So ghost ship spawn from what i'm reading has fucked everyone... Like... everyone's ships have been getting destroyed (havent checked mine in about 2 hours... uh oh)... Last comment i read before posting this was that 1000+ companies are stuck using rafts now? China NO.2 now? Like... all duped ships... they gone? Did the devs do this purposely to level the playing field without doing a complete wipe?! Like... holy shit... this could actually have been done intentionally?

I very respectfully HIGHLY disagree with you. Every game I've played MMO wise i've always played solo. Always. The point's these guys/gals are making are very legit and concerning for the game. The fact that you so blatantly disagree and are so absolutely 1 sided is astounding. Playing solo is damn near impossible and i'll tell you why. The ultimate truth is it's not impossible. If you want to take about 10,000x longer than companies to get anywhere then by all means keep playing. (I'll still be playing even though the mechanics of it are broken at the moment) If you want to keep building, trying to explore, get wiped, respawn, repeat, rinse, repeat then by all means keep playing. If you want to hit open water's and get ganked by china and then watch chat spam explode with "China NO.1" by all means keep playing. If you want to be playing in your server trying to craft and gather and step on your boat with all your metal tools on you and everything important to include maybe pistols ammo, metal ore and then have the game glitch out and the raft launch you to the top of the map to fall to your death in a freeport and lose everything, then by all means keep play. There's so much to the game that is still broken, and for fucks sake yes it's EARLY ACCESS, we fucking know. It needs more patches, it needs more fixes, it needs more people to continue to bitch and complain. Why? Lol i'll tell you. If a game is broken and none of the players say anything about it how does it get fixed? If a game is going to be successful then feedback is feedback and the dev's need to consider all of it regardless of it being positive or negative. Keep player base happy, keep selling your game. The potential for expansions and dlc and all this extra content is here and do you REALLY think wildcard would release a new game without having at least 3 expansions already being worked on? If they want continue support and continue to make money off everyone then they will consider all our bitching and moaning. So. Again. Solo play. Pretty much impossible at the moment. Thanks.

i dont know any answers to fixing it after it's sunk... doubtful. salvage what you can from it. empty your storage then start destroying it. if you get everything before timer runs out youll get half of what it costs to make the thing.

fix what? it changes. it's not a "I want to go that way so wind needs to blow that way RIGHT NOW". it's a sailing game, fight the winds or give up and wait for it to change. took me an hour and a half yesterday to travel west when the winds were going almost straight east. had the winds been going west i would have been where i wanted in 10 minutes. Go real life sailing and tell the wind to "fix itself". youll get about as much help there as you will here concerning the wind. Sorry.

Oh and to add to all that, let's not do anything about all the duping thats happened that originally fucked everyone. Let's just break the skill tree mechanic making it even more 1 sided lol. Everyone's entitled to their moans and groans and gripes. It's part of what happens.

So... to those people saying that "Should hit end game skills by level 20". Um... why? We dont have the whole tree unlocked, just specific skills in order to craft lets say... a damn pistol? Which still takes forever to craft and upkeep because we're stuck in freeports and lawless due to the fact that many of us are solo or in companies with less than 10 people. So shit's a bit hard? So why the fuck cant we make a damn pistol by level 20 or a blunderbuss? Doesn't mean the whole tree is unlocked for all the perks and bonus percentages for reload/aim/etc. We as the lonelier groups with fewer people dont have the cushion of a large company to craft stuff we cant craft. So we have to skill into everything we want. So please explain to me how it's a fair mechanic? "Shouldn't be able to craft endgame stuff by level 20". What a joke. The fact that we can craft endgame stuff in ONE skill tree of the about a dozen ish is outrageous? Nah, more like fair and the fact that we can't now with the new update fucks us even further trying to survive outside of a FREEPORT. like... lets just live in a starter zone. it's cool, didn't want to explore the game. Just rinse and repeat in a starter zone! WOOHOO!

So... everything starts out at rank 0. That's cool but does that mean at rank 0 everyone has every access? is rank 1 highest? rank 10 highest? like... the lack of info on what is what is driving me crazy lol.

Farmed all day, solo, in order to build my sloop. Got it built, got it out of freeport and i'm fully aware (now) that when i wake up... it'll be decayed completely. How are you guys keeping your ships alive? What's the trick?

Any suggestion on what to do in order to change it? What would you prefer it to be like? Saying that it's just the worst you've dealt with and that it needs improvement gives no details as to what's bad about it, what needs improved or how it needs reworked. Please be way more detailed than "It's terrible, redo it". Not trying to be an ass, just asking for more details so the rest of us can either agree or disagree or post our opinions.

Simple fix. Wipe all companies and everyone who used the dupe method. Don't exploit/cheat. Do it again, perm ban. Bam, done.

1.) Join a freeport server. 2.) Punch trees till you have enough wood. Find a spot close to the spawn that's kind of hidden. 3.) Drop all. 4.) Respawn, run back to your bag you dropped with wood then collect stone and what you need to get your pickaxe. After that get your hatchet, make spears. To dive a little deeper into it. When getting hide, pay attention to the level of the animal you are trying to kill. If you are surrounded by cows and bulls DO NOT attack them. Find an elephant/animal that's solo or has 1 other near it. Make SURE you have at least 4-8 spears your first go around. Would hate to get to your 2nd elephant and die because not enough spears. Start collecting hide/fiber/wood to get your first raft. You can purchase your first raft at the NPC on the docks. this is your HOME! Gather everything needed for a bed next, don't take your raft anywhere until you have a bed on it. Everytime you get close to dying or you have a vitamin deficiency, find a spot to hide, drop all, die then go get your stuff back. (It's scary at first but once you get the hang of it for the first bit it's easy) After you have a bed on your raft build a large storage chest. Now you're set! Start gathering to get your smithy and metal tools. In the mean time of gathering get the bow and make arrows. MUCH easier to get hide with it and level the rest of the way to 8 if you aren't max level for freeport as it is. This is JUST a quick run down while i have time to post something. I will be updating this further in a few. In the mean time good luck and have fun! By doing this i am now in a freeport area with pistols. Just remember to repair your rafts!

Stick to a freeport that you don't lag out on. If you keep getting connection errors, validate your local game files on steam. 1.) Right click on game name in game library 2.) Go to properties 3.) Click local files 4.) Validate files If that doesn't work, then reinstall. My nephew had the same problem. I'm going to be typing up what i'm assuming is the first guide on these forums here very soon.

Guns and artillary use alloys which are smelted metal. My pistol used raw metal, to make a carbine i need 65 metal alloy. "Smelted metal"

no freeports are surrounded by lawless. outside of lawless you're going to be in an area that will just say "A8" not "A9 Lawless region" that's where you build. Good luck though it's about insta death out there

Anyone else experiencing this or is it on my end? A10 just dies... then takes a few minutes to come back up?

They literally do updates every couple hours. Like... it's the most updated game i've ever played so far. Needs it yes, but at least they're constantly working on it. Patience... at least most of us can login now.

Hmm... when i get back from dropping my wife and daughter off at the airport i'll write up a starter guide.

Best advice, is do your best to get into a freeport server. 1.) Die 2.) Click change home map (or whatever it says as for changing home server) 3.) unclick the show atlas map button on the bottom left so you see an actual server list not the atlas map (makes this WAY easier) 4.) In search bar, type in free 5.) Sit there, refresh, try to join one that has an opening. 6.) If join fails/is full. Try again and again. 20-30 mins to maybe an hour to change into a freeport zone and actually be able to play orrrr..... rinse and repeat what you're currently doing. I'm in a freeport zone and have pistols made now. I take my time, sail out to a lawless to level/craft stuff we need to place down and then sail back in. Rafts are HELLA easy to get in freeports. FIRST ADMIN I'VE SEEN!!!! Thank you for replying to the post! Awesome, starting to see more and more from atlas staff. that's great!
