unleashing a wave of destruction that shattered the floating landmasses and plunged them into the waters below. Many generations later, as living memory of the “Sundering” has faded into legend and the once-plentiful magical energy has long since dissipated, descendants of the protectors of the Heart of the Goddess -- known as “Pathfinders” -- emerge from their provincial oceanic lives to explore the new continents and islands, and seek out the power they may yet contain. Across the vast new world they’ll encounter hostile creatures, technological remnants of the Golden Age past, and ultimately the undying spirit of Xevos himself and his soulless “Army of the Damned”, still intent on recovering the pieces of the Heart of the Goddess to raise the continents once again under his vision. If the latest generation of Pathfinders can outwit and outgun Xevos and his legions, and recover the Heart pieces for themselves, they will be faced with the very same choice: whether to attempt to restore the old world, or build a new better one…
  6. If your going to quote me then try to get the rest where I basically said the same thing you just did
  7. There are already games that has both features in the same server, the issue is and always has been is pvp’ers try to troll pve players into flagging for pvp which in the end results in pve players leaving the game because they get tired of being harassed. In this game pvp players would dominate the game because pve players have no interest in pvp or they would be in a pvp server. The only reason pvp players were in pve servers was to learn the game and mechanics of the ships, once that was done they switched servers, now I know there are countless people who pvp that would love to troll pve players and just constantly cause them havoc for no other reason then because they could.
  8. Danny, the only way the developers have any idea about anything is from the player base, people comment their issues, ideas, likes and dislikes in the forums, Discord and Twitter and other people either agree or disagree and then normally give their input in return. I’m no different than anyone else here and if I choose to say something that I disagree with then I have that right. I play everyday unlike you so who has more right to post in the forums, someone who plays everyday or someone who used to play or someone who doesn’t play at all ? I believe we all have a equal right to post, complain, praise or give feedback, what makes you so special that you think you can suggest that someone quit playing or quit complaining?
  9. I play everyday Danny, can you say the same ? Perhaps your the one who should ask yourself why you are even here. Don’t give me the crap about not having time to read the patch notes and Captains Log because if you got time to respond to post and read the forums then you have time. Furthermore anyone who is giving any advice to anyone should know what is actually happening in the game instead of just making it up because it sounds good. You want to skim through topics and only read half of what people actually say then make a comment about it like your doing something, you better know what your commenting about.
  10. I don’t think he reads the patch notes, I even stated that the 12 hours was for pvp but they would probably extend the timer for pve. That’s from the patch notes or Captains Log
  11. Danny, I already stated that it’s a bummer that you lose your progress but I’m still playing, I’m not sure where you misunderstood that and I also stated that I knew my options as to continue to play or wait for the full release and as of now I’m still playing. From your past comments you’ve stated that you’d already quit playing and it was due not having enough notice on the wipe, that’s an excuse, if you wanted to play you would be that’s all there is to it. I have chosen to continue playing even though I’m not happy about losing my progress I’m still in the game every day and will more than likely continue to be in the game each day up until it becomes strictly pvp and that is where I’ll take my leave. I’m not interested in Ark, I’ve tried it, couldn’t get into it and went on with another game. I enjoy Atlas and though I’m not happy with the upcoming patch, I’ll still be in the game.
  12. They may have it setup to where your not able to build until there is a landlord. I would say that won’t be a issue because most of the time the 1st person on the island will have already placed a claim flag, now I’m gonna assume once they place the flag there will be a decay timer that starts and you’ll need to have your upkeep bank built within that time period in order to keep the flag. As far as structures go, the 12 hour window is for pvp, they already stated they would probably increase it for pve. I read somewhere it may be 72 hours now I don’t know if that was a official post or something I caught in discord, Twitter or forums that someone else said they heard that because there is no pvp possible way to destroy abandoned structures. Even so a 12 hour window can’t work for pve unless mega companies own the islands and the claim belongs to the company and not the individual meaning that anyone in that company can destroy your stuff. They already said there would be a upkeep cost on player structures and you’ll have to render ships in order to keep them from decaying but how fast of a decay anything will have is still up in the air. I know a week trying to test the new system is not enough time especially if it’s a full 15 x 15 grid because as of right now there is not enough players to give it a good stress test and find out the issues. Now of course it doesn’t really make any difference because it will either work for awhile and change again or it won’t and they will have to come up with something different. It would have been nice to have small grids of 2x2 and setup different ideas for people to test then vote on which they preferred to be the basis of the game but a week with low members will still not give a unbiased opinion.
  13. I don’t need to place it in the back of my mind Danny, it doesn’t have to have much of a notice either. It seems to me that if a player is knows they will lose everything whether it will happen in a week or in a month it will deter them from being as active as they would otherwise. There is no doubt in my mind about this, if there is progress that you can always work on then you look forward to getting in the game trying to get one more thing done before you have to log out. I’ve always been one who tries to get everything done in games I enjoy playing which is something I enjoy, knowing that all the work I’ve done will keep resetting doesn’t sit well with me and that’s on me and it’s my understanding of whether I wanna continue losing it or waiting. I enjoy the game thus I’ve continued to play but I don’t dedicate myself to it like I would knowing that I would progress. I can build ships, fight SOTD, hunt whales, build bases and collect tames but that is not progressing in a game. Knowing that my progress will be lost I really don’t see the point in fully dedicating my time to it.
  14. Well as you’ve already read there will be more wipes as needed. So if your not enjoying just playing the game then you may want to wait, otherwise your just playing to waste your time. I log in every day but I’m not as enthusiastic about getting anything accomplished by no means. I keep telling myself that it’s all for nothing and that is slowly beginning to push me away. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m not big on restarting, I understand that I can wait for the full release in a couple years and that I could play some other games in the meantime but normally I’m with one game until I’m done with that game then I move on, I just haven’t reached that point yet.
  15. Hey Bolognapwny, your still dividing the player base even if they have to play on private servers, your not pulling more people into pvp by eliminating pve. There is nothing stopping people from playing pvp other then their own choice. I haven’t seen the pvp servers here full up once where you had a queue time waiting to join but I have in other games. They are not splitting pvp servers based on the numbers in the game, they are splitting pvp servers to try and place companies on more of a equal playing field
  16. Ah, so I take it you don’t like pvp games where your on equal terms then, you like games where your force is stronger the someone else’s so you can take it from them. That really explains a lot on your behavior and attitude towards pve players.
  17. I really enjoy meeting the people here in the forums whether we agree or disagree, everyone is so very interesting to me. I enjoy the conversations we have and I kinda look forward to seeing what the latest reply or response was. It may seem like I take things personally at times but honestly I really don’t and I never really troll any particular person. Bolognapwny just happens to be active here in this thread and it’s someone to debate with.
  18. Some people don’t really have time to play much do to real life but can spend a few mins on break to surf the forums. At least that’s how it works for me, normally when I get home then my activity slows down in the forums because I’m active in the game.
  19. Bolognapwny you should look at skull and bones that is scheduled to release this year since you basically just agreed with me in the fact that Atlas really doesn’t have a pvp system that is fair and balanced so you can actually have bragging rights. Atlas is a open world survival game full of exploration and very little real content that a normal pve game would consist of as far as a story line goes. In this game pve players have to create their own story and adventure, it’s a sandbox game neither truly designed for pve or pvp but the developers are trying their hardest to make it meet both requirements but you and I both know it will never really be either of those because it lacks certain requirements to be that, it lacks s equally opposing forces to be pvp and it lacks a story line to be pve. So we are all kinda caught in the sandbox trying to make it work for both our game styles. I think you would probably agree with that. You started bashing on pve players because the pvp in this game sucks and the only real fight you can find is here in the forums. It’s sad to be honest that you have no real interest in the pvp in the game but that is all you have until something better comes along.
  20. Well I know I just wasted my time asking Bolognapwny what was so special about pvp because he is just a wanna-be pvp player anyway. So how about a real pvp player give me a explanation that I could actually accept being a real reason why there is so much fuss over pvp.
  21. You don’t have nothing Bolognapwny, you don’t have it now and you never will have it. You try to talk trash but you just can’t your just not good enough. You try to get us into your level but you can’t because we are better than you. I’ve already pointed out that you already play in a pve server and your pvp is a pipe dream. You asked me what I do all day while I’m in the game and you wanted me to tell you without boring you to death, I’ve already pointed out countless things to do if I only had the time. I’ve pointed out everything about what you do and how it’s related to pve and the best and I mean the absolute best you can come up with to defend pvp is saying that pve players are dweebs ? I mean come on, grow a pair and stand up for what you believe in, for the sake of measuring the size of our egos and who may be of slightly more intelligent and have more of a game knowledge, why don’t you defend pvp by letting us all know what is so special about it ? I mean let’s be serious here, I want to know what is so special about pvp that you feel like you’ve earned the right to bash on pve players. Don’t give me this crap about how it proves your a better player, we all know what determines the outcome of any battle that takes place in this game, whoever has the most ships, faster internet or better gaming pc is more then likely going to win a battle. It has nothing to do with reflexes or your ability to think because from what you’ been posting everyone already knows you can’t do that. So let’s hear it, what is so special about pvp ? Don’t use bragging rights either because this game is broken, no one can play on a level playing field. So I’m waiting for your in-depth explanation.
  22. Do you know why there are more threads in PVE then there is in pvp ? It’s not because we whine more or perhaps there are more of us... no it’s because all you pvp’ers really need to function in a game is the ability to battle another player. That’s it, you could play any game ever created for 2 or more players and say that it is pvp because you can always challenge another player in competition. That’s all you need for pvp is one other player, the reason there are more threads that have to deal with pve is simply because we are not simple minded who get cheap thrills of proving who is better, we are after the challenge, the end game, the exploration, the new sights, we are after what lies behind the next and the next and the next. It can never end for us, unlike you, once you reach the top what else is there other then defending it ? Can anyone say “ King of the Hill “ grade school kid games, you might as well play capture the flag or seek and destroy for all your looking for in a game. Pvp players can look at the same map over and over and over, it’s not the new content that interest you, it’s next person you can beat to prove something to. This is a video game, if you want to prove something to someone then prove it to your family, prove it to your job or prove it by helping someone. Prove that your skills don’t just exist in in a virtual world where you’ll never have anything more then a title.
  23. Wasn’t there a game that was strictly pvp, Aion or something ? What ever happened to that game ? I remember hearing that it lost all of its player base and the developers stopped supporting it. Hmm pvp only huh ?
  24. Danny these guys are pvp players, all they do is troll. You can’t win a battle against them because it’s all they know how to do. They talk big, act big but don’t have the maturity level of my 9 year old. She has been taught better than their parents were able to teach them. I already said a couple of times that the game they play consist of pve and all they can come back with is along the lines of if you can’t lose what you have what is the point in playing. I’m just dumbfounded by the thinking in that statement, I keep going over and over the thought process behind it and honestly it reminds me of spoiled brats who as kids would break things if they didn’t get their way and expect what they broke to be replaced. I guess that’s where the being slave part comes in, they expect pve players to rebuild their ships so they can go tear them up again. Most of them probably have never worked more then a few days in their life because they feel like they are entitled to something because they were brought into this world so they should be taken care of.
