  2. You have the map editor? I think control left click opens up the server menu for each grid.
  3. For Ark I only run LAN. For Atlas the map tool and even using .bat files to run the server isn't that difficult. It's just the networking stuff i really lack knowledge on. I will research more when I get home from work. Any tutorial links would be appreciated. My router is a netgear r6700
  4. I spend a few hours getting the server setup. Using cpjet64 very long steam. He now has a 15 min quick version. Then like 5 mins in game checking that I couldn't access the server.
  5. This is the part I have no clue how to do. My fault for assuming Atlas would be capable of being run just like Ark. I will give it one more try after work to figure out port forwarding, but if I cannot, I am not going to keep a game I cannot play. I haven't even loaded into the Atlas world yet.
  6. I try to view it outside Atlas, just in steam
  7. So the steam LAN list wouldn't show an Atlas LAN server? Cause that's mostly where I have been looking.
  8. Steam -> view-> servers. Has LAN section, I can easily find my Ark server there. But not my Atlas server setup the same way.
  9. I will go back and use my external IP and try this port forwarding thing. After work through, in a few hours. Is there a way to whitelist or password protected the server?
  10. You can make a custom map of a 2x2. Also, you could consider rotating one of the grids. Not sure how easy this will be.
  11. I really have no clue on this stuff. I get my internet from a mobile hotspot. I don't even know how to check if it's static, except maybe to restart the computer and check if the ip changes or restart the modem and check if it changes. Plus I just want to play solo/single player.
  12. Cpjet64 now has a 15 min walkthrough on twitch. And I did all those steps, just with my LAN IP. The only part I didn't mess with was the firewall ports, I didn't think it would matter for trying to get LAN to work.
  13. It hasn't been confirmed, but LAN hosting for single player dosen't seem to work.
  14. So I have my server IP set as LAN IP. And, you have IP as your public one? That's the only difference, right?
  15. I have a separate server box. I just want to play single player, so I don't need many grids. My server box can easily run a 2x2. But I am thinking more of a 1x3 with the 3rd grid as a rotation map. I think map making looks really fun. I have watched cpjet64 trying to fast forward through to pick out the steps. I have the server through SteamCMD. I have the map editor through github. I downloaded cpjet64 1x1 map, and bat files. Use the map editor to update the 1x1 to a new unique ID, server name, and my LAN IP. Exported all the map files to the server. Update the bat files with my info. Started the redis server. Then the Atlas server. They boot up fine. But I cannot connect from my other computer. I don't see it in my server in the in-game browser. I don't see it in steam servers by IP to favorites or LAN. For Ark, i use ASM so I have never manually set this stuff up before. I only run LAN. I checked it's the same LAN IP I use to run Ark. I need confirmation if LAN is even possible. IF it is not, then I should just refund cause I won't be able to play.
  16. Sorry for trying to help. Not trying to troll. I have never done this before. I use ASM for Ark. There is an example in the link I posted. Good luck.
  17. You have to write the .bat file Example given here. https://github.com/GrapeshotGames/ServerGridEditor/wiki
  18. Battlemetrics lists the atlas servers
  19. The real question is will official servers be fun enough to be an MMO OR will the player base jump ship to private servers, just like Ark
  20. I would be interested in the ini details to configure this as well.
  21. @cpjet64 since you are so amazing, could you confirm if a LAN server is possible or not? It would probably only take you a few seconds to test.
  22. I have been running a LAN Ark server for a while now( ASM is a godsend). Never ever tried to port forward, 0 skill in this area. I also get my internet from a mobile hotspot thing, so I guess the ip thing will not be static. I guess if I cannot get this to work, I should just return Atlas. I am really only interested in playing it as a single player game.
  23. I tried, but it's a bit beyond my technical skill level. Hoping for an easy to follow tutorial.
