  1. one of the islands u cant even sail a boat away from the beach , a huge swathe of area is too shallow had to swim about for ages to find a deep enough area that was at least 200 meters out , great map 😕  sotd not attacking or chasing , might not have sailed enough yet no flotsams , no wrecks ,

The map was made by a modder (Iso) so it's not exactly something the devs worked on.

they have still used resources we paid for to add it , more single player content why ?

@devs how about working on the game you sold us .. u know the giant online  MMO world ?

I Must admit that stuff like the Boss Fights is only a One Time thing,as there is no reward for Doing it more often. But as i am playing since Day 1 i can see alot of changes And balancing in the Game. They greatly improved spawns so tames are safer than ever,They greatly nerfed spawns so the game is now a kitty island clone ,the newest Patch increased FPS And laggs in huge bases so much that Fights on Land should be Working Without Any Problems now. They nerfed gear so Charakter is Not that easlily overpowered And alot of Quality of life changes. There are some changes they should have made alot earlier or Set priority elsewhere for sure but i think they go into the right direction even if its a bit Slow.

I agree with you @Egon von Sturmberg,    But lets just say hypothetical speaking.   What if that island is the only one in the entire game with that resource,  How would you react to something like that?

This island is B10 - Lawless.  Only Shale Oil location i have been able to find during all my hours spent looking,

e7 large bottom right island tons of the stuff, u havnt looked very hard 😛

The powers that be at Atlas really should play the game more than whatever amount that they do.  The most active, loyal, and dedicated players so far in the 7 months since Atlas's launch have been repeatedly given the impression that those calling the shots do not play the game much if at all. I am not talking about design choices that split the community, those have their supporters and detractors. I am talking about design choices that leave any experienced player scratching their head wondering how anyone at Grapeshot ever thought *insert your favorite dumb idea here* was a good idea.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

-Insanely over the top rent prices for player shops that render them pointless.

-Initial spawn rates of sotd's and hostile creatures that made play for the average player insanely difficult.

-Storm frequency and damage out of all proportion to reality that made travel a perilous crapshoot which could cause players to lose tons of time and resources invested in ships and everything on them to be lost due to unavoidable storms which sprang up with little to no warning.

-Unnecessarily complicated land claim and retention mechanics which practically invite griefing of other players.

-Skill mechanics that require the ability to craft an item in order to be able to use it. In any game purporting to support ingame economy, this is unbelievably dumb.

Despite the fact some of these things have been corrected (others over corrected), these and other design choices have left the playerbase wondering if those calling the shots at GrapeCard ever actually log in and play the game they're creating. If they don't, they should. If they do, perhaps they need to do so more often, or interact with other players more when they do. If they are actually doing both these things, we might all be screwed. Because honestly, even though the game has it's moments and is fun enough to win my time, there are more than one or two calls here that are "should have died on the brainstorming table" bad. Yes, the players in an Early Access game are here to provide feedback and input, but the needed level of input and feedback should start somewhere above, not at "fire is hot."

I don't care who it is, but whoever is making the decisions that lead to these things really ought to spend more time in the game. Or at least stop making design choices so facepalm worthy as to give the impression they never do. This is not my first EA rodeo, but it is the first one to make me wonder if the people making it ever play it.

i agree with all except the spawns at release , as due to too much crying on the forums the nerfs were too hard , now the game is left with little to no risk to anything that can be done in the game ,

I have more than 1200 hours played in ATLAS , my experience is more on PVE servers.

I wish the game had missions in Freeports to players.

It would be very cool to see cities with NPCs that had functions for the players.

I do not know if the final version will look like the trailer, but it's missing something like that for the players.

Yesterday I went with my members to golden age island to face kill Hydra and cyclops. The fighting mechanics of these monsters are perfect, so the reward for the player is very bad. It has no incentive, these monsters are hard to kill and you spend resources that are not worth the effort.

The game has improved a lot since the release, but still needs a lot of changes and we are here to try to make the developers, to hear us, to follow the best way.

What do you think is missing in the game for you?

more danger when out and about exploring islands , farming islands , with all the wildlife nerfs and spawn reductions its a regular snoooze fest doing anything ,

i can still remember the first days of atlas , settled in g4 , i spent a huge amount of time fighting and dying to wolfs , crocs , alpha cobras , etc , it was fun it was dangerous , the constant need to keep an eye out and be prepared to run , especially at the lower lvls when i was still using basic weapons and armours, those days need to come back , but there was a bit to much whining about the spawns so the devs kitty islanded the game ....

Well lets see if you are gone for almost a month straight why not? Like I said before the owner may be collecting a tax but you are not paying anything for it. You still get 100% the tax percent is just magically added to the bank. Big bad land ruler, that's too funny. It takes risk to keep the islands paid for, just cuz some goof ball builds his hut on my metal spawn, I should just put up a welcome sign? You want free go live on lawless.

considering after 10 days structures auto decay , if not refreshed your month argument is invalid , that's the first issue u have solved , risk for gold up keep for island 😕 what risk? grab boat and a bear go to treasure map , kill damned , dig up treasure , there is zero pve risk in this game , which is the biggest part of causing players to be bored , bored when farming , bored when exploring but i digress that's a conversation for another thread .someone puts up a hut on resources nodes on your island go clean it up u have 24 or is it 48 hrs on pve ?  ,too many island owners complain about random structures appearing , but make no effort to patrol the island and clean up if they dont like said structures being placed ,

meh *shrugs* i'm just waiting for pvp servers to drop the even lower numbers , be interesting to see if dev focus changes after they realise most of the playerbase is pve rather than pvp.

on official this does indeed seem to be true , not hugely more popular but enough to see that you are correct .

  8. you do realise there are 2 game modes , u want to destroy settlers time and work , u want to tax them for protection , u want to rule over them and decide who can and cant settle or build  then go play play pvp , or are u too scared and just want to act like you are a big bad island ruler all safe on your non risk pve island .

if u do play pvp then wtf are u even concerned about pve for ?

    Snowflake alert :anchor:

snowflake because i play pve ? that's the best u can come up with ? when the entire thread is based around a player wanting to clear the island in a pve enviroment with active settlers on the island ? not to mention the OP coming across as a complete dummy throwing child ?

your insight into this was well worth the read .

and i tell it again. I want destroy the work from other player. but i will destroy the bed with the fondation. it stays befor i get the island. and the decaytimer is done but we cant destroy this and this is the point to raze the island. All other tribes say "its ok raze it, we can build new if u help us" and i say "NP we help u to build it new and i delet the tax in this time"

the bed+fondation block  the place to expand other sattlements and this is a problem. other settlement havnt the chance to build coz single ressorcebox, single feeding trough or this single fondation with bed.

raze option is gone from pve get used to it , its not coming back , go find another island if the one u have claimed is that much of a problem for you ,

But you can't destroy work of people that were there before you, because it is PvE, you can't destroy others efforts, even with gold, that's not the point of PvE 🙂

im sorry but the point of the pve is VERSUS ENVIRONMENT not other players who think because they spent a bit of gold gives them the right to remove anything other players  built ,

you sound very much like you would enjoy pvp more ,

    hey buddys,

we got a problem with clearing the island on PVE. We claim an island on PVE and we will raze them, we wait 2 days and after the 2 days we cant clear it. the other ppl on this island are accept the decision to clear the islan. And now ? We wait fcking 48h and we cant clear the fcking island coz any fcking childs crying a fcking river. We all spend over 1500h in this game, we play prewipe and now, we r a tribe wit over 30 ppl and we cant clear a fcking island for our tribe for 25k Gold. We r ready to pay 100k for this feature but we cant clear this fcking island coz any fcking kid is crying!!!!! .... so bring a solution for this problem , u can bring it on PVP, why u cant bring it for PVE ??? we need the place and we pay everyting.

So i ecuse my rage and my expressions.

    I  enjoy an answere !!!

BTW im waiting for our hats

    greetings

    CptPaddel

the option was removed because of players like you(and pve forums exploding when it was announced ) , who want everything to themselves , pve is meant for relaxing gameplay without having to worry about griefing players like you removing others time , sorry if the truth hurts ,

  13. wow what are the devs of this game trying to do to their game , this has to the most ridiculous idea ever implemented in a survival pve game mode ever , please @Dollie @Jatheish where did this idea come from , and how did you think it was a good one ?

adding to this since the point change the island i decided to settle on has had 3 owners 😕 so im going to go out on a limb and say next owners WILL raze the island , everything i and others built up will be gone 😕

What we need is decay timers displayed on ships like structures do, that would help clear up some of the confusion so people know if the activity they done has refreshed timers.

for the entire ship along with all contents , is a bit too hars , 3 ships gone galleon for farming runs , brig for sotd hunting and mobile base brig, all gone because i didnt what ? raise the anchor , sail them enough , board them enough , despite playing the game at least daily / every other day

  15. logged in today to see galleon / and 2 brigs gone , why do ships decay if we dont raise the anchor ?i know its a known mechanic but what is the actual time scale ,  tames don't go poof if we render them , buildings don't go poof , so why do ships ? ships that have items , crew, resources, on them ,? devs this needs to change , this affects smaller companies that don't use all their ships all the time ,

each of my 4 ships have(or should i say had ) their own uses with different skill points assigned , just because i don't use them all the time they should not be disappearing along with everything that was on them ,

If land owners could sell building permits or land writs it would solve most issues in PVE.
And if those building permits or land writs would be connected to specific land plots that would be even better.
Such a system would even enable player shops in the freeports and would push all chaos into Lawless.

this is why the flag claim didnt work when there were no limits , landowners wont allow anyone to build if you suggestion was  implemnted ,

why should someone who landed at an island decided who can settle there we all paid the same , we all play the same hame , we just slept or worked at different times and now another players decides for us where we can make bases , dont think so ...

So you have a company with 50 members, 50 flags.. if you limit companys to 1 flag, people will settle as an offline company, sharing everything ingame, keeping their 50 flags..

The guy with 1 flag.. still suffers.

I like the current system.. lets companies have their own place, the problem really to me is that there is a/ a lack of islands and b/ a lack of variation in those available.

if they implement the fast decay , what are they putting in place to stop other pve players walling in others bases ?
