This is the number one problem in Atlas right now. People are claiming land just to claim it

Ya, I agree there needs to be something like this. Like in Rust and DayZ Epoch we not only had to upkeep our plot poles we had to pay for them. Making them free or no cost to build made it way too easy for groups to take over the whole map.

Ya, I came here to say the same thing. they need to put restrictions on claiming. Like what one person said, they should have structures on the island. And I mean actual buildings, not just a foundation with a pillar and ceiling. This is just foundation spam all over again, only this time they don't even have to farm the materials for it
