Now that Freeholds are not full, can we restore lawless to normal world grids?

Recommended Posts

Lets face it, the Lawless grids were only created as overflow when the freeholds were packed.

Now that freeholds have room, can we restore lawless to normal world grids?

Not being able to claim or build beds on them is kinda removing a TON of land from the game...

Plus of course every newbie that chooses lawless by mistake over freehold and doesnt understand what they are getting into.

I agree with this. Not sure how it would be handled though. Its kinda nice not to get nuked from an establish guild while you are trying to raft away from a free port.

Lets not. Because within minutes they'll be fully claimed then most people will literally never be able to build a ship. At least with how it works now, people can go to those islands and build a ship. If you revert them back, you're locking 90% of players out of the game.

people cant build ships now cause they cant build a house to respawn in at their shipyard and the first thing a raider does is wipe the bed on their raft...

Agreed. The lawless areas are the only option a lot of people have to build a ship.... making them claimable would be a horrible idea. They're find just like they are.

That's PVP servers, which are never going to be playable for most people. You may as well not bother on PVP without being part of a huge company. At least on PVE people can still go to one of the starter lawless areas and do something.

They are not because it was not the original design, a lot more of the world was meant to be claimable.

And you know who will claim the lawless areas? The 2-3 mega companies per server. You're not going to own it, nor will any of your friends. If you make those areas claimable, you may as well just ban anyone who is not part of a mega company because they wont be able to do anything anymore.

Even the largest companies in the game only have one island each right now...

Right now the big companies are going to the lawless areas and just harvesting em to the bone.

But that aside, there are shipyards ALL OVER that just dont go away.

We need the world back

You think making that area claimable will fix that? It wont. The only difference will be all those shipyards will vanish because no one can build them anymore. You still wont own the island, it will still be harvested to death, the only difference is an alpha company will own it.
