  1. It is not my computer, it is the latency, it has 250-300 ping. I have a 1080 TI an I7, 32g of ram, the structures load in fast for me, it is the latency that is the issue. The game is extremely choppy and rubberbands a ton. You keep saying things as if you know, but you clearly haven't sailed around that much. One server, perfectly fine with 50-60ms, the next with less population has 250-300, then the next has more people and is basically unplayable. The ones that are the worst, have massive bases.
  2. I would rather not end up like Dark and Light where every PVPer quit because bases were literally unraidable and you could literally spend hours banging on a single door just to find another right behind it, after the PVPers quit the game basically died except for a few private servers.
  3. I had sap in the tundra when we lived there, I went and got it, hop on your ship, and go get it like everyone else. Trade for it, do something, we have zero salt on our server currently, and cobalt is our metal, we have to go get the salt, just to make alloy. Go get it.
  4. Please explain how, low population servers with very little built up on them, run fine, but low population servers right next to them with less people on them, and tons of stuff built, run like a slide show, the ping is through the roof on some of these 20 player servers, and they have massive bases, but a 20 player server that is basically barren runs fine.
  5. Literally never had this happen. You guys must build very weird. Never lost an animal in any base I have built. Double wall, double gate, done and done, you can make a wood box, then stone foundations around it, then a 2 high stone wall around it, with a stone gate on the outside and a wood gate on the inside, you will have zero problems unless you let the animals in yourself.
  6. Double stone wall, double gateway, done, I solved the problem for you. PVP players do not have this issue because we double wall everything, at a minimum anyone that does a single wall on PVP servers is a fool, unless it is completely unimportant.
  7. what exactly is the point of building stone in PVE anyway? Just build a small stone fence around your base to keep animals away, it isnt like you actually have anything to fear, no one is going to attack you. You can literally just live in wood or thatch, as long as you have a 2 high stone wall around your base.
  8. They swung the game balance in favor of the attacker, making it easier to destroy stone structures, it is 100% Obvious what they are doing. It is very poorly implemented, but obvious.
  9. Well, the change will stop so many from building absurdly large bases and lagging out servers, that was the primary reason for the change, people act like they just want to screw over the player base, but this is 100% the reason why.
  10. What is he going to do on a PVE server? Nothing PVE servers are lame, you cant even fight back when people are doing this type of stuff to you. You at least stand a fighting chance on PVP servers.
  11. Does nothing, since you must have T bound, and T is a single target whistle.
  12. @Jatheish Please change the whistles for ladders to a different button, It is getting old whistling to lower the ladder and being slightly off and multiple NPCs running off the ship. It should be a specific keybind that only does the ladder or a wheel option on the ship. Other keybinds need to be done also such as Q and T for swapping building, if you rebind that key for the whistles to another key so you stop hitting them by accident, you can no longer build properly. Please someone in the UI team dedicate time to this.
  13. Well considering I joined the company with me, and my small group of friends, and already had a galleon, before joining, after 3 weeks I still own it, still command it, still have no issue sailing it when and how I want, I would say it is possible. I still have the brig we built also. If I needed to replace them, I am sure I can. They are very selective of who gets demo rights because this game allows you do do some serious damage if you have them, from scuttling ships to demoing the foundations of the base(s) and ruining everything. That is a given, but once you are a trusted asset to the team they will probably give them to you. Why do you need a "personal" base? Why cant you and a few people, share a base? Large companies own multiple islands, they need stewards of those islands, so they give control to people, this isn't a secret, just get in with a small section of the company, and work with them. Once you hit about level 50 or so, you unlock enough points to have a couple of specializations, I have captaineering, enough points to ride T3 mounts and have the heal and attack buff, have armor skills unlocked so I can run around in armor, and have the lucky loader feat, as well as I dipped into a few other trees for specific skills. What are you talking about? It doesnt take that long to get to into the 40s, by that point you should have enough points to specialize in one thing and have points to do other things. If you are in a 100 man company, with a lot of active players, you can choose to do whatever you want, because there are most likely multiple people filling those roles anyway. Being solo, or in a small group, is far more restrictive on that end, because you do not have enough people to fill those roles. there are a lot of arguments from ignorance here, based on conjecture and hearsay. Maybe there are a few groups that are on total lock down and do not allow anyone any privileges but I am not in one of those groups.
  14. I am in a rather large group, and am not a slave, it is laughable that you assume that everyone in a large group is a slave. In fact, we are asked to contribute on large projects and help out on specific things, but for the most outside of that, we are left to do things on our own. Not every island is closed off, there are many lawless regions that have the same build rules as Ark servers but things decay very quickly, if you do not go to that area once every 4 real days, it becomes demolishable. I know there are may successful small groups on lawless islands. In fact, there are many advantages to staying in lawless regions, the respawn rate of materials is much higher and do not conform to the same foundation rules to block resources, you can build brigs in less than 2 hours of farming with only a couple of people helping. Also, the more harsh the environment, such as tundra and desert, the less people play on those server nodes. So if you are a small group start off on a lawless tundra island, then when you are large enough, maybe strike out and take land on a tundra island. But if you are solo, the lawless zones are your only area of play, no one is going to let you run around doing whatever you want, right next to them in territory they control without oversight. Unless you find some group willing to give you a place, and you pay taxes to them as you build on their land.
  15. Once you get in to a group large enough, most things are expendable, need armor? grab one of the 30+ full sets in the storage area, need a gun? grab one out of the armory, need a ship? take one of the several "anyone can use this" ships What do you have as a solo player that is so special? did you somehow collect enough to get a mythical rifle or armor set? 99.999% chance you didn't you are running around with common gear that is completely expendable to anyone in a decent sized group. We are starting to get to the point where green gear is expendable. Just join a group where when armor is needed, people make over a dozen sets, or if a gun is needed they make 20 or more.
  16. You literally need other people to have access to different things unless you want only dip into things and never experience late game content, being a naked or guy in only hide with a bow, seems boring to me.
  17. I have never had an issue with that, it seems like you are a very selfish person that doesn't want to work as a team to accomplish goals. I have never understood the solo mentality in MMOs. Single player games deliver a much better experience for solo players. I play MMOs to play with other people and do things as a group. Having played Ark solo for a stint to come back and try it after a few months of quitting, it was the most boring and dull experience I had, I just gave up with no motivation to keep going.
  18. It just seems handcuffing to play solo, you are missing out on so much of the game not playing with other people.
  19. Did you try to join the groups enclosing islands or are you really going to try and play solo in an MMO, then complain about how solo players are not catered to in a massively multiplayer game?
  20. I view unofficial as a toxic community that imposes arbitrary rules where if you are a high skilled official server player, you are punished with bans or base wipes, just because you play the game better than others. I am not talking about using exploits, griefing or anything else, in Ark and DnL, when I transitioned from official to unofficial with my tribe. We got banned from 4 servers in a row, just for playing the game at a high level. We were used to standard gather rates, but when given 5x, 10x or any higher rates for that matter, we would be accused of exploiting, just because we had min/maxed and built up very quickly and when we PVPed we used the meta from official, and easily attacked poorly built bases, even when the defenders were online and ready to defend. Getting banned because you are better players, sucks, having to dumb down to the "unofficial" low level of play, sucks. Dealing with a couple of autoturrets, single walls, and random low level dinos and people that just are not good at PVP, is nothing to a organized group used to dealing with far, far, far, more defenses and better defensive tactics. Showing up and only using 10% of your prepared gear for the attack, because you assume that people are going to have far more, because of the higher gather rates, is rather disappointing. They are filled with toxic mods that will ban you at the drop of a hat, just because you do better than they do, especially if they are part of one of the groups that play on the server. The only unofficial server that I enjoyed was a DnL one where the mod treated the server like a Dungeons and Dragons game and he was the dungeon master. He didn't care what we did to each other, and was not part of a group. He just wanted to build and develop adventures for us to go on using the in-game assets and monsters. He gave us rewards via better gear for defeating the challenges he put before us. That was the only good unofficial server I have ever played on.
  21. Nothing changed but we can kill wild wolves easier now. I dont see the issue. Wolves were brought in line with other tames, you are just blinded to it apparently. Your favorite animal was balanced, I get it, you are mad that your overtuned mount got brought down to a point where it is supposed to be. Now, go tame a lion or tiger for a combat mount. Bears are still good also.
  22. Are you really going to sit there and argue that T2 tames should be stronger than T3 tames? Why do we just not make Pigs just as powerful as Lions and Tigers, I mean T1 tames should be powerful too right?
  23. The wolves instead of doing nearly double the damage of other tames, are brought more in line with Tier 3 tames. Wolves are T2 tames, they should not be as powerful as the T3 ones. It is like Raptors being more powerful than T-rexes in Ark. Move on to a better tame.
  24. I am telling you to use it, other tames do 30-36 damage (sometimes less) with half the attack speed. They have double the attack speed and you want them to do the same damage per bite as an elephant or rhino?
  25. use nature's cry? They already have one of the fastest attack speeds, and do high DPS compared to other tames, what more do you want?
