  1. I've encountered this as well and am unsure if it is WAI or needs fixing. Some clarification in the meantime would be nice.
  2. While large companies might always find ways to work around it, there’s no reason those ways can’t be ferreted out and measures put in place to make doing so taxing.
  3. Havent seen this but not done any deep underwater so i’ll take your word for it. Does sound like something that would need to be ironed out. Now I’m also wondering about the stays where it is bit.
  4. The two are not mutually exclusive. One can calmly and rationally face the odds of overcoming cancer and at the same time hope to do so. And probably yes on gems.
  5. “Hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn’t permanent.” - Jean Kerr ”I am no longer optimistic, but I remain hopeful.” Dr Martin Kuther King Jr. ”Remember Red, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” - Andy Dufrane in The Shawshank Redemption. I like the word hope. It is more than just the last resort of the desperate, but even if it were pause and consider that nearly everyone will face desperation about something at some point in their life. A job, a relationship, a medical condition, money, a loved one, an addiction, you name it. When the hour of desperation arrives for you, would you rather be accompanied only by despair, or by hope?
  6. Pretty curious about the movement myself. It doesn’t have to be super fast to be fun, but if it is super slow and clunky and there’s little to do with it other than salvage wrecks, a lot of potential would be wasted.
  7. IIrc, the devs have stated that underwater creatures would not agro on players in subs. Given that salvage would seem to be an obvious main function, one would hope.
  8. So to this point a relative handful of things require crystal to craft and none of those meaningfully require different types of crystal because they don’t have upgraded versions. Yet crystal is a differentiated mat with 6 versions to the category. I have a hunch that the sub will be the first thing to require different kinds of crystal for non common bp’s The question is, since we know it won’t be a combat vehicle, what attributes do you think upgraded versions would improve? Speed? Diving time? Maybe even strength of lighting? Carry capacity? I think the sub has potential to be a fun new addition, and this seems like a fun thing to speculate on while we wait. What do you guys think?
  9. Variety nearly always is a plus. I do think the current rate of aging is a bit excessive as well. I also think the aging debuff should not have been implemented until the breeding as an option was implemented. Part of what made FOY runs unfun for so many was the massive lag caused by hordes rushing to do it. Many of these people were likely motivated to remove the debuff as much as try out the new thing. Providing options for how to do so would have mitigated this. Another thing that could have mitigated this problem was clearer communication as to how the system works and specifics of the debuff. Just this morning I posted to clarify to a misinformed player who thought if he reached 100 he would die and lose his character. I have been 100 for weeks and find it to be no meaningful impediment. Not sure what percentage of players realize accurately just how optional doing FOY is even without breeding as an option.
  10. *reads the Op* *immediately files copywrite infringement lawsuit*
  11. Then clearly the appropriate action for you would be to stop wasting your time debating on these forums and go develop your own far superior game. There is clearly a great deal of money to be made, and even in the unlikely event you don’t care about money, you would get to enjoy the satisfaction of a game designed to your own desires.
  12. It is a fallacy to say that computer programming stems from emotion and although no one should have to break down for you something so fundamentally in error, I will further refute your argument by referring you to the growing debate over AI singularity. At some point the machines will be able to write their own code, upgrade themselves by constructing what amounts to highly complex logical arguments and they will do so without ever feeling an emotion. The bottom line is you have a core premise that logic stems from emotion. I disagree fundamentally with this premise and have presented my case why. I’m not going to go around and around in circles with you as you attempt to rationalize a premise I have never seen anyone else ascribe to and consider fundamentally unsound.
  13. This is why I’m uninterested in going around in circles with you. Do not mistake my lack of desire to have to repeat things I should not with not having an argument. You assert that without emotion you’d never be able to have logical thoughts, but as I have already pointed out, computers, which have no emotions, are entirely capable of formulating logical arguments, and AI is rapidly progressing to the point where it does so better than human beings. This disproves the notion that emotion is necessary in any way for logic.
  14. Just because human beings both experience emotions and formulate logical arguments does not mean one flows from the other or is caused by it in any way.
  15. If this what you need to tell yourself to save face, I am not going to spend time going in circles with you because you are entrenched in a premise that I have never encountered another person subscribing to. We simply disagree on this.
  16. If A=B and B=C then A=C is logical and true regardless of how you feel about it. To state that logic is based upon emotion is to misunderstand what at least one of those two things are. Computers have no emotions but can make logical computations and do so constantly. Logic is not dependent upon emotion, it is in fact indifferent to it.
  17. I will simply let the absurdity of this statement speak for itself.
  18. But you are not the sole arbiter of what is or is not faulty logic. Present your rational arguments and let people weigh them for themselves. For someone who likes to invoke the word logic you use a lot of profanity, insults and belittling language, things that have nothing to do with logic and everything to do with negative, judgement clouding emotion.
  19. “My opinion is superior to your opinion because I said so. I get to decide who’s opinion is good and who’s opinion is worthless. If I don’t like your opinion I will fell entitled to hurl insults, profanity and belittle you.” This is what you sound like.
  20. Laugh all you want. In 2004 I paid $50 for City of Heroes, my first online game. In 06 I bought their city of villains expansion for the same price. For six years I paid the $15 dollar a month sub. That’s somewhere around 1200 bucks all in for what amounted to literally thousands of hours of entertainment. A decade later it’s still some of the best money I ever spent and would spend it again in a heartbeat. People who get hundreds of hours out of a game they paid 50 bucks or less for and then bitch about it are not remotely fairly comparing it to other forms of entertainment. Go buy enough movie tickets to watch 1200 hours of movies at 2 hours a pop or hell even compare what your Netflix or Hulu sub costs per month to a game and then tell me you’re being ripped off. Its whiny entitled bs to do so.
  21. I am right there with you. I’m not broke. I would happily pay a subscription fee or buy cash shop cosmetics (“Arrrr that’s a lovely dress ye be sporting there matey. Really brings out the color of yer eye patch.”) to suppport a game I enjoy. I realize not everyone is in the same boat, but if I get hundreds of hours of entertainment from a game and can afford more than the $25 or $30 price tag, spending more to support the people who made the game and help keep it going so others can also enjoy it is a no brainer for me.
