  1. Anybody from grapeshot play atlas?
  2. Not to cherry pick quotes here, but Winter Thorne is saying that you cant get money without a game, you gotta build one what you got and build a game. You don't get people buying your game and staying to play your game so that they are a decent base, if there is no game. You do not have a game. Once PS5 release comes, then xbob 4, then we can start making the game to make the base. Then we will see how smart you all are and you can see i'm totally loyal, I'm remaining optimistic that someone will reply to my shitpost here so we can continue losing the 2 brain cells we have left.
  3. That is not atlas. That is a singleplayer, bob game.
  4. Yeah, less resource types, no claims, no upkeep, no wipes (lol??), no more destroying MY stuff because it's in MY indestructible vault, pretty sure this is a good change THUMBS UP!! :)
  5. "She" also said that you're an end user, not a gamer. Noob. Bob? edit: put quotation marks around the "she"....... wow man
  6. Xbone and ps4 currently, then next-gen (lol poor current gen) consoles next quarter. There is a forbs articles about it, crossplayer between all the consoles is the watershed moment in gaming. This is a momentous task, and many important things need to be taken into Account, so that we can all get what we wanted, looking at the big picture of saving the game. I will always support, and have always supported*, however like you guys I'm still worried about how successful the launch will b, but I will remain hopeful that crossplay will be that moment we all wanted. All content / balance / communication will be coming shortly after this however that's all we can confirm (for now, more info coming soon, it's exciting )
  7. 5 years ago or so, there was a thread on ark forums, where someone said "social experiment". Do we need to sacrifice things or what??
  8. I'm looking forward to playing atlas also. Ever since the last wipe was announced, along with a new plan to make a new plan. Will be exciting to see that plan happen, so I can play atlas. PTR called "open alpha" for crossplay for a EA game is a great idea.
  9. Blah blah blah i'm demanding a wipe, i'm disadvantaged, suffering, i don't know what a bob is, everyone needs to be lvl 1 just like me, sales, lol.
  10. Sigh. Why bother typing that? Really.... Saving the game with console is quite funny though, love how you keep repeating that one.
  11. So, after all the typing here, nothing has changed? Jat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not surprising, really. edit: Thanks for letting us know your personal preference. But, what we really want to know, if we can't know how anything happens, is how the 'when to turn on event gets decided', how much rates are changed, or why there is no schedule/ notification ahead of when the 2x is turned on. Saying you're busy, that you've been reading stuff, and talking about stuff between yourselves but wont share, doesn't work. We know already that is part of the whole "no guarantees" shtick. What is actually physically involved in the whole turning on 2x event process? Need to do some kind of animal sacrifice? There is no button? Just simply log in and do server side patch?
  12. I tried to make a point about this in a previous post. My friend would get very upset, when the event just wasn't guaranteed to be on, when he was scheduled to be off for weekends once every 6 weeks. Swearing for 5 minutes. Hah. Well, the thread should be about the fairness, and functionality of 2x. How it's applied, and where it is when its not being applied. Maybe events during evenings, doesn't matter what days, is a good solution. Make it random and not guaranteed still if needed, not sure why it could be needed however. My friend with the shift work said to me that weekends were perhaps the best for 2x, as you can possibly arrange your life so that you can sit around for extended amounts of time / all day and night playing games. Remember, this guy didn't get events on the weekend, he swore when it wasn't on, and he's saying this. Whenever we would plan to do something that required a few hours consecutive, he would say "weekend". He had difficulty sailing in atlas, and breeding, except on the weekend. This guy had a toddler, he said it was more likely that there was stuff that needed to be done during the week, that prevented him being able to relax / game for hours on end during the weekdays that he had off. He wouldn't farm the whole event either, but sometimes he would. I didn't really understand him completely at all. I would get upset (selfishly) when he couldn't play during the week quite as much as when he had weekends off, I just couldn't understand. But, as we then played for further months on end, and I basically got a better view of it in action, I was slightly less confused. Maybe weekday evenings, and weekend evenings with a schedule that includes whole day events, some during the week, some at the weekend.0 This thread is so long now, somebody may have already mentioned this. Hehe. What about those people who work nights with rotating shifts?
  13. Not to nitpick, but, is this being on topic? Boomer makes a point about the intent when discussing gameplay changes, as you asked why do people say "that is horrible", because that is in relation to a comment of yours about 2x. The response appears to be "?". I mean, you talk about your personal definition for people who play the game, that you don't play but say you want to (they are lower end people who work weekends) and the ark forums. This was in response to "separate distinct groups" thing and the "ark forums" thing. You seem to skip over the answer to your question, which was relevant to the topic, something you unfortunately seem to have a habit of doing. If a house is on fire, and while on the way there to put out the fire, another house catches fire, do you say that there's no reason to make sure nobody gets hurt, because someone has already suffered just a little (not that serious fires) bit, or do you decide the best option with the goal of making sure nobody gets hurt? We're trying to talk about the water pressure on the hoses, whether they are going to be 2x or not and if we can know why. Not sure what you think you're doing there. I guess the 'separate distinct groups' discussion is trying to say there is no point in talking about whether or not you can speak for others. Woah. I can just imagine the fury at which this was typed. Hehe.
  14. Yeah, what? Is that a response to what I'm saying there, or are you asking about what I'm not talking about. I did not say there is anything wrong with weekday events. Really. There's maybe nothing wrong with weekday events, the events in atlas have actually been quite good tbh. There's been times where they go for a week on end, stop for a half a day, then they turn it back on for the weekend which just started now. It's just that there is no way of knowing whether you will be sad or not sometimes, and that's no fun/can't see the point to that. Seems like the devs just do things randomly, the voice of god coming down saying "its 2x!!" but then god only knows why there is no discernible pattern, and when the next event will occur. Its funny actually, many times when I'm playing the game, somebody will say "why is this like this?" and the answer is that there is no answer. Why is there a reload mini-game for the guns? Because the devs thought "ohhh mmos have mini-games". Why is there a cd timer on weapon slots? Same "reason". So they put it in. Why is there no 2x? Because the devs thought "ohhh its not guaranteed". So they did that. I wish I could think of so many other examples.
  15. People want to have lives, go out on the weekend and have dinners, go to a museum or a zoo (*cough get laid cough*) because most of the socialising is still done on the weekends. 2x event (on weekend) encourages people to have no life, which is basic requirement by the game to play at the games full potential. You spend all that time playing during the week building up your gear to get to the weekend, and then the event happens. Most pvp action happens on the weekend, due to the above 2 points. You wanna have a life, go out and get laid etc, or do you wanna defend all those attacks / use that opportunity to attack Everybody becomes addicted hopefully I think this is what happened in ark. Again, I don't have a preference either way. I had an ally in ark (oh, and atlas, haha), who worked weekends on a rotating schedule, and they would always be so sad when they missed an event completely. They were able to use some of the event, when they finished work. The reason why they would miss the event completely is because the event just didn't happen. As he was my ally however, I just gave him mats etc that we got during the event, so I guess that prevented him from posting on the forums trying to discuss the events. He would've been asking about a schedule I'm sure, and would've agreed with some of the previous posts in this thread.
  16. Why are you apologising to boomer? Hehe, thanks for the laugh. Oh, thanks for the recap. Like xbobs got screwed, pcbobs didn't? No reason to make it so that nobody gets screwed? Um, you think people want to screw each other, and the reason they give is that they've already gotten screwed? Because they want others to suffer? Weekday people already got screwed, weekend people didn't, so no reason to not screw everybody (hopefully the weekend people) Yes ok, don't make it so that nobody gets screwed.
  17. Lol. *rolls eyes* I guess you do work on the weekends. I work on the weekends btw.
  18. No I was asking if there was any need to quote?
  19. Nah man, just agree with the joke character!!! derpppppppp Oh, ok, so that's the real motivation there. You're bad.
  20. Yeah I thought it might be something like that. Can't really see that anybody is suggesting that 2x becomes permanent, however. Except you maybe. I will write an essay for you soon. I'm not bothered at all, or attacking, just discussing.
  21. Yeah for sure, if I pick up another 15 quality map I will scream!!
  22. Lol. Sigh. Smurf accounts? What are you actually agreeing with? Can you quote whatever nonsense it is that you think you are agreeing with? You are having comprehension and normal cognitive thought issues, I am guessing, as you're just blabbering about wanting to make things satisfying but not too easy. You want 2x perma? And then a event on the weekend? What about realists plans to hurt people on the weekend? Did you even read any of realist's posts or did you just pick his name outta thin air? Oh ok, you didn't notice that realist doesnt actually play the game. So he doesn't understand, just spams. Do you play the game gumbyc? Not a dig, but yeah, wtf dude
  23. Humans don't poop There was a poop command in ark. Which was useful, however, I got stuck in a rock with my best bred pteranadon on one occasion, and being stuck in the rock caused my character to go into stasis. You can't poop in stasis. This meant that I had to punch the air for about 4 hours before I died. It's much better in atlas, you just need to punch for a minute or two, even when stuck in a rock. Side note: why don't humans poop? Is it just because we can punch ourselves to death now? Lol. Why don't babies poop also. You would think babies would poop the most, they are poop machines aren't they?
