Captain Jack Shadow 488 Posted February 27, 2019 As you craft items in your inventory, you weight goes up. This is wrong. When you take raw materials, and craft something in real life, the end result is significantly lighter than the total weight of the materials you began with. There is a lot of wasted material, and that weight ends up in the waste bin.

I don't know about crafting everything, but my company actually hauls gunpowder to where our best metal node spot is and mostly crafts cannonballs there precisely because the weight of cannonballs is about half the weight of the raw metal to make them. It stands to reason that the specifics might vary but the overall principle you mentioned should apply to most things to at least some degree.
Captain Jack Shadow 488 Posted February 27, 2019 Try it with things like campfires, wood walls, etc...
Archsenex 309 Posted February 27, 2019 Most items weigh less after crafting. There are exceptions. Thatch building parts are a big one because they massively reduced the material cost but never re-did the weight on the final product. Wood building parts weight WAY less when constructed than in materials. Wood walls go from almost 10 Kilos to 5.6
Thor Ragnarock 99 Posted February 27, 2019 Yea we did this for the mass organic paste times. Shipping sugar was a lot heavier than shipping the paste (and a lot more annoying to move twice) Same for alloy it's a lot lighter than metal. Also crafting the large doors/frames is even lighter than shipping the alloy (although it probably shouldn't be) probably quite a few other things like this. I noticed also some higher end engrams lower weights even more the masterwork galleon we had panels for was half the weight for the higher tier panels in addition to the increased durability etc. Probably just needs to be gone through and adjusted on some stuff.
