Ok, so the galleon is built(sorry boomer) you know the whole group thing I can’t get online for one day and then whoop there it is! Evidently because of our tribe size we are going to get 3 small islands in 3 different biomes(yes me idea) and then after that we will be exploring. Already calculated the cost for 3 15 point islands and we have enough gold to put into all of them(once we decide) for 55 days. things are going slightly off script but once the dp grinding begins I am sure it will be epic. ill keep everyone updated. Btw, the bear with the cart and a storage box is working wonders. Loving that weight differential

That is the thing, if you have built a few galleons already it wasn’t that painful. Seems way to easy to me. 2x wouldn’t even be considered grinding anymore really

No, you don’t sail to lawless. You spawn over there. Lawless islands are islands that you can spawn on as well. Instead of a blue house you will see two red swords crossed like that. You can spawn there. if you are only level 6 then you don’t have anything that is that important to take with you. practice sailing with the raft first. You will figure out one sail fast enough, plus on lawless you won’t be stuck at the level 8 cap. Once you are confident enough you can spawn back in at the Freeport to buy your sloop. either way if you aren’t gaining experience right now I highly recommend going to lawless to at least get some experience until they fix it. If not you are moving backwards not forward.

Are you at a Freeport, if so I suggest moving to a lawless island around the Freeport. If you are not at a Freeport then yes that is a big problem.

Nah, they will do it again. A lot of stuff had been going on with the release a few days ago. There were some problems with people being able to get on or play and even play with less lag. i am sure in a week or two they will have one. Gotta get this stuff ironed out first

Mind you, this is a pve thing. In PvP it wouldn’t work because people would just keep valuables on their body when they log out so I am sure that is not the case on PvP lol

Yeah the upkeep on that thing is just wayyyy over the top. I am thinking they did that as a troll because nobody makes that big of a number by mistake. and yes, I will definitely utilize the playershops if they actually make it worth it. My name in game is pooter so even though that was a creative business name I will have to decline the use of it. i do think they should be in the freeports though. It would give more of a reason to you know, actually go to the Freeport lol

I have transferred to a few servers with about 8 tames on board and haven’t lost one yet. Thanks for the heads up though. I’ll keep an eye on that.

Very inspirational boomer. My buddies are dragging their feet on the whole DP thing. I warned them that doing too many maps would bite us in the long run. Luckily pretty soon they will he forced to do DP’s because of the level cap. smh, yeah when you are in a group sometimes your plans get altered. Won’t be able to play for a couple of days so hopefully by the time I come back they will be ready for the questing to begin.

I have only been sailing for two days. I don’t think I am prepared for a SoTD/tornado fight yet lol. that does sound pretty exciting though

It is not going that well actually. Once we started and got the taming going and got the schooner going we realized the schooner isn’t going to do the job for our journey. We are skipping the brig because it isn’t worth it to us and going for a gally. i just can’t do the schooner. It’s cool and all but I am still a grinder and I need the 4 cargo boxes. It just wasn’t working with the 1 we had(had a dingy. Man, that dingy is fucking fun). By the way even without the dingy 2 wouldn’t have been enough. to be honest I think the speed is fine I might just put weight sails on the gally and load the fuc&@! up! I literally can’t help it but to grind. If I get to a new island and see there are new resources I need at least a couple thousand(at least). It’s a gift and a curse. I am trying to break myself of that but it’s a day by day basis with that. i don’t mind going slow but I do mind missing something I will need later. #grinderproblems

Gotta do it. Let’s get it going. Definitely start working on refining the player shops. Still haven’t even been to a Freeport yet but even if they are stationed there that would be cool too. every body is going to travel to trade no mater what but sometimes a quick buy is always good too. either way, it will be beneficial. I totally get the whole phases thing but since the first phase is bug fixes and optimizations, I would like to call the upkeep of the player shops a big. Yeah let’s just call it a bug. Let’s get this thing rolled out and polished. i believe in you guys. Let’s do this

Yeah, we are sailing but at like 7800 out of 9800(upgrades weight a little) and still have a cargo box. Just like jaws “I think we are going to need a bigger boat” hey new guy, listen to @Whitehawk he is giving good advice. Don’t listen to some of the salty guys on here. He will do good as a mentor. Oh and boomer. Definitely listen to that guy. There are others as well but I will just let you know who the good and bad ones are on here

Ever since people have been saying they get stuck on ladders( I have seen a few) I always kept that in mind. on our schooner we just put the emergency rope ladder in the back of our schooner and I attach every time(didn’t bother with side ladders). for the Xbox guys. If you can’t get close enough to shore and are having problems getting your tames on the boat just ride them to the back on the boat where the emergency ladder is and hop off right by the ladder, hold Y on them and select put on ship. Not sure the total distance that you can do it but if you are right by the ladder you will be able to transfer them to the ship.

Yeah that totally happened to me this morning lol. luckily because of my time with ark I always get butt naked before I log off. i think even if they fix the bug I will always do that. thank you though. That didn’t happen on the first day but it did this morning. I said “thank god I took all my off”

Very smart move going to pve first off. I love pvp but if I want pvp I’ll go to another game where there is actual PvP. welcome aboard. You seem American by the way I read your post so I would recommend NA pve. Maybe we will meet up at some point. the steam charts fooled me big time. Atlas is actually way better than ark in a lot of ways. Mainly the grinding. The sailing you will find awesome as well(if you liked sea of thieves). Already met a lot of cool people in the servers I have been as well. Even though I haven’t met the dicks yet, I am sure we all know they are present but it just is what it is. We move on from that. as far as early hints go(I am new as well), don’t bother with the brig, after looking at all the stats there is no need for it in my opinion. I need the 59 base occupancy the gally offers. Our schooner is pretty cramped. Take people’s advice on getting the schooner right off the bat though, it will get you places in a decent time. if you are a grinder then go to the galleon quick. If not the schooner will do you right. tigers are easier to tame in my opinion than bears(I am a cat lover). A level 60 tiger(you can only tame 30 or lower), will easily take down the army of the damned when doing maps. Once you have high gather rate from skills you can get plenty of resources no problem. get a cow definitely. I would say a chicken as well but I have been finding plenty of vegetables so it isn’t too necessary. Vitamin D will be the pain of you don’t have a cow but only because you need fish otherwise(a lot of times mantas will be dead on the waters surface because they are stupid, free fish meat). since you actually have played ark you will find the grind is atlas to be very satisfying. If you have played Conan as well you will realize it isn’t as easy as Conan but nowhere as bad as ark lol. long post but oh well have fun man and good luck

Man, those storms are crazy, you see 3 cyclones, but then you don’t realize there are a lot more after that, you just keep seeing more and more while you are trying to get to land. yeah decided on the galleon. Just not enough room for tames on a schooner and definitely not enough weight. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can’t start doing the whole trading thing. Once we get the galleon that will be our long time nomadic home. Wont be truly settling on land for at least a month or so. Even though I love building, I am getting a big kick out of this whole sailing thing. Better than sea of thieves in my opinion. The sharks have managed to piss me off a couple of times but that is only because the swimming makes it hard to access the inventory before I get my ass chewed up. i do have one suggestion I would like to add @Jatheish I totally get the whole only being able to equip one weapon at a time, but I don’t think that the shovel should apply to that. It isn’t a difficulty thing. It is more a ok I killed the AoTD and now I have to go back and equip the shovel kind of thing. More QoL then anything. other than that, no problems whatsoever and the game is awesome very surprised. Good job guys

Yeah. Having fun with the sailing right now. One buddy is driving and me and another buddy are on the two sails. Just went through a storm. There was like 30 damn tornadoes we had to go through lol
