Elixor 0 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) Hey all, Am I the only one with a massive... folder? Looks like some data I should be able to remove, not sure what https://imgur.com/wq9uJSh Edited February 2, 2019 by Elixor
Merpz 7 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) That folder contains all your steam games. Edit: I guess you found the real game folder ^^ However the game was like 100gb to download in the first place? Both Ark and Atlas has always been super large games. We just have to deal with it ^^ Edited February 2, 2019 by Merpz
Xzyzz 1 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) Isnt this just while its updating ? Edit : Oh nvm. It was your entire steamfolder Edited February 2, 2019 by Xzyzz

Elixor 0 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) Same here, I had to remove a few games as it wouldn't patch as it says my disk was full?! Edited February 2, 2019 by Elixor
Stabby 96 Posted February 2, 2019 I've been downloading this damn patch for an hour now. Still only 60% complete. This is bullshit.
Alma Todd 1 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) I created a new Steam folder for ATLAS on a different disk steamapps/common/ATLAS -> 98 gb steamapps/downloading/834910 8 -> 93 gb You basically have the game two times. Everything in "downloading" seems to be from today, too. So much about 4.3 gb patch; This seems to be the "preallocating" part steam does. Likely it is just a copy from the already downloaded game, to merge the patch in before applying it to the game folder. Now the patch started downloading for real. LaiTash 156 Posted February 2, 2019 It just keeps moving everything from common to downloading for me. Didn't even begin to download the actual patch yet.

Merpz 7 Posted February 2, 2019 (edited) I have an SSD -> First it downloaded 4.3 gb.. fixed all the files etc... Then i got a new progress bar, when that finished the game was like! "YO let's download 7.9 gb!" AND THEN The game decided it was to little... here i am downloading 31,2gb ! GREAT WORK! Also rollback the servers to before the patch and remove all the crocodiles in the game untill you figure out how to make em unable to ATTACK shit inside buildings/boats Edited February 2, 2019 by Merpz

Nutcutt3r 173 Posted February 2, 2019 Just now, LaiTash said: It's on SSD. But yeah it almost stopped at 86gb. I have seen it do that when its nearly full as well, like its sorting files to find enough free space. Or if you have Steam on two drives as well.
Caldrin 55 Posted February 2, 2019 Mine decided to download the game again.. got to 32gb download and now its unpacking. As for the unpacked folder size after yeah tis about 10gb and that's normal.
Shintai 117 Posted February 2, 2019 The space will be free again after patch is applied. See it as temporary usage. Same applies to ARK, you need a lot of free space and total space for that matter.
