Tame limit does not allow larger crews to properly defend

Recommended Posts

With a tame limit of 800 tames, proper defense is not actually conceivable. Maybe the 800 count would be feasible just including beasts. But it doesent just include beasts, it includes NPC's as well which of course is needed to achieve these big pirate battles that the game actually is all about, not to mention the end game content already implemented such as the Kraken.

There needs to be a fix whether it is splitting the tame count into two separate counts for NPC's and  beasts, or just increasing the tame limit itself. The games tame limit should at least be the same as Ark considering there is just as much of a emphasis on taming in regards to large amounts of NPC's in the place of dinos.

800 and you are complaining? sheesh.

Maybe, just maybe, you need to split your company into smaller companies all under one alliance, then you could have more if you must.

This.  Time to start culling all your extra animals you don't really need, stop giving each person their own boat with a full load of NPCs, or leave the late shift and form some smaller companies.

It must suck so bad to be in a large company when you can't even have your own boat in a sailing mmo lol. What is the point of joining a large company if you can't have shit anyway? Can just as well have nothing on a lawless island.

People love to be slaves for streamers.  Anything for that attention.  The best bang for the buck experience in regards to mechanic limitations is going to be a medium company.  If you assume a galleon takes 50 NPC's to have it fully loaded out (obviously its not exactly 50, but its an easy and close number to work with) that's 16 galleons before limit hit assuming no other NPCs or tames.  That's quite the war navy... for the streamer and his few friends anyway... 😄

Or it's a nice mixed fleet with tons of variation for different people, tower defense npcs, tames, etc.  Those big clans need to consolidate if they want to have a big navy and invest more in players having roles instead of npcs.  You can utilize like 60 people + on a galleon but every time you see a streamer in a big clan running one you see them plus maybe 10 people on it and a shitload of npcs.

The problem with player-run galeons is that one such galeon can double the strain on server, two will make it almost unplayable, the third one will be kicked from server. And that's best case scenario.

Yeah.  I'm sure that will stable out over time and performance increases, hopefully. Still though that's all part of my point.  I'm just glad there is SOME limitation on 500 man streamer zerg guilds.  NPC's are mainly meant as assistance to those who don't have a ton of real people.  It's specifically so a few people can still man a brig, etc.  Streamers have lots of players available and therefore shouldn't be relying on NPCs.  They should utilize all those people.

If you are already at limit then this game is very shallow and has no hope. Bad enough to could get to end game in two days but if rams cap is already hit(took a lot longer for that to happen in ark) this game is done for

I suspect the limits have more to do with server performance than game balance.

Yes you are absolutely correct. Not need to suspect, it is the truth. On ark when tame cap is reached the servers get way laggy. Nobody care about game balance, because there will never be any

Do you want to be the person that has nothing to do 99.99% of time time? If we assume for some weird reason that you are then it's actually easier for the captain to command NPCs then players - it just takes few pushes of a button instead of speaking and hoping at least half of the players will do what you want them to do or are even in the game right now instead of youtube. AIs manning the guns are just fine, they have aimbots and are accurate enough for what you want them 😄

Where you need real players is spotter/s damage control party and boarding party to shoot, fly with gliders bombing the enemy ship and stuff like that. You don't need them manning 50 guns - it's absolute waste of potential and fun to be have for the players involved.

It was just an example of how big streamers with huge zerg guilds are not correctly utilizing their players and the tame limit helps enforce then doing it.
