  1. They (the green ones as that's what you meet most of the time) are waste of cannon balls - that's why your neighbours and many others don't kill them and they pile up.
  2. Which for the most part are useless and not worth the cannon balls. SOTD hunting for me and many others is going to powerstone server looking for the high level (red) SOTD while just ignoring the countless low level ones (green) - yes they are 1shot for me, but I will throw away all their BPs as useless, so why kill them (wasting ammo) to begin with? They are only good for crew and leveling up new ships. If no one kills them for those 2 reasons they just pile up as no one kills them for gold or BPs...
  3. The problem comes exactly from people that build for the sake of building. This results in company harbors full of RP ships that tax the servers a lot and make it hardly playable in the area (close to the harbor) for most with non top notch PCs. For a brig it takes like 40 plank, 3 decks, 3 sails, 1 wheel, chest and mess table. Add some guns, ceilings and you are let's say on the 100 structures for a functional ship. Then for many the RP part starts with below deck compartments, halfwalls on the upper deck, railings, lamps, tables, chairs that adds just as many structures probably if not more. And it turns out that such RP ship is taxing the server 2x more compared to just functional ship (for gameplay). With medium sized company you have a lot of ships parked in the harbor and the lag &fps get terrible close to that harbor. Of course they will reduce the structures limit and not just once I bet. This is not a single player creative game after all. Would be cool to make that limit editable, so that low pop private servers can have creative ships, but not on the official where "immersion" for 1 person causes troubles to everyone around him!
  4. True, but doesn't mean it's always awful Also 20 cannons is big overkill, I have 9 large in the back and had no problems with sotd level 50ish. Also doesn't look ugly Not everyone makes bullshit like that:
  5. Sailed 1 hour to server with ancient ruins in order to hunt high level SOTD. Killed 4 above level 50, got mythical and legendary bullshits in form of chest, dingy dock, mess table, ammo crate. The only kind of useful thing was 160% masterwork mortar blueprint. Sailed back. Total wasted time 3 hours without even counting the grind needed for repairs and refilling the ammo
  6. Oh yeah - very misleading tho as there were such cases already If try to chase that one it's usually a bad idea - for now at least as it's still MK.1 (did't sink yet requiring rebuidling). 9x 160ish % large cannons in the back remove few planks right away and no one keeps chasing after that for now
  7. Painting is not what I expected too, couldn't even make proper potato ship
  8. You can turn off water in order to maneuver in shallow waters for example or look for whales...
  9. Depends on the whale and on your hit ratio. The easiest way is to get the whale just behind the ship and have like 5 ballistics there - will melt in no time and most spears will hit.
  10. Gliders were quite OP early on when you could redeploy in flight and carry lots of weight. You use a glitch to load yourself with like 10K weight and as you can't jump you just climb on tower and drop from there which would deploy your glider and you can bring those 10K of weight across multiple servers if you are good with the glider. Now it's no longer possible, so not that OP.
  11. Pretty curious who are "you"? The unemployed people or the ones that play at nights? In both cases that's quite far away from the majority of the PvP players on officials. Offline protection for 8 or 12 hours a day that leaves 16 or 12 a day for raiding and siegeing (sea battles are 24/7) won't break PvP in any way, because offline raiding aka PvW(alls) is not really PvP. Alternatively there can be vulnerability windows like in EvE where each company sets their time when they can defend.
  12. I'm storing this blueprint for possible future, but right now it's absolutely worthless giving just more durability on the shipyard itself and no buffs for the ships themself.
  13. Breeding is not really taming, different activities. Easy to tame, really hard to breed as the non stop care requires more then 1 person unless someone wants to end up in hospital. As far as balance goes - there is damn dragon and they will add the cyclops, fire elementals and the rest of the bullshit. Player owned alpha is like nothing compared to that. Yes it's permanent, but it also dies a lot easier then the other mentioned super creatures and is pain in the ass to grow.
  14. Photo is from reddit - NA PVE. But that's not the only alpha bear, just 1st time someone posted screenshot. Also people did experiments on private servers. About 2% chance it looks like for the baby to be alpha.
