  1. Yeah.... I'm going to vote you were exploited... happened to two sloops of mine, luckily people saw them do it so I have screen shots of names of the people.
  2. Ahh, I know that feeling I just waited for the decay times where I was.. staked out an area for a long time for it. But where I have claimed land (not lawless) is being taken over this way.
  3. The problem with that is I know someone who has an entire island for themselves, literally a whole lawless island and her excuse for all the pillars and foundations are "oh I might want to use it in the future, not sure yet". There comes a point when it's too much lol Oh I got you pappy, my bad.
  4. Oh, I never said it was the devs. Just everyone in general (just do a search on the forums) is spouting out "this is a mmo you have to join a big company" while myself and others are sitting here debating back that just because it's an MMO doesnt mean people like us (my small crew of three) should be forced to be apart of a huge company.
  5. I just mean it terms of Ships of the Damned. I've traveled pretty far on my raft but I had a panic attack every time the waters got bad or I saw a SotD. 4 days is very short. All the sudden work gets busy, you have an emergency you have to respond to, something happens and you cant log in "its only been four days" boom you log in to see your boats sunk by griefers and your shipyard vanished. Also, apologies but i dont understand the screen shot.
  6. Have you tried making sure its fully updated (they keep launching small updates) and re-varify files. My company member got booted last night and file verification fixed it for him.
  7. Its flawed yet you semi agreed with me in your musings. You can not place beds in lawless land based homes, and then they edited it to "lawless can not be a home location" I'm not sure how much more they need to change to prove it's not meant to be an area. To hit your other points: "then why can you build at all on lawless islands?" Because its meant to be a temporary safelette to get your stuff built, find a company (since they keep pushing they want people to be in big companies), and move on. That's why you have the claim message on the builds and why the timer is short. You cant carry all the mats you need to build your boats be it a small first one or a huge one. So they give temporary status for house building for smithy, loom, tannery, etc placement. "you can get starter ships in freeport to sail you anywhere" Rafts and they wont get you far. The Sloops are new and have crap stats to further push building your own, a lot of people moved to lawless before that change was made (2 days ago).
  8. It's a straight up fact they wont. They've already said they wont. Complaining about it is pointless. Launching another server isnt easy. Even if its strictly asia you'll still have VPN users who merge on NA to attack unsuspecting players.
  9. Its early acess alpha type phase dude. Also nothing will be done about it regardless. In every video game currently "the chinese" are making everyone mad and none of the companies have done a thing. They arent going to punish a whole country by restricting gameplay just because a few of them exploit. That's what the anti cheat is for.
  10. To be fair lawless isnt meant to have stuff built the way it's being abused now. The ATLAS crew cant very well shut off building because the point is to get your boats ready, not settle down. So if the players are taking the mechanic into their owns hands be it abuse or not at least it's working like it's supposed to. One thing I will say is I wish the foundations wouldnt be allowed to be in the water or the beach line, because that hinders shipyard placements.
  11. Sadly that is not the case with me. He's built nearly on top of my flag so I cant build due to enemy foundations, but theres no decay timer or anything on his stuff.
  12. OOoo I'd like to know this as well, I have someone who's built inside my land, who I don't think has logged in for a couple weeks. It's hard enough living in Tundra having to deal with (in my own property) "Enemy foundation too close". So I'm curious if I change the settings now, if he'll be able to keep adding on, or will a decay timer finally kick in?
  13. Honestly with the game in such early access and the constant updates I have their Twitter open 24/7. If they say the game is going down in 15 minutes I dont care where I am I stop. Because they always roll back a few minutes and I don't wanna get screwed. Not saying you did this to yourself for not being cautious, but the only thing that's going to happen is they will tell you to send a support ticket, then 3 weeks later after you've given up you'll get a reply. If you're lucky on the next update it'll bump the code just enough that it'll bounce your ship out.
  14. But all that does is make it take more time can still be abused. I wont explain due to not giving anyone more ideas, but all it does is makes 1 trip and turn it into 5. You still have the bag you're filling up.
  15. Depending on where you are server wise and map wise, I have tons of space near me at my lawless home. Could always set up there.
  16. Ahh I missed that I guess, maybe it's just that they have the loudest voices lol. Also, it didnt come off harsh I was just a bit confused and wanted to make sure the explanation was understood. I do feel you though about the boat situation. I feel a fix for use only on rafts and not boats would be an easy fix. But even then it's still pve. I woke up one morning to my raft with 200HP left some guy standing over me and with Smith's at the time not able to be locked I had like 4 seconds to register what was happening and I lost everything because that was my only home.
  17. 150% agree, but then this is where I personally got this game with minimal expectations... WC has always been bad about their community managers and such giving proper info. It's always the back end coders, server editors, and developers who have to speak out either first or if ever they get the chance. With so much on their plates already they shouldnt have to side track the 15 minutes it takes to post to every outlet and update everyone.
  18. I highly doubt there's only one GM, that seems ridiculous even for them. Probably just the big guy on the totem with underlings. But who knows, they've always had issues with that. But I can promise you they at least don't do like they need to testing wise. Otherwise things would be added to their to-do list in a much more timely manner instead of users having to bombard social media to get a response.
  19. I agree I never said it wasnt an issue nor underplayed it I'm speaking from how the devs might see it. They dont care , but if it carries over to PVP then it becomes and complain fest from PVPers they cant plunder. I apologised if my post didnt explain well enough what I meant, figured it was easily understandable. There are many fixes (dont let dead bodies have items transferred into them, dont let people walk over weighted, etc dont wanna go into details for those people looking for griefing.) But the current issue known is every change made in one setting carries over into the other setting. Its been there since day one. Something changed in PVE alters PVP and vice versa. And since more people are on that PVP kick they dont really care how negatively it effects PVE when changes are made.
  20. The issue is keeping things without hindering the gameplay for either sides. Look at the weapons debuff that took place, pve is having a hard time with the reduction against Wild animals and such. It was meant to help in PVP but backfired in PVE. It's not that big of a deal to them because most people dont parade around how it's done so it remains semi-controlled. Theres also about 4 ways I currently know of and have seen be done that would have to be fixed. And an easy fix for those things makes no feasible sense for game play.
  21. That in itself is a double edged sword. You will have people who tax 90% on resources which just makes building even harder. Then you have the people who will begin to complain even more about the "impossible to build" because collecting turned from 1 hour to 5. Granted this is early access and kinks do need working out.
  22. Personally, I dont necessarily play solo, but it feels majority solo. My plan was to build a big trading outpost (obviously I'm not the only one with that plan) so I went to PVE assuming it'd be a bit easier to gather my bearings. Boy. Was. I. Wrong. I woke up day 1 after being online the day before for 35 hours, to my raft being sunk, literally logged in when the raft had 200HP left to a guy standing over me and two dead bodies on it. Since then I've made tons of allies who have been extremely helpful, but I still dont have a base of operations. We found an area of land that is being griefed daily because this one guy who owns the entire island is mad we got to a spot before him, he closed us in and built next to our flag so we cant even make a tiny house. So yeah, wanting more land doesnt seem like a bad request. I play on official because as someone said "Its an MMO", but I shouldnt have to join a bigger company just because it'll benefit me. MMO just means a lot of people play at one time and interact with one another, be it solo or otherwise. I want to play the way I choose, and from experience joining a bigger group means I have to follow what they want. Playing on a private server negates the entire meaning of MMO. I dont think it's horrible to ask for things like flag reduction, or code in a better system for coverage. It's not that land is necessarily hard to come by (depending on where you wanna live, Tundra and polar are mostly empty) but you run into a case where in between two claims are available but you cant place a flag because on either side of you the range of your flag touches their boarders and its impossible to nab.
  23. #1. I dont think I ever mentioned where I was attempting to claim. So how do you know it's not in a harsher climate? #2. I doubt I'd ever be able to find you in any case to try and take your flags. Unless you just mean in a snippy example of general terms. Not that you're actually anywhere near me. Then lol never mind and I'm still half asleep. #3. I've traveled quite a ways around the map, and even the section I am on has "space" but as mentioned other territories are so awkwardly placed no flags can fit between it. I just dont see why people need to own entire areas. That makes solo play or small company play nearly impossible. In the long run where would new people be able to live? Nowhere. Yes eventually more servers will open up, but hardly anyone would move if it means losing all the hard work. The game is difficult already, having to essentially start over some people will welcome the fresh start, most wont. Plus it's not like they will unclaim before they leave. With my mentioned timer thing, decay doesn't help lol. Even the guy who lives near me theres no decay timer, inactive timer, or demo timer on his house. It hasnt been added on to in like a week I dont even know if he plays anymore. What am I to do in that situation oh almighty, all knowing master?
  24. @Jatheish Are there plans for either land wipe, easier contesting, or flag restrictions on PVE? I ask simply for the fact that at the moment, you're going to want new players rolling in, and with the unlimited amount of flags able to be placed in areas, no matter how big the map is, space is either non-existent, unable to be taken, or previously placed claims are so awkwardly spread out that flags can't be placed between them. Example: I managed to find the tiniest placelette of land, however, not only has someone built within my territory nulling my ability to build our house, He's also claimed everything around us (one person). We can neither expand, or move. If we try to contest or take his land the count down timer for claiming specifies in thousand second intervals, and even after the timer has diminished, it falls into the negatives and will not allow placement. Further example on above point - Flag claim timer "Placing a flag here will contest [insert tribe name here] in 2,945(seconds)". I wait for timer to count down and return after and attempt again "Placing a flag here will contest [insert tribe name here] in -1,246(seconds)". Unless we are failing to understand how this works, and all guides have failed us, the spamming of these flags will leave no land for anyone to build. (Hence the current issue of people living on Lawless due to no lands available.)
