  1. I have no idea who Lebron is.. nor care. Nor do I watch people bouncing a ball around.. unless I want to fall asleep. We all.. decide the rules. The trick is to try to limit the rules we make. I decide if I think you're cheating.. you don't need to prove you're not.. but if you feel you are not, you can argue your reasoning. In this case your argument is: The devs haven't said it isn't. Therefore, it is ok to use gamma. That does not equate to the devs saying it is or isn't okay. It doesn't matter if the rules say it is or isn't. It's called common sense. Something either is or isn't right or wrong. You don't need other people to tell you what is or isn't right or wrong. You know it yourself. Using gamma to bypass ingame environment to make life easier for yourself. Is Cheating. There is NO argument.
  2. And you didn't even manage to say what you meant to actually say. Congrats. By saying "and a smith one box be allowed to sit there for weeks at a time" is exactly saying.. weeks at a time. Can't you even read what you're saying yourself? Go over it in your own head, before applying it to the text box. Who decides how long tempory is? Why 4 hours? Why not 12? 12 is plenty of time for tempory foundations.. 4 is too little. People log out for 8-10 hours at a time sometimes longer.. so 12 hours gives them some leeway.. They could be placing stone foundations and irl gets in the way, they log out.. 4 hours later.. all that work is wasted.. why? So you can maybe put something there instead? Foundation spam is being placed over massive areas.. and lasts for as you said, weeks on end.. continually refreshed.. by the people who live there. So why not create a way that doesn't require foundation spam. Make the entire problem itself, into no problem at all.
  3. Easiest way for this is to put rare resources in difficult to access locations, across several islands, so all the resources cannot be blocked.. there are some really nice parts of the game map, occupied by rare resources.. why should one players game suffer because he isn't allowed to build there, so another can access those resources? The argument defeats itself, so make it, that there's plenty of resources, just make them hard to get. There should be no rules or limitations outside of common rules. free to play/build maps, should actually be free to play/build in.. if someone has built over the metal spawn... you find another one.. you have no rights to demand they leave.. yes, it would be ideal if they didn't build there, but if they have.. then look elsewhere.. the real problem, is right now, there are no elsewheres.
  4. Who said weeks? He said 4 hours.. I said no chance.. I didn't say weeks.. you added that to my statement, this is your problem, you make assumptions about what someone says and twist it into meaning something else, then you reply to that twisted view.. But hey, thanks for letting me know that about conan exiles.. another reason why I won't be buying it added.
  5. You are joking right? You expect people to sleep or log off for 4 hours or less at a time? Some people work for a living.. does that mean they can't play? Any idea that incorporates changes, needs to happen over an 8/10/12 hour period as it needs to be available for all the playerbase, not just those living in lofts, with their pc's and can afford to sleep in 4 hour shifts.. Otherwise I like the idea. Personally I'd like to keep the flag idea.. but only 1 flag per company.. First player gets the biggest chunk, next player, if their flag doesn't interact with first players get's a decent chunk.. if it does, then their area, is the normal amount, except the area where it interacts, where the second player looses out, and their area, just borders the firsts. That way, it's impossible to steal land. Flags cannot be removed. They expire automatically, along with structure and tame demo after 15-20days. That way, people going on 2 week holidays etc can leave their stuff safely.. all pvp occurs on the sea or in outlying areas. You can't capture or damage peoples bases. Then people have a base of operation to play from. A safe haven etc. This idea people have about pvp having to be about being as antisocial and crass as possible is really what turns most people off pvp. I think it's time, pvp was forced to obey the common rules we all have. And in turn, I feel it would improve the overall attitude people have towards it.
  6. We are edging closer and closer to that ignore function, if you continue to insult me, it will be so. As I am repeatedly said.. and will thrice now restate.. that the omission of such a statement, is not a statement in itself. Your entire argument is moot. It doesn't matter what the devs think cheating is.. it matters what the players think, as they're the ones being cheated. Do you comprehend what I am saying?
  7. When Extinction came out, there was 1 rag server with a population, the rest were empty or almost so, as were aberation.. yet the island still had decent pops as did the center.. personally i don't like the center, probably mainly because the officials were all spammed to death more than any specifics on the map design. As for private server breakdown, I never really paid much attention to those as the vast majority were all cheat servers anyway.. 5x harvesting, taming speed etc etc. So I don't know if people played ragnarok on those or not nor paid any attention anyway.
  8. That doesn't matter, in the scale of what? A year.. 5 yrs? 10? They played for a few days.. Because as far as I am concerned, the map is garbage. I won't list the rest of my reasoning or we'd be here for the next decade discussing specific points. You're probably the first person I've met, that actually liked it. There you go.
  9. Dunno if this was intentional, but now I have to wait for the chests original placer to log in to unlock the chests so I can continue what I was doing.
  10. See this is where our opinions differ.. I don't think they intended people to use those options, to bypass the difficulty of seeing at night in the game. I think they intended only to offer those options, as optional components to allow you to play the game as it was originally intended. ie To use Torchs and Lanterns, content "in" the game, added, to allow you to see in the dark.
  11. I already have. The omission of such a statement, does not make it fact. Please learn to comprehend what I've written, before you restate what you've already stated. We're starting to go in circles now. My previous quotes of what you've said proves my point. So trying to retract what you've already said as what you didn't say.. doesn't really matter.
  12. No I said they were garbage maps. And my opinion is based on how many people "i saw" logged in as well as the content of the maps themselves. It wasn't purely because of the numbers involved. Many people claim that a certain ps4 game is utter garbage.. yet it has some 2.5 billion sales. I personally don't like it either.. nor do I like dota or many other games. Doesn't matter how many people are playing them... As my opinion of the maps/game is all that matters to me.
  13. Thanks for your info Jat. That's good to know. Here's hoping it'll be worth playing. imho.
  14. No, you're saying.. that running people over is fine. Because it "can be used that way". It really is what your opinion, in my opinion means. The developers have not said officially, "hey if you can't see in the dark, please just ignore the game content we added like the torchs or the lantern.. just turn up the gamma". And because they didn't.. you're saying it's okay.
  15. No, your opinion, is based upon your viewpoint of how you think the game rules apply. What you're actually saying here, is you think, you only have an opinon and that anyone else.. isn't allowed one. And if they give an objecting opinion.. then you get to call them names, because you're right, they're always wrong. Because to you "is that my position is based upon the game’s official rules." You are right tho.. my opinion is based on my viewpoint. And the official rules in my view, do not allow exploitation of menu options. That is your opinion of them that is making this argument. And you're trying to convince people that because the "official rules say so" that you're right. But the rules don't actually say so.. so On the one hand you're saying Because they don't specifically state it's not okay, it's okay. That isn't how the world rolls.. As for omission of rights.. I decide what my rights are. Not you or anyone else. As you decide what yours are. Again.. you're suggesting that only you are allowed any opinion. And yes.. unfair/cheating. Same meaning. So not playing a game the way it was intended.. is unfair.. it is cheating. You're a cheat if you cheat. Doesn't matter how you phrase it.
  16. Of course we're talking about my opinion.. everything I say here.. is my opinion, as everything you say is yours. My opinion.. is you're cheating if you alter the gamma. And I laugh at you for doing so. Don't like my opinion? Not my problem. It's actually hilarious.. that it probably doesn't even occur to you.. that you're also.. "since arbitrary imposition of your belief on others is something we frown upon in free societies." doing this. I am not forcing my opinion on anyone.. I am giving you my opinion, as you give me yours. We argue out our reasons for having our opinions in an effort to convince people of them. To change theirs.. I know for a fact, that there are people who completely agree with my stance on cheating and exploitation. And that there are people like you.. who seem simply, incapable. And who draw every possible objection to anything you think.. as some racist, islamaphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, nazi.. because we too.. have opinions. As people like you say.. feel free to disagree. As people like me say.. argue your point. Or it isn't worth anything. Your argument is "there's a button, that makes it okay" My argument is "you don't need to use the button" You think because there's a menu option to allow you to change the gamma.. makes it ok. You think because 100k people play a game, it's good. I don't. I think, what I think, matters. Here are my reasons... you can agree/disagree all you want. But the moment you start making broad accusations about how you think why I'm making my opinion, that somehow I think my opinion is the only opinion.. which is basically racism, that you're accusing me of.. as part of your argument, to try to declare that my opinion is obviously wrong. That's where you fall flat on your face. And show everyone who you really are.. the namecaller.. is usually the name called. Hm.. servers crashed.. Oh and by the way.. you actually make my argument for me.. in your silly responce.. "or could reasonably be construed as doing so." This is, the definition of cheating. Using gamma to "see in the dark" is unreasonable use. Using it to see the game as it was intended to be played. Is reasonable use.
  17. Er what? You're actually arguing.. that because the game comes with the ability to change the gamma setting.. it isn't cheating to use that setting to bypass the ingame darkness/basic play mode? Seriously.. You might as well argue that running people over in a car is totally acceptable.. because people aren't supposed to walk on roads. And cars do come with engines and tyres.. so you can use them, to run them over.. because. Your monitor has a contrast/brightness setting, because different movies, videos, games some different settings and you can adjust the view to your liking.. but they aren't there so you can make nighttime into daytime because that makes your life easier. That is cheating. Simple as.
  18. I've never seen one.. or a legendary for that matter, so I can't really comment on those. I wonder if the developers actually know that 99% of their playerbase.. no longer plays atlas. Or if they think there's still 40k people logging into the servers everyday.
  19. Goes without saying.. single player.. is just hacker and cheat paradise to perfect their means to their ends. It was used primarily to check stuff out and work out better ways of doing stuff, on the officials/private servers. A complete waste of coding, time and effort really.
  20. Ok so my opinions are your notions.. check. They were still garbage maps. Free dlcs.. Scorched Earth was a tough map, where 99% of the players who joined, left crying salty tears. Or played in sp so they could cheat everything in. Ragnarok, Center, Aberation were by comparison garbage. Easy maps. Extinction is another excellent map. In my obvious opinion. As for players on servers.. what does that mean? What was the cultural makeup of your servers? Who was playing them? Why were they playing them? Easy to exploit? Easy to complete? Garbage maps.. Just saying..my opinion, don't like.. you know where to put that objection.
  21. What I was thinking, we have the notes we can make, how about some basic scripts, that you write into the notes.. which instruct the crewman to pickup/drop off items, open/close doors or levers at specific times. ie Automation. You think stick the scripted note onto a crewman, stick the crewman onto a lever.. and then you sail away, get your stuff, come back, the crewmen unloads it from your cargo racks into shore base storage, you can then either move it to other manual storage or maybe a crewman on a horse/cargo hauler loads it from local dock storage into horse, hauls it to your smithy storage and unloads it etc. I've seen simple $5 games with basic scripts running like this as part of the main gameplay.. it would ease the grind burden in atlas/ark etc and would give players a new dimension on the gameplay. Esp on the grinder side. You should also be able to instruct a crewmen to switch the lights on at 8pm and off at 6am everyday, instead of having to whistle them to open/close the switch.
  22. Yep.. it must be nerfed. Make it so it.. doesn't grapple people? Yeah...
  23. A cargo rack retrieval device on my dock.. drop from ship.. pick up at dock.. unload.. No spending 20 mins edging in, hitting shit, bouncing around, scraping off the shallows. Simple, straight forward. Easy. As pie.
  24. Proves my point exactly, center and ragnarok were garbage maps that noone played on for more than a few days. Console players should be banned from the internet.
  25. What utter rubbish. Scorched earth was an excellent expansion and well worth the money I spent buying it. I'd have paid twice for it. Not only did it add a new map, it add a whole plethora of new dinos and wyverns, golems etc. As well as the deathworms. A great weather system and it brought back the desperation of survival. It's a pity the expansions that followed weren't as good. But SE was worth every penny. As for it being a single player map etc.. given the handful literally, of people who would even play sp.. I don't see why they're wasting effort on that at all. Okay if there were 20,000 demands for it, not 4-5.. out of the 2000 total player base roughly? Same goes for the private server map.. why? Why not beef up their own official servers with the new map? Or better yet, add it straight into the current map. imo if it's free.. it'll be worthless.. quite literally. Anything worthwhile, has to be purchased.
