Nothing he says is proof that it is not, he reads between the lines. I have provided proof that the Dev article was in fact approved by The Wildcard team. Yet he continues to debate or cries not sure what one yet, still laughing at his argumentative structure. If the devs keep this up it will just be another dino game. They keep shifting focus away from what the majority did like. Proof again, lots left got tired of the meta game, as well as many other things. Yet i still return here wondering should i ignore the guy or continue laughing? i dunno.

Yes hes young i get it.

But it still doesn't change from the facts, the devs need to focus on what was given, airships and the other stuff was for the Devkit via videos, trailers etc.. which is pirate themed sandbox mmo.. of 150 per player max.

Ok again those personal attacks. Im 31 years old lawyer, I debate for a living. What are you to judge my argumentative structure? Im pretty sure I can support my claims with facts. You can't. You just whine, whine and whine, spitting on developers because you are so lazy you can't even read before you buy smt. Its your own fault, hard to accept isn't?

Last words from me here. Debating with someone who has no interrest in debating has no sense. Live in your little world where everyone is responsible for you faults except of you 😉 Keep creating those topics if it helps you to vent your frustrations, it will surely help Atlas to be great game.

This thread turned into a shitfest.

What are you guys even arguing about anymore?

This game has pirates.  It has explorers.  It has traders.  It has WHATEVER THE FUCK WE WANT in it including companies, countries, etc.  You cannot have only pirates.  Pirates would get bored and drink themselves to death because there would be nothing to pillage or plunder.

These games are what we make them to be.  If I wanted to be a Privateer I can be one.  If I wanted to form the Spanish armada and hunt pirates and those pesky English I could do that as well.

As to ARK, shove that game.  It has nothing to do with this one.

It is not a "pirate game".

It is a MMO sandbox survival game placed in a setting that resembles renaissance Europe with some fantasy elements.

So much this. A pure pirate MMO where everyone is pirates would be a dud at worst and a PvE game at best.  If all anyone did was pillage and plunder, nobody would be generating the sources of pillage and plunder. Granted gold and blueprints of heavily PvE sourced and they do have improvements that could be made, but much of the production in the world is in the hands of players. Pirates don't produce, they take.

The grand design is that there are settlements and companies that trade regional resources with other settlements and companies. Pirates attempt to cut in and profit from hijacking trade ships. Companies retaliate by sending out pirate hunters and armed escorts. But everything broke down because nobody wanted to play the Trading game. Partially because the mechanics to properly engage in trade were absent and moreso because the game was approached as a territorial conquest game. Claiming an entire island was supposed to be a large company endeavor. A whole server square a megacompany endeavor. Instead, we had small companies wanting whole islands and mid-size trying to secure whole servers while the megas were aimed at global domination.

Nobody wanted to trade. They wanted to claim territory where they could get resources. In fact, the trouble of moving resources delayed the adoption of using blueprints until people realized how much of a difference it would make. Because value was tied to land and not to resources, people focused their PvP efforts on land. Instead of trying to rob trade ships, they offlined ships and bases to weaken holdings and eventually steal the land claims.

The game being designed and the game being played were becomming different things. And thus very few were satisfied with the result.
